Ch.47 Who?

Ch.47 Who?

This dungeon wasn't in any city, it was on an island isolated from the outside world. This island had only one purpose, it was to seclude any individual the lesser royalties thought of as enemies. Lesser royalties were royalties that once had a blood connection to the royalties of Graham.

The lesser royalties wouldn't be satisfied in living in poor cities. As soon as they had enough capital, they moved closer to the capital city of Graham. The local nobles appeared as the lesser royalty left. The fox would be the king of the mountain when the tiger left. This island was such a place, another one the lesser royalties abandoned.

The island had floors, the nobles only dared to go to the first floor. There was no knowing what kind of monsters the lesser royalties had locked away. This island was those even lesser royalties didn't know how to kill and used as their last resort of trapping them.

The nobles never went above the first floor and the first floor was where Zion was currently cuffed. No noble wanted another noble to have Zion for himself. This island was the perfect place and what they needed. As long as they didn't go beyond the first floor, everything would be fine.

Zion was looking at the newcomers. Currenly he was like a trapped animal in a zoo. No matter how ferocious a was tiger, in the zoo. He was just entertainment for others, but it didn't matter for Zion. Something was telling him this place wasn't where he would rot away.

The more in danger Zion was, the calmer he got. There was never a time when he was as much in danger as he was now. While Zion was cooling his heart down, the youngster couldn't help but be smug, no matter how he tried to act brave. Today he would unreveal Zion's mask.

Zion looked a the boy who had an animosity towards him, his face wasn't someone Zion knew. While the boy looked at Zion ready to pounce at him, his father knuckled his fist up before abruptly hitting the young boy in his head.

"Father, why are you hitting me" The son couldn't believe what just happened and he wasn't the only one as Zion was also perplexed.

"Why are glaring at your older cousin instead of showing your respect" The father angrily said. The son's brain couldn't process what just happened. Cousin? Who? This pretender prisoner?

" Father did you eat something wrong, how could I have a cousin that never existed, never to mention a criminal like him? Father, I can't accept this" The son believed his father was playing tricks on him because he had shown his dislike towards someone his father had approved.

The father put his hand behind his back and used his other hand to swipe in front of his face. Zion could see resemble he never thought he would see in this place. This person resembled Val, Zion's father.

"Good, it seems you recognised who I resemble," The elder man said smiling. Behind him, someone was panicking internally. This was the first time his father had come to visit Zion, they wouldnt have had time to plan this prank on him. Was he really his cousin?

The son tried to see what exactly was so different about his father, it seemed he had concealed his face with a spell. After waiting for his father to turn around his way, he couldn't see any changes. What was Zion so surprised about?

Witnessing his son's puzzled expression, the father laughed before explaining to his son" Yes, I wanted to hide my face but it would be weird if I kept my true face from my own family, don't you think so?" The son nodded to his father's words.

It would have been awkward to call him father with a new face, one different from the beginning of his life. Fortunately, his father had enough wisdom to consider this.

Looking towards his new cousin" Why didn't you escape when the soldier came to capture you? The soldiers that came to get you were just normal soldiers. You shouldn't have had any problem if you were truly strong" This was one of the reasons he thought Zion was just a weak man who was hiding from the world"

He could have beaten the soldiers and nobody would have said anything since they were just normal mortals. If any noble said anything, it meant their normal troops were mortals. Admitting that was a weakness other nobles would pray on. They had banded together to pressure the Thundersons but there was almost no trust amongst themselves.

"What would be the point if I hurt the normal soldiers, they are just carrying an order. I didn't have to hurt them nor had any reason to. Is that enough reason COUSIN" Zion asked the son, knowing he hated the fact that he was now his cousin.

The father could see Zion was having fun. He could imagine he was bored sitting in the dark alone. It was alright if they ruffled a little bit but it wouldn't be good for their future if some scar was born from this. " Alright boys, let's settle this our way"

The father took keys out from god knows where and he opened the cuffs that binded Zion. Zion felt amazing, he looked at the cuffs. He was sure now. The cuffs sealed something else than just his strength. The cuff made his body weak, he could have barely walked in that state.

" How are you feeling, those cuffs are something even us nobles can't make. Almost forgot to introduce myself. We are Griftons, my name is Felix and this insolent son of mine is Brayden" Felix warmly smiled.

Brayden looked at the cuffs, they looked like any normal cuffs. Brayden walked towards the cuff and grabbed it before his father could say anything. The moment his hands came in contact with the cuffs, his body fell into the ground like a doll without a soul.

Brayden felt his whole being encapsulated in a tiny bottle. He couldn't move a finger no matter how he tried to struggle. All he needed to do was lift his hand from the cuff. He couldn't produce one sound let alone move his body. Zion came to help Braydon, he did have little fun with him but he had no intention to hurt him.

After getting his body up, Brandon could feel his blood flowing through his body. He didn't know what in the world he had just experienced. Felix saw his son's expressions, the cuffs were potent but not to the point Braydon was feeling. He went closer to see the cuff. He could see words written in the cuffs in a foreign language.

Spirit confinement

Felix flinched at this information. He knew even lesser royalties

would have a hard time getting these cuffs, let alone nobles of secluded cities. Felix ran to see if the other cuffs on this floor were all spirit condiments but fortunately, they were just normal ones.

There was just one odd cuff, everything else was normal. Felix sighed in relief. The boys looked at Felix as he just suddenly started running towards the other cuffs. There were no cells in the dungeon, just an open hall. The cuffs were just a few meters away from each other.

Felix explained to the young ones" As the name spirit confident suggests, the cuffs thins the connection on your body. Not only does spirit confinement attack mentally but it also renders your body into a doll" Felix paused as he looked at Zion, Braydon who personally had witnessed the power of the cuffs, knew exactly what Zion did was close to impossible.

" I am guessing here but since this is the first floor and there's 18 floors below us. The lesser nobles probably never used this floor and never could have imagined there was spirit confinement on the first floor. The more floors you go down, the more tight security becomes. The question is, who left the spirit confinement here in the first place?"

" I am also curious how you were able to talk and move your body. It is not something you should be able to do." Felix looked at Zion but he could guess that Zion wouldn't know.

" I don't know either. I was feeling weak but just before you came, a purplish light entered my body and afterwards I could move better" Zion answered truthfully. He didn't need to hide anything from this new uncle, his instinct told him so. He didn't need to worry about this uncle and his instinct were never wrong, not even once.

Zion cuffed himself and sat on the ground. Brayden immediately asked what he was doing, his father had freed him. He didn't need to stay here anymore. Zion laughed at the young and the innocent Brayden. It was not that his uncle came to save him.

" Brayden, unfortunately, we didn't come to save Zion, we can't afford to do so" Felix looked at Zion and sincerely said " I am sorry Zion, your uncle is too weak to save you. All I can do is give you a little freedom once in a while"

"It's alright uncle. The army hiding on the island would have killed you and Braydon if you tried to help me" Zion knew the army was meant to be hiding and attack any prisoner that tried to escape. Unfortunately for the army, Zion could feel their bloodlust from miles away.
