Chapter 333

Noelle didn't say a word, but the hand that had been ready to push him away eventually fell slowly back down. She turned her gaze to the window once more.

The night in Coppersville was still breathtaking. Beyond the flashing neon lights were the glowing windows of residential buildings, a sea of illuminated homes-a scene of beauty and vibrancy.

Yet, in Noelle's eyes, there was only endless coldness.

She knew. She and Hendrix could never return to the past, and there was no way back.

But Hendrix seemed unwilling to accept that.

Noelle thought that perhaps, at this moment, he might finally understand. And so, even the strength to blame her seemed to have left him.

When Noelle woke up, it was already the next morning. The room was still empty except for her. She was long accustomed to mornings like this. After freshening up, she headed out directly.

Today was Craig's discharge day. With the matters concerning Elm Group now settled, Craig, as the general manager, had a mountain of tasks awaiting his attention.

Noelle handled his discharge paperwork and returned to the hospital room, only to find Sandra already there.

To cover the bruises on her face, Sandra wore heavy makeup, with her hair down. It was a stark contrast

to her usual gentle demeanor. At the moment, she was persuading Craig to pursue another investment opportunity.

Although the formalities had been settled, and Elm Group was now completely separated from the Swanson family, Craig was clearly unwilling to accept such an outcome. Sandra was making an effort to encourage him, hoping to help him stage a comeback.

The moment Noelle entered, Sandra's voice faltered briefly But she quickly recovered, flashing a smile as she said, "Noelle, don't you agree? These days, resources shift so rapidly, so we must seize opportunities.

"This project has been reviewed, and it's really promising. Plus, Maxwell is planning to invest, too." Sandra's words reminded Craig. "Oh, right. What about Magwell? It's been so long since he's come, hasn't it? I've been hospitalized for so many days, and he hasn't even bothered to show his face!" "He's been busy! You know how hard things are for him with the Quinlan family right now. That's why he's working so hard to seize this opportunity.

"If this project succeeds, he'll firmly establish himself among the Quinlans. Once that happens, you won't have to worry about returning to the glory days of Elm Group."

Craig furrowed his brows and remained silent.

Noelle, however, was uninterested in all of this. She simply reminded him, "We can leave now."

Craig grunted in response and closed the file in his hand. "Let's go home."

Okay, let's head home." Sandra's smile immediately brightened as she assisted Craig in walking out. Noelle followed behind them, pulling Craig's suitcase.

The Swanson residence, which had been

cant for some time, had become quite dreary. Even though the

housekeepers cleaned the house daily, the air of decay lingered, impossible to wipe away.

Craig quickly went upstairs to rest, and Noelle had no intention of staying long. After packing up her things, she prepared to leave.noveldrama

But Sandra quickly blocked her path.

"You're feeling pretty smug, aren't you?" She tilted her head back. "You must be thrilled after watching that show last night, huh? I'll tell you this, Noelle. Everything that's happened is your fault! If it weren't for you, would I have ended up like this?"

"So what?" Noelle's expression remained emotionless. "What are you trying to say?"

"I'm saying..." Sandra took a big step closer to her, her eyes fixed on Noelle. "I'll make you pay for this. I will!"
