Damien wiped the blood off his face and burnt the remaining stains away. After a small white flame bathed his body, what came out was a brand new Damien. He no longer had any wounds on his body as he appeared to go another round. Damien’s plan was to hold out for as long as possible while earning the satisfaction of Aya so that he could be done with this test. Again, he placed himself in a defensive stance and waited for Tenzin to make a move. What followed suit was the same as before. Damien was battered badly again, but this time he fractured several fingers as a repercussion. Tenzin followed the same pattern, hoping to break him down in every possible way.
This went on in multiple exchanges where it appeared Damien was an immortal tank. He would keep coming back without any major injuries and if there was one, he would heal it to a point where he could continue. Damien hasn’t even reached halfway through his reserves, while Tenzin was pretty much through his mental one. He felt annoyed he could not see Damien bow down to accept his defeat, so he made a change of plans.
“I am over this! You never know when to quit and accept that you are not even an opponent for me. God you bore me.”
Damien was a little stunned for words at his frustration, but it didn’t affect him much. He just needed to continue surviving to a point even he did not know. That was until Tenzin disappeared from sight with no indication where he was coming from. It was deathly quiet to the point Damien could hear his heart begin racing. He was able to keep up with his movement this entire time, but things suddenly changed. Damien had no choice but to believe in his Dao Domain to counter what was coming.
‘He’s at my side? That fast?’
Out of nowhere Damien felt the breach of the Domain coming. The moment he felt it he tried to counter Tenzin’s attack like usual, but it was nothing like before. Tenzin moved faster than Damien could comprehend and unleashed a volley of attacks that almost battered Damien’s internals to a pulp. Damien’s world turned upside down, where pain was all he could feel. He had no chance for retaliation and dealt with the brunt of it.
Aya and Frey watched Damien basically be tortured, but they both did nothing. Frey had a cutesy smile on her face as Aya had an unknown expression. Frey watched if Aya were to interfere, however she was surprised Aya had not a single ounce of sympathy.
“Poor boy, it doesn’t look like it will end too well for him. What are you going to do if he dies? Find a new project to work on?”
“He won’t die, he’s just holding back and he doesn’t even know it. I have no worry because there is no way he will die to a bum like that Demon.”
Damien was at a point where he was beaten to a moment of clarity. The world appeared to have frozen. He was able to see all of Tenzin’s features to minute detail, however he also wasn’t able to move. It was like he was given time to figure out what to do next. He thought of everything he could possibly do, but there was nothing he could do to turn the tide. The most he could do is cause a big enough distraction to get out of the current pinch. Whatever came after that was not something he could think of.

Damien began by bringing forth the maximum amount of Mana as fast as he could to create a big explosion of white flames. He did at a speed where a vortex naturally occurred. In that split second he was frozen in time, Damien activated a flame explosion at his most powerful. It created a blast and shockwave that torched everything in a 100 meter diameter. Damien felt the pressure Tenzin was putting on him disappear, so he took that time to retreat. He made it to a point where he escaped the mess he made and watched everything calm back down. Damien was hoping this attack would hurt Tenzin to a point where he could no longer fight. It was his strongest attack he could muster up and the most devastating he had ever used. Once the dust settled, Damien looked on expectantly to see a battle riddened Tenzin, but reality was always cruel to one’s hopes and dreams. Tenzin stood tall in the middle of all of Damien’s destruction. He had close to no injuries except for slight burns on his skin. For the most part he looked exactly the same like nothing happened. A big part of being unscathed was due to his Rune Armor whose properties deflected up to 80% of an attack. The other 20% was dealt with his extraordinary body physique.
There were no words Damien could say, otherwise he would be cursing out every bad word he knew. He stood there stunned out of his mind, however Tenzin was not amused at what happened. For one he despised hot things like hot weather or drinks, so he hated Damien even more for that. Also, although it didn’t appear that he was hurt badly, he actually had underlying injuries. Some of his tissues were burnt up and so he lost quite a bit of muscle functions. Tenzin didn’t want to show any weakness so he decided to end this fight in the next move. It took him extreme discipline to not show any openings as he went after Damien. In a split second he launched a fist with all his strength. Damien was a sitting duck who didn’t even try to avoid the hit. Damien was hit square on, rupturing multiple organs and half his bones turned to dust.
Damien was near losing consciousness while he tumbled relentlessly across the ground. He felt like he was near death as his blood pressure dropped tremendously. The only thing he could think about was Aya swooping in and saving him from dying. He caught a quick look at them both in the sky. Frey was laughing hysterically, while it seemed to Damien that Aya was following suit. That was when all of his hope that he would be saved died away like a flame running out of fuel. His mind shut off from the despair he truly felt in his darkest hours. He was starting to realize that he could not rely on anyone in this world but himself. Everyone else was just a distraction to take off his mind from the things that really mattered to him. In some sense, Damien awakened something in him that was hidden deep in his subconscious, which took things for a change.
Damien was laid flat on the ground with his breath slowing down to a complete halt. Blood was stuck in his throat as his body tried to cough it out like a fountain. Damien felt cold in what he thought were his last moments, but once everything stopped functioning, a miracle happened. A white flame came floating out of his chest and covered his entire body as if he were being burnt alive. His body was being healed at an insane rate that shocked Frey and Tenzin. Aya didn’t make a move like she knew what was going to happen all along.
This transformation lasted for half a minute and once it was over the white flame converged together to form his core. It returned back where it came from and Damien took a breath once more. He coughed out the remaining blood in his throat which was filled with black toxins. Also a layer of grime secreted itself out of all of his pores and made a disgusting mess that woke him out of his stupidity. Without thinking he burnt it all away to take the smell away and now he was suddenly standing again facing Tenzin. During this time, Tenzin took the chance to heal himself with some pills so he was back to his full strength. Seeing that Damien was standing against him once more, he snapped out of the notion he won.
“What are you? An immortal? No matter, I will kill you if it’s the last thing I do and take whatever miraculous flame that is inside your body!”
Damien was not frightened by his threats, in fact he felt a cool calm like he never had before. Everything around him became much clearer than before. He noticed his skin was much smoother than before, practically shining in the sunlight. He was confused about what occurred to him. One moment he felt like taking a long and peaceful nap, then boom, he’s standing feeling better than ever. It never occurred to Damien that he was on his way to an eternal sleep, but he did remember how Aya did not help him. This caused his emotions to enter a new low. The scene where Frey and Aya were laughing replayed in his head until he unknowingly released a burst of bloodthirst. It emanated out of his body like a tsunami and it was nothing like he released before. All his emotions in his body were telling him to fight until every ounce of strength was used. It didn’t matter what happened to him or his body. All that mattered was to satisfy his thirst to see blood.
