Marvin headed out of the house along with Olivia, they were headed down to the bus stop. "Alright, I packed the lunch Joe made for you, if you don't like that then there's some money in your lunch account for you," Olivia said as Marvin's bus began to pull up.
"Uh, your schedule's in your bag, along with a book and pen. We'll get the specific stuff later this weekend" Olivia rushed through her words as the bus pulled up in front of them. "Well uh...Have a great day" Olivia awkwardly gave Marvin a side hug.
"Yello, excited for a new school year" The bus driver greeted Marvin as he stepped onto the bus, "Ya can sit anywhere ya like," The bus driver told Marvin. The bus was completely empty at this point, it seemed the Kepplers were the first stop on the bus route.
'He seems like the talkative guy' Marvin looked back as he skipped the front row of the bus. 'The back's probably gonna be loud as well' Marvin thought pausing at the middle rows, he set his bag onto the chair and took his seat.
Ten minutes went by before the next stop was made, it was at a decently sized house, smaller than the Kepplers but still bigger than the houses Marvin saw in Houston.
A blonde girl got on the bus, she had purple streaks at the tips of her hair. She waved at the bus driver before taking a seat across from Marvin. She paid Marvin no mind, plugging her earbuds into her ear and leaning her head against the bus window as the driver took them to the next stop.
The next couple stops were similar to the one for the girls, people quietly made their way onto the bus, not talking to anyone and silently sitting down. Marvin was quite happy with the current situation, he didn't have to talk to anyone or listen to anyone, it was perfect for him.
That all ended at the next stop, as the bus was pulling up Marvin could see a group of rowdy kids, they were jostling with energy. 'I should've asked for headphones' Marvin was regretting not getting some audio device as the group of rowdy kids made their way onto the bus.
"Caleb I'm telling you, this year's gonna be lit. I'm gonna be starting JV WR, you're gonna be the starting tight end, and Bella's...you already know how it's going be with Bella" One of the kids talked loudly as the group made their way to the back.
Marvin recognized the kid talking, he was one of the wide receivers he had seen at the conditioning practice. The kid kept talking about how good he was going to be on JV, "Yeah that's good and all, but who's gonna be QB Adam?" Caleb asked.
Adam finally paused his constant chatter to think about what his friend had said, Marvin began paying attention to Adam's words, he wanted to know more about the other quarterbacks he would be dealing with.
"Well Darren and Mason are gonna be Travis's backup, so he's out" Adam began listing what the Junior Varsity quarterback room could be looking like.
"That leaves Wilson, and Danny" Adam listed out the quarterbacks he thought had the best chance to start. "Wait what about that new dude that was throwing dots?" Caleb asked, he remembered how well Marvin's passes were, so wouldn't he also have a good chance to start.
"Nah, dude showed up on the last day and I'm pretty sure he's a freshman so there's no way they'll let him be on JV, that only happens for guys like Travis and Marcus" Adam shut down Caleb's suggestion that Marvin could be a starter on Junior Varsity.
"Yeah you're right, Marcus and Travis have like fifty offers combined, it makes sense that they made JV as freshmen" Caleb found himself agreeing with his friend.
Marvin listened to the two boys talk among their friends, 'So I've got to beat Wilson and Danny' Marvin thought about the performances both quarterbacks had at the conditioning practice, he didn't even consider himself being put on the freshman team and not Junior Varsity.
"Alrighty, you guys watch your step as you get off" The bus driver pulled off to the student drop-off. Students instantly stood up, trying to exit the bus as quickly as possible.

Marvin waited in his seat, he was in no rush to get off the bus after everyone had made their way off the bus, Marvin decided to start making his way off. "You have a good day" The bus driver said goodbye to Marvin.
"Damn," Marvin said out loud as he saw the size of the school, despite coming to the football field for practice, Marvin hadn't actually seen the school. It was massive.
Marvin made his way inside the school being greeted by a large main hall. The ceilings were at an astronomical height to Marvin, in front of him was a grand staircase made from dark wood that led to a balcony overlooking the main hall.
