We had to turn back, because Lord wasn’t in the bathroom, but in his room.

,,Lord! Lord I need to talk to you!” Mily knocked on his door. Half a minute passed until the door opened, revealing a tired Lord.

,,What do you want?” he asked ,,In fact” he looked around ,,why are you all here?”

,,We need to talk about a certain incident that included a certain pink jar…”

,,I had red hearts…” Erika commented. Mily waved her hand trough the air.

,,Same thing! So, Lord, do you happen to know anything about it?”

,,No…” he tried closing the door, but Mily was quicker. She grabbed the handle and swung the door open, so that we could all see inside. Erika gasped at the sight and Saki murmured an “I knew it”.

Floating around Lord’s room were souls. They looked like little floating orbs, just like Millie’s, but different colors.

,,Lord, what in the name of the librarians are you doing here?!” Mily shouted, demanding an explanation.

Ok,ok interrupting the narration here. I don’t think Mily ever said “ in the name of God” or “For God’s sake”. She always mentioned these librarians. Midari told me that the librarians were Mily’s belief, but that’s all. Just wanted to add this little detail here.

,,Please don’t shout…” was all Lord managed to say.

,,You little shit! YOU’RE EXPERIMENTING ON SOULS AREN’T YOU?!” Midari accused him.

,,That would explain the disappearance of students…” Erika added.

,,Lord, listen to me. Where did you get the souls?” Mily tried calming down. Herself, not Lord.

,,She brought them to me…said it was a gift…”

,,Who Lord?! WHO?!” Midari was extremely angry at him.

,,Hey guys, try calming down a little. You’re traumatizing him” Millie tried defending him. Instead, Lord saw this as an opportunity and ran away, past Mily. But before he could escape, Midari grabbed his hair, thwroing him to the ground.

,,Midari no!” was the last thing Saki managed to shout before a lightning struck Lord. He yelled, desperately trying to escape Midari’s anger. She struck him a second time, but before she did, she starting floating out of a sudden. Then, an invisible force smashed her against a nearby wall. I looked around to see who was responsible for it.

,,I believe Saki just told you to stop” Erika calmly told Midari ,,We can discuss this without the use of violence.”

Mily sighed in relief, but Midari wasn’t about to allow Erika to tell her what to do. Instead, attacked both her and Lord. She moved her index finger up and down, making a lightning hit Erika and the other one Lord. Erika gracefully moved out of the way, but Lord wasn’t so lucky.

Then, the newest wave of electricity Midari cast, struck her back. Her own ability turned against her and I didn’t have to think much to figure out where that came from. Mily was reciting a spell and Midari didn’t stand a chance against it.

,,Mily! Stop, please, stop!” Midari was crying at this point, but Mily wasn’t stopping. She truly looked evil.

Then out of a sudden, Millie jumped on Mily, making her lose focus and thus stopping her spell.

,,STOP IT! Just stop everyone!” she shouted. From what I remember, Millie had always hated conflict.

The room was absolutely trashed. Lord was in a bad condition, but not as bad as Midari, who looked like she had entered the coma like state, where a ghosts’ soul, a ghosts’ core energy, would try to repair itself.

The whole conflict ended abruptly, with everyone going to their respective rooms. I had to carry Midari to hers. Mily helped Lord, since she wasn’t hurt or anything. Erika said she was ok and with that she walked to her room by herself shutting the door with a slam.

Later on, Midari’s brother was called because of what happened to his sister. Mily explained everything to him and the poor guy looked devastated. He went straight to his sisters’ room, cursing himself because he wasn’t there for her, closing the door as well.

After this, I went to the kitchen, where I found Mily. She looked like she was about to cry.

,,Uh Mily?” I finally had the courage to talk to her.

,,Yes, Luna?” she turned around to look at me. Mily looked very tired.

,,Can you please explain what happened with Lord? Midari said something about experimenting on souls…”

,,Oh yes…take a…take a seat…” she pointed at a chair and I did as told.

,,First, allow me to explain…Lord’s family…”

,,What do you mean?”

,,As you’ve noticed, Lord is a ghost of a very special kind. He’s not like you, Midari etc. His soul is constantly changing, that’s why he’s growing up. Now, back to his family…and what I know from his backstory… Lord is the youngest child of this self proclaimed king. And Lord’s got a big sister. And recently they started talking. From what Lord told me today, his sister delivered him those souls of the poor students from the school, because he told her that he was interested in magic that involved souls. Now, experimenting on souls, changing the energy and core of the soul, is part of it, but it’s illegal. Like not illegal, because you can’t go to jail because of it…”

,,…Don’t tell me there’s a jail for ghosts…”

,,…You’d be surprised…Anyway, it’s basically black magic. And Lord is still a kid, so he shouldn’t be messing with it. I don’t understand how he’s able to cast such powerful spells, since he’s done it before. So, continuing, his sister brought him the souls and he started chaining them. One soul turned into the thing that attacked Midari. I don’t know why the jar was in Midari’s room though, but that doesn’t matter.”

,,Now that was quite the story! So what are you going to do with the rest of the souls? Can we still eat them??”

,,Yeah. But I don’t know how good they taste.”

,,How’s Lord doing? “ I asked, a little worried.

,,Better than Midari…Misaki’s still with her, isn’t he?”

,,Yeah. Also I’ve been meaning to ask you, but…do you have a crush on him?” Mily glared at me and then started laughing. Friendly reminder that that was the only time I saw her laugh.

