Chapter 711:
Out of the corner of her eye, Allison caught sight of the group that had been following her. As they hesitated and began to retreat, her heart steadied. The distraction had worked; her pursuers were falling away.
The one-eyed man laughed maliciously as he shoved her into the car. “What does it matter if you’ve got a boyfriend? Let him come find me if he’s man enough. Let’s see who hits the ground first!”
His words were laced with overconfidence, so much so that he missed the sudden change in her demeanor. The woman who had seemed so helpless moments before now sat quietly, her face devoid of fear.
From beneath her jacket, her hand moved deliberately, revealing a blade.
“Mr. Williamson, Alice has been kidnapped!”
The men dressed in black suits, tasked with shadowing Allison, knew there was no way they could outpace the vehicle speeding away. With no other option, they immediately contacted Jareth to report.
“The kidnapper has only one eye. He’s got the look of someone from Immortal Pharmaceuticals,” one of them said urgently. Jareth’s expression tightened as he processed the unexpected news. Without delay, he passed it along to Verruckt.
“Mr. Shaw, the thug threatened to… strip her,” Jareth added grimly.
He pulled out his phone and shared pictures of the scene. The photos showed an abandoned alley littered with discarded bandages and an overturned bottle of disinfectant, evidence of Allison’s resistance.
Verruckt’s normally calm demeanor darkened. A quiet, seething anger rolled off him in waves, and the air in the room seemed to thicken.
“These fools must have a death wish,” he muttered, his voice cold and filled with menace.
Noticing Verruckt’s rising fury, Jareth quickly proposed, “Should I send some of our men? We might still have time to intercept them.”
“No, I’ll deal with Immortal Pharmaceuticals personally.” Verruckt’s tone was sharp and final.
He slid his watch off his wrist, placing it neatly on the table as though preparing for a fight.
“Spread the word, I want a face-to-face with this one-eyed thug,” he ordered.
“Yes, Mr. Shaw,” Jareth answered without hesitation.noveldrama
Elsewhere, the night deepened, shrouding the world in thick darkness. The distant hum of neon signs flickered faintly behind them as the car carrying Allison sped away from the city. Time felt stretched and uncertain. Allison wasn’t sure how long they had been driving until she noticed the glow of urban lights fading into nothingness.
The vehicle finally came to a stop in a desolate area.
The one-eyed man turned to her with an unsettling grin, his one good eye roving over her figure. He wiped the slobber from the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand.
