Chapter 175

But at that moment, Noelle suddenly felt that the envelope was like a hot potato, as if no place was safe enough for it

In the end, she simply pulled it out and placed it among the pile of books on her desk. It looked rather conspicuous

But when Hendrix returned that evening, he didn't seem to notice it

He seemed to be in a particularly good mood lately. After taking a shower, he walked over, closed Noelle's laptop, and then picked her up without hesitation.

Since Noelle had refused to move out of the apartment, and Hendrix couldn't keep holding back forever, he had rented the room next door.

Now, no one could interrupt them anymore.

That evening, Coppersville saw its first snowfall of the winter.

Noelle didn't have any special feelings about snow, but Hendrix seemed to like it a lot. Otherwise, why else would hé have pressed her against the window to admire the view for so long?

By the end, Noelle's legs had gone weak, and with tearful eyes, she begged him repeatedly. Only after

hearing her call him "baby" several times-as he wished-did Hendrix finally carry her back to bed.

By the time he was done, Noelle was already on the verge of falling asleep.

Hendrix carried her to the bathroom when he saw her not movingnoveldrama

"Let's go to Dynalis in two days. What do you think?" he asked.

Noelle tried to keep her eyes open. "For?"

"Vacation, and to see the snow."

The latter reason scared Noelle, and she quickly shook her head. "No."

Hendrix chuckled and responded, "I don't mean it that way I literally meant to see the snow for real."

Noelle couldn't help but glare at him before saying, "I'm not interested."

"But I am, and you're coming with me."

As Hendrix spoke, he cornered her in the shower, his stance practically forcing her to agree.

Noelle had no choice but to plead for mercy repeatedly.

In the end, she gave in to his proposal.

By the time they stepped out of the bathroom, the first thing they heard was the ringing of Hendrix's phone. The caller had been persistent, with one ring after another.

Hendrix placed Noelle on the bed, drying her hair with one hand while picking up the phone with the other." Hello."

"Mr. Freeman."

Noelle was sitting close to him, so she could clearly hear the voice on the other end of the line.

"Madam Freeman has been in a car accident. She's in the hospital now, and the doctors are saying her condition isn't good."

As the person finished speaking, Noelle could distinctly feel Hendrix pausing. Then, his grip on the phone tightened.

"What did you just say?"

"Madam Freeman got into a car accident, and she's in critical condition. You need to come now!"

"Which hospital?" Hendrix's voice calmed down, but his pursed lips showed how worried he was. The person told him the address.

Hendrix didn't say anything, hung up, and stood up.

He opened the closet to change his clothes, but for some reason, his fingers suddenly started trembling, so much so that he couldn't even button his shirt.

Noelle quickly stepped forward, gently pushing his hands aside and fastening the buttons for him.

Her own fingers were trembling, too, but Hendrix, whose mind was a complete blank at the moment, didn't notice her unease.

As she helped him put on his coat, she looked at him and said, "I'll go with you."