,,Bold of you to assume I like guys. Also, you might want to check up on Lord” and with that she got up.

,,Mily!” she turned around.

,,What?”

,,You looked amazing today. When you were chanting that spell!” I told her.

,,Why thank you! But…I thought you said I was weird.” Remembering that, I felt like tge biggest jerk.

,,No, no! You’re not weird, I was just angry…Angry that my sis is spending more time with you than with me.”

,,Oh…” was all she said and then left the kitchen, leaving me to wonder why the hell I just told her that.

,,Heyyyy Lord” I opened his door. Lord was laying in his bed, headphones in, while writing in his journal/diary.

,,Lord? Can you hear me?” I shouted. Lord heard me and flinched, quickly removing his headphones.

,,Yes?”

,,How are you feeling?” I moved closer and took a seat on his bed. Lord hugged his legs.

,,Better, I guess.”

,,I’m glad to hear that” I smiled at him.

,,Luna, do you think I’m stupid?” The question surprised me.

,,No? Why would you be stupid?”

,,…I was stupid for trusting my sister…”

,,No. You’re not stupid for trusting her, because she’s your sister and you’re supposed to trust your siblings. She’s the dumb one here. Don’t let her discourage you!”

,,Yeah, yeah you’re right. I just thought that I finally found someone who understood me.”

,,But who’s this mystery sister of yours?” I wanted to know.

,,Well, she’s my older sister and her name is Lady…”

,,Lord and Lady. I like the sound of it!”

,,Yeah yeah” he was a little annoyed ,,She’s alive and she lives with our dad.”

,,And how did you manage to talk to her? If she’s alive.” Lord picked up his phone with one hand and pointed at it with the other one. I forgot Mily gave us phones.

,,That’s how. She texted me one day and then we started talking. Lady was very nice to me but after this…I don’t want to talk to her anymore” he dropped his phone.

,,Understandable.”

,,Uh” Lord awkwardly started around ,,Do you want to play something? I’ve got…” he stood up and checked his desk ,,I’ve got playing cards!” he said, showing the deck off.

,,Yeah sure.”

,,Knock, knock” I tried catching Misaki’s attention. After playing with Lord I decided to check on Midari. I was worried about her too and I wanted to see if she was awake. I wanted to properly apologize. Misaki noticed me and murmured a “hi”. He looked so sad, holding his sisters’ hand.

,,She woke up for five minutes. Her soul is basically healed, but she needs to rest.” Misaki informed me, probably expecting me to get out.

,,I came here to apologize.”

,,Figured.” The turned his head back to look at his sister.

,,Uh, call me when she wakes up again…?”

,,Yeah, yeah.”

I left in disappointment. I mean sure, I was disappointed that I didn’t get to talk to Midari. But I was also disappointed that her brother didn’t talk to me. We never got to discuss that novel we both liked.

,,Luna, get out of the way!”

I turned my head into the direction of the voice. Saki clapped his hands and chanted something. He made an ice spear appear, which he directed in the opposite side of the hallway. The spear hit yet another creature like the one that attacked Midari, immediately killing (?) it.

,,What was that?!” I yelled.

,,Turns out Lord created a few more of these” Saki summoned another spear, sending it right through the body of another creature that appeared out of nowhere ,,There’s a whole bunch of them in the school yard. Mily’s taking care of them right now.” I ran towards the nearest window and looked down. Mily was graciously destroying every single monster she saw.

,,Come on! There’s probably more in the school!” Saki yelled for me to follow him. After an hour everything was taken care of and we double checked every single hallway to make sure that there weren’t any loose souls on the run.

,,That was the most exhausting thing I’ve ever done!” Millie collapsed on a couch in the living room. We did have a living room (even though Wendy found the name funny, because it was the “living” room and we were all dead) but it wasn’t the fanciest room on earth. There were around four couches placed in a square in the middle. Mily had installed a television so that she and Saki could watch the news (and Midari to watch her daily episodes of Dexter’s laboratory). Millie would sometimes watch documentaries on National Geographic but I would always switch to my alien sightings documentaries, which annoyed her.

,,So…what are we going to do about him?” I tried asking.

,,Well” Saki replied despite me having asked Mily ,,What is there to do about him? Sure, we’ll take his magic tools away, but that’s all we can do.”

,,Aren’t you going to scold him, Mily?” I accentuated her name, in hopes that she’ll reply herself this time.

,,I already did.”

I was hoping for some kind of fight between them. This may sound evil or something, but I genuinely enjoy fights. And debates.

,,And what did he say?” Millie wanted to know.

,,You know what? That’s actually none of your business. Everyone here, I mean.” Even though she said that, the witch only looked at me.

,,Anyway” Millie changed the subject ,,Saki can you pass me the remote?” Saki did as told and Millie started watching TV without a care in the world. Mily got up at some point, leaving the room, leaving Saki who said he wanted to watch TV with Millie.

I also left after some time, as it got boring. A few hours later, it was dinner time and since she woke up, Midari joined us.

,,How are you feeling?” Mily placed a plate in front of Midari.

,,Better” was all she said.

,,What would you like to eat?”

,,Water” was her reply.

,,I said eat, not drink. Come on, there’s pizza…”

,,I don’t want any. I’m just here because my brother told me to do so” Midari glanced at the door, probably wanting to leave.

,,But you never miss Pizza night…” Mily tried again.

,,Mhm fine…” Midari then ate two slices before announcing that she was going to her room.

Misaki left while we were watching horror movies in the living room, saying that he’ll return the following day.
