Ch. 19 Home

Everyone heard the little kid's voice but the intensity was still the same, until Val's head crawled out of Nero's fur. Everyone could finally recognize him and put their swords and spears down.

Seeing everyone had calmed, Raiz who was flying in the sky came down to introduce himself but humans put the guards up again and Val had to convince them he wasn't a threat. They all thought that maybe a wolf could be tamed but how do you tame a bee? Was it even possible?, especially considering its big size .

Raiz was surprised by the number of humans. They were way too many, they might be alright outside the forest but inside the forest, they were just food ready to be eaten. From what Val told him, they weren't a powerful family but the family that was good with money.

They were at least 400 humans camping here. Raiz knew if they moved and some monster got their scent,it was impossible to protect all of them. He told his plan to get more reinforcement before they could all leave. Val welcomed it, better that they could get more secured while they traveled.

While Raiz flew away to get more help, Val had to consider how to convince them to enter the monster's city, without sounding like they were going to die. Calling all of them together in an open field a bit far away, he was immediately bombarded with questions.

" How did you tame the wolf"

" You weren't gone that much, how did you manage to do that"

"Hold on you. Everyone is missing something, that bee was definetly a powerful one. Such a beast wouldn't take orders from anyone"

" Are you being threatened by that bee?"

Hearing all of them speak at the same time, Val couldn't help but sight. They weren't to be blamed, they were just normal men and woman, now they were fighting for their survival. It was hard for anyone to keep their wits together, especially considering how they had tough times arriving in the forest. The same forest that could end their lifes.

" I understand all of you have your questions but right now we need to act,so i will tell you what happened and what we need to do" Val calmly said

Everyone listened carefully, how it started to how it ended. The part where the scroll was now in the hands of monsters, made the elders frown and even sad. They came all the way here because of that one scroll. It could also have been their only hope back to the city and revive the family.

Everyone was getting emotional, Val knew exactly about their thoughts. Their hope was that scroll and now that it wasn't in their hands, they were in complete darkness or so they thoughts.

"I think you are misunderstanding something. We didn't lose this completely. The scroll was an entry for us to get into the clan. Clan that is full of powerful and intelligent monsters. Our family is not going down"

Val snapped everyone back from their gloomy thoughts. As he thought they still didn't believe that living with the monster was any better but they knew staying here would only be a dead end. They had to gamble, believe in Val and hope living with the monster was possible.

Before long ,Raiz came back with Aurora and every bee that could come. The next day in the morning, everyone was ready to move. Of course, they couldn't use the carriage in the forest or so they thought until one of the excited bees decided to pave the way.

This wasn't as difficult as they thought for Raiz and Brav, who were still brimming with energy. Raiz would fly in the sky and cut down the trees with Brav. Aurora who saw the chance took half the bees and started carrying the trees back. Thanks to the efficiency everyone had, it didn't take long before they arrived at the pitch-black walls.

After they saw Moon, the other half bees including Raiz, Brav and Nero went back to help carrying the trees back. Leaving only Moon to proceed with the humans but luckily for Moon Val knew what they had to do,once again leaving Moon jobless.

" Everyone touches the pillar before the wall. After that, go close to the wall and a door will open for you to go through"

Val gave clear instructions but it was hard to be the first one to try as everyone hesitated. The one that came forward was none other than Elder Green . He didn't know about others but he trusted Val and would put his life on line if needed for him.

The moment he put his hand on the wall. Surprisingly enough his rank ended up being a member, one higher than civilian. He got through the wall which was followed by everyone else soon after. There were altogether 303 family members.

An unexpected event happened after almost half of Thundersons got in. There was someone that was denied access. It was a boy around 15 years old. The parents immediately got scared of what would happen. The mother started sopping.

Moon got close to the boy and asked.

" Did you think about doing anything bad"

The boy nervously looked at the talking monster with his eyes clearly hostile against this invader. When Val saw this, he was truly worried that the Moon would get angry. Val was part of the clan but the boy who was denied was different matter.

"I know you are a monster. After we go through that gate. You will make us your slave and eat one of us every day. I won't let that happen, i won't let you" The boy yelled with passion.

Moon was flabbergasted. Was he really that scary, even a kid thought of him this badly? He needed to change his impression before he was wronged again. Moon thought as he looked at the people that were still waiting for their turn to touch the pillar.

"Have you ever seen a cloud that could talk like me"

" No, I haven't"

" Have you seen yourself what i do or do you judge me for what others say ?"

" I ... i "

" Are all humans good people?"

When this question was asked by Moon. The boy remembered hearing why they were moving in the first place. It was because some bad humans wanted to steal their fortune. He was old enough to understand how society worked.

" No, there are evil humans too"

" You are right and if they are good and bad people in humans. Couldn't there also be a good monster?"

The boy was genuinely surprised. He always viewed the monsters as the ones that were dark and pure evil. Something opened up inside him. For the first time, he looked at the cloud without having biased hostility.

" Good, inside that wall is our home which from now on is yours too"

Seeing how his eyes changed when he was looking at Moon. Moon was satisfied and told to try again touching the pillar. As the boy touched it the second time. This time instead of being silent, a passage opened up for him.

Val was truly impressed by how Moon handled the situation and he wasn't alone as the parent were truly thanking the cloud from bottom of their heart, before the family entered inside. The parents rank ended up jumping straight to members.

Everything else was normal and everyone made it. Including horses, as long as they touched the pillar, they could enter with their carriage. When they got inside, they realized that they needed to rebuild the buildings, as the ones that stood couldn't possibly be called buildings.

The bees went back and forth carrying the trees back home. Thundersons were happy to have many blocks of wood. They needed woods, when they were going to build real houses. Thankfully inside the walls, the cold wasn't reaching Claustar and everyone could sleep without house for now.

Thunderstons started building houses even when it got late, following instruction of Green. He built himself a mansion in the mountains, when he wanted piecefull times. When others were done with trees, they also came to help.

First, it felt weird ordering monsters to build. Raiz who was a little unsatisfied that his buildings weren't enough in the eyes of the others, was a little sad but that didn't stop him from helping to build.

After a while, Green yelled at them to stop as it was late. The next morning they continued with the same effort. Everyone who was able to help in any way came to give a hand. Thundersons oddly got used to having monster fly by every other second.

Moon watched as things got even busier than ever. It looked funny seeing monsters and humans running left and right but it was truly a good feeling to see the harmony bringing all of them together.

Moon didnt know but the reason they had more harmony was because of the moment they touched the pillar. They had a bond thicker than a blood.
