"I have too many questions about what happened... I believe none of them will be answered..." Soren commented quietly, as he sat on a table to process the events that followed a few minutes prior, before giving up on thinking them too deeply, lest he wanted to experience an aneurysm from overthinking things and decided to check on his Hunter's Guild Card.

'Simple enough. Can't say it has an eye-catching design, but beggars can't be choosers.' After making that mental comment, Soren swiftly made his way towards the mission board and started going through all of the available quests in front of him. Once he finished scanning through the quests in front of him, he swiftly ignored all of the higher ranking quests and was left with three White Rank quests, all three of them being some sort of repeatable extermination job. One of the three quests were to hunt Lone Vermins inside the settlement, while the other two were for Hopping Rabbits and Lazy Squires.
Although Soren wasn't sure what kind of creatures the Lone Vermins were, he immediately chose that mission paper in a heartbeat and tore it, since he needed to get an idea about the entire process, before trying to perform any quests in the wild.
"Lone Vermin Hunt" Quest has been accepted.
Description: The Hunter's Guild requests any local hunter to exterminate these rats, since those rodents feast on our supplies. Be aware of their bites. The more hunted Vermins, the higher the reward from the guild.
Task: Hunt Lone Vermins: 0
'Guess I'll have to make the rounds. I wonder if I'll any players here.' Soren thought to himself, after closing the window and walking around the settlement for any wandering Vermins. Thankfully, he didn't have to walk around for long, since he found a rat, the same size as his own foot, wandering around with a stick in its mouth.
Although rats weren't exactly a new sight for Soren, since he had dealt with his fair share of them trying to invade his own shop, seeing a rat almost twice its own size certainly made him feel slightly apprehensive. That apprehension lasted for a few seconds though, since he reminded himself that it's just a slightly larger rat and dealing with it was the same as dealing with all of the other rats.
Unfortunately his resolve crumbled in seconds, since the rat immediately charged and jumped to bite his nose with a crushing bite, causing Soren to roll backwards, while screaming in pain. While the rat was clamping its teeth on his nose, Soren immediately tried pulling it with all of his might, but the rat's jaws were far more powerful than he expected and it didn't budge an inch. In a last act of desperation, he activated his Holy Touch spell and its effect was immediately apparent, since the rat screeched and cried in pain and it let go from Soren's nose, sealing its own fate as he used every ounce of his own strength and mana to crush the rat with his bare hands. It was only once he felt something breaking inside it, that the rat stopped moving whatsoever, allowing Soren to drop its disfigured carcass safely on the ground and finally give himself a moment to breath, while watching the carcass turn into particles and a pair of buckteeth appearing in its place.

"Motherf*cking hell... They say rats bite back only when they're cornered, not when they see the first moving thing in their f*cking vicinity!" Soren curse out furiously, while rubbing his nose and checking on his status.

"Urgh... At least I don't have to worry about using my pots. It's nice to see that there's a bit of an improvement at least." Soren commented with a sense of relief upon seeing the passive regeneration stat, before going through some of the more obvious changes, such as his increased MP and SP pools and even the MP's increase regeneration rate.
"Lucas. Mind if I ask you something something quickly?"
"Vitality increases HP and its regeneration rate, Wisdom for MP and Focus for SP." Lucas explained casually, as he had predicted Soren's question, due the status screen in front of him.
"How did you know what I would ask?"
"I'm literally watching and recording both you and your actions. I don't need to be genius to know what you'll ask, especially with you muttering everything you say."
"Urgh... I'll just get to grinding." Soren muttered in an embarrassed manner, before deciding to grab the rat's carcass, inserting inside his inventory and taking out his sword for his next encounter. Afterwards, he sat down for a couple minutes to regain some of his HP and MP, before continuing the search for more rats around the settlement. It wouldn't take long before another one appeared in front of him and within a few seconds, the rat lost its life, since Soren used the sword to block its initial charge and bite, before repeating the same hand crushing and Holy Touch combo. With his strategy formulated, he excitedly embarked on the Lone Vermin hunt for the next twenty minutes, before being met with another couple of panels in front of him.
Bless Magic Proficiency has leveled up. (+1 Intellect)
All Lone Vermins inside the settlement have been eliminated for the day. Please wait until tomorrow for more.
"What!? Since when did enemies have a daily spawn limit?" Soren uttered incredulously, as he had just killed his sixth vermin and stuffed its drops in his inventory. As he stared at the panel, he couldn't help but feel cheated out of his grinding spot, but could only accept it reluctantly, while slowly making his way towards the Hunter's Guild. Once he entered it, he made his way towards the counter where the employee was currently resting, before dropping the six Vermin carcasses in front of him and waking him up in the process.
"Oh!? What the...? Oh, it's just the rookie. You're already done with your hunt?" The employee asked tiredly, as he counted the corpses and pulled their buckteeth.
"M-More or less... Can't find more in the settlement." Soren answered, as he felt slightly terrified of the clerk's ability to pull the teeth with his bare hands.
"That's more than enough for me. Congrats on your first quest completion kid." The employee stated with a small smirk, as a panel appeared in front of Soren.
Congratulations on completing the "Lone Vermin Hunt" Quest. You have earned 18 Copper Coins and 1 [Trainee's Health Potion].
Once the panel disappeared, a small sack and another potion appeared in his inventory, before deciding to quickly leave the guild and making his way towards the blacksmith's and alchemist's shops, since he wanted to know the costs for equipment and potions and if it would be possible to sell anything for some extra cash.