Some flags hung off the balcony, they were the Texas flag, the U.S.A. flag, and the school's flag. Marvin didn't know where to go, everywhere he looked the hall just seemed to stretch for miles.
"Hey careful there, you almost stepped on Stormy" Someone grabbed Marvin by his hoodie, preventing him from moving forward. Looking down Marvin saw that he was about to step on a massive horse logo.
A navy blue ring with a thin silver lining between the horse and the ring surrounded the horse. "You must be new here" Marvin turned around to look at the person behind him.
The person was a brunette girl of similar height to Marvin, she had on a navy blue shirt with a horse in the center, she had on faded blue jeans, and a pair of white sneakers.
"Hi I'm Sadie a ridge runner, let me help you find your way" Sadie offered her hand for a handshake. It took Marvin a second to recollect himself, he reluctantly shook Sadie's hand.
"Do you have your schedule or should we head to the office?" Sadie asked and Marvin took off his bag to get out his schedule. Handing his schedule to Sadie she chuckled as she looked at it.
"Alright, so your first period for today is English Literature with Mrs. Sarah Johnson, that's right this way." Sadie began directing Marvin over to where his class was.
As they made their way to the class, Marvin looked around the hallway, looking at the various Murals and photos on the wall. 'Wow Joel's got one out here too' Marvin looked at the framed photo of Joel, he didn't get a chance to read the words underneath the photo.
Marvin also took a look at the students he and Sadie walked past, there were of various sizes with different styles, well as different as high schoolers could get. 'Jeans and white sneakers' Marvin thought as he passed the girls in the halls.
"Alright, this is you. If you have any questions just head over to the main office and ask" Sadie said before leaving Marvin at the doorway of the class.
Marvin made his way inside, there wasn't a teacher in the class but there were two students inside. 'Oh it's her' Marvin thought as he recognized one of the students in the class.
It was the girl he had seen earlier on his bus, she still had her earphones in ignoring the rest of the world around her. The other student in the class was a dude with glasses, he had a flannel shirt on with his notebook open.
Marvin walked into the class, sitting as far in the back as he could. He laid his head down on his desk, he was planning to take a nap until the teacher came in to start class.
"OOSAHH!!" A loud voice came into the class, it was a boy with a huge smile on his face. He walked in with two other boys at his side, they were being quite loud and obnoxious as they made their way to their seats.
'Dude, there's quite literally anywhere else' Marvin thought as the group sat in the row in front of him. They continued their loud conversation, causing everyone around them to increasingly get annoyed.
'It's far too early for all this' Marvin thought as he tried to bury his head deeper in his arms. He wouldn't have been as annoyed with the group of boys, but they were unbelievably loud and kept doing an obnoxious life.
"Hey, y'all gotta shut up" The girl in the room seemed to have had enough of the group of boys. There was a sudden pause after she had spoken, Marvin was surprised that she had actually decided to do something.
'Bold' Marvin thought as he saw the girl return back to her music. Marvin watched the boys remain stunned as the girl simply returned to her previous action, their expression entertained him.
"Ain't nobody else complaining, so why don't you just chill" One of the boys retorted at the girl, but she gave him no response back. This made him annoyed, her not responding made him seem like the loser in this.
'Dude just lower your tone' Marvin thought as he saw the boy get increasingly heated as the girl ignored his words. Thankfully for Marvin, the teacher walked into the room finally shutting up the group.
"Oh wow, there's already so many of you here," The teacher said as she walked into the class, she was carrying a stack of books. She had on thick glasses, her hair was in a ponytail and she had on a floral dress.
Marvin watched as the teacher made her way to her desk, dropping the stacks of books with a loud thud, the books must have been quite heavy as Marvin could see the sweat drops roll down her head.
"Well, there's still a while before the bell rings and we begin introductions, so you guys can just chill in here," The teacher said, moving her shoulders toward the end of her statement. After the teacher was done talking, Marvin went back to taking his nap, he had no interest in interacting with people in this class.
