~January 2nd, daybreak~
Caedis was sitting cross legged at the far left of the beach. Far away from Helldoor's cave. Even though there's still time before Helldoor's soldiers began their morning run at the beach, as an Alba Stella's assassin, she liked to minimize risk as low as possible.
That's right, Caedis was one of the assassins that infiltrated the octagon bungalow to kidnap the newly exiled son of Duke Brandr. Her partner, Cruor, was not with her at the moment.
Did they succeed in their mission? Judging from the content of the coffin in front of Caedis, they have indeed completed their mission.
Jet was not dead. The order specifically stresses on delivering the young master alive. The reason that he was placed inside the coffin, was for ease of mobility.
This coffin was special. It was made from the bones and hide of a Cloud Mammoth, a flying elephant existing on the Furvur’s Chaos Island of Caligo. Add in some blood and chaos magic energy, and the heavy items you store inside would not feel heavy at all.
KRSHH!
The sound of the bush rustling behind her alerted Caedis. She stood up, and faced the sound. Her back facing the sea. Her right hand gripping the machete on her left.
“It's me.”
Caedis scoffed as she relaxed her body. Soon, the silhouette of Cruor approached her. It seems that he is dragging something large and heavy.
It was the carcass of a Lava Bear. A Magic Beast native to Cherith.

“Wow, you killed a Lava Bear without getting yourself hurt. Respect.” Caedis sneered.
“Pfft, shut up. You see this?” Cruor pointed to a slash on his left arm. “Its claws just graze me, and I was wounded.”
Caedis frowned. “Huh? I don't see any wound? Just an old scar.”
Cruor rolled his eyes. “That's what you don't know. This is what the Lava bear did to me. The lava poison just burned the flesh and closed the wound. The burning sensation still remains though.”
Caedis shivered even thinking about that. It seems that a Lava Bear is no joking matter.
“Still, you did manage to get us a prime ingredient for a vessel. Good job.” Caedis said sincerely.”
“Yeah, fine. Whatever. Just do the thing and let's get out of here.”
Caedis did not stall any longer. She quickly got to work. She drained the blood from the bear, and drew a large magic circle with a pentagram in the middle. She dismembered the hands and feet and decapitated the bear. Then, she placed the severed limbs and head and placed it on each point of the star.
After she placed the body to the middle of the magic circle, she stood at the head of the bear, and began chanting.
“I call upon Ifrit, the King of the land of the Djinn. With my offering, bestow upon me a vessel. Protect me from death from the sea, the earth and heaven…”
As soon as she finished chanting the spell, the magic began to glow. Purple thunder crackled and sparks from the circle. The carcass began to gather and transform.
It went from flesh, to pure iron lumps, and slowly turned into a small ship. Slowly, it descended onto the surface of the sea.
Caedis picked up the coffin, and both she and Cruor jumped onto the ship.
Cruor could not help but to whistle. “Man, those sorcerers are living on the easy street, huh?”
As lowly assassins, both of them hated mages and assassins. While they had to be rigorously trained. Even gone through rituals to fuse the strengths and speed of chaos beasts.
Yet all these magic wielders need to do is just snap their fingers, and everything is done. Honestly, if they weren't such a high falutin bunch of snobbish assholes, even the assassins would have respected them.
“Yeah, they have their uses.” Caedis scoffed in disgust. “Now come on. Let's hurry up and go back. Mister Avi is waiting with the client. And it's a long way back by the sea.”
Cruor remembered something as he scanned the ship. “Uhhh, I think that magic spell forgot something?”
“Huh? Forgot what?”
“There's no sail here! Do you expect me to row this big boat back?!”
Caedis burst out laughing hearing that.
“Stop laughing! This is serious!”
“Hahaha, relax. The ship is powered by the Magic Beast core. And not just a normal magic beast core, a Chaos Beast core. It will devour the energy in the air, as well as everything else on its path.”
“Oh…”
“Hehehe, honestly. You do have your cute side, huh?” Caedis teased her partner.
Cruor gave her the middle finger. “I'm gonna store this boy below, then I'm going to sleep. Huh!”
And Cruor disappeared inside the boat. Leaving behind his partner rolling on the deck laughing.
