Marvin was asleep in his room, he was laid still like a plank. The only movement in the room was the blinds moving due to air from the fans. 'Uhh, it's already morning' Marvin thought as he stirred awake, he groggily stood up from bed and made his way to the bathroom.
'First time, the kid's not waking me up' Marvin thought to himself, Austin had become his alarm clock during the weeks he had been here, he was always able to wake up right before Marvin, it was weird.
'Just gives me extra quiet ti-' Marvin opened his bathroom door and the sight he saw interrupted his thoughts. It was the white lady he had seen in his dream a few weeks ago, her hair still covered her face, the smile still present.
'Fuck man, this shit is getting way too realistic' Marvin thought, he couldn't believe that he was in a dream, everything felt so life-like that it was impossible to discern what was real and what wasn't.
"You look surprised to see me" The lady was the first to begin the conversation. She completely read Marvin despite his face remaining expressionless. "Come on don't look at me like that," The lady said, her smile growing wider as she looked at Marvin.
"Who are you and why are you here?" Marvin asked, he didn't know this lady, but like his blood-hungry father, she was becoming a recurring character in his dreams. He knew why his father was here, he was a major part of his life, same with his sister but 'I don't remember living with a white lady'
"Wrong question Marv" The lady replied, she suddenly disappeared from Marvin's view and the room suddenly twisted around Marvin, the bathroom tiles were shaking and the floor started to move in a wavy pattern. Everything was going crazy around Marvin, he was confused as he looked around wondering what was happening.
"WHO ARE YOU" Marvin heard the words he had told the woman but he hadn't talked, "Wrong question Marv" The woman's voice could be heard. The bathroom was becoming more chaotic, the mirror was cracking, and water had started spewing from the tap.
"WHO ARE YOU" The words were yelled harder, and things became even crazier. The tiles on the wall began to crack, the mirror was completely shattered. 'Shit' Marvin couldn't help but curse, he knew what was happening wasn't real but it felt so real.
"WHO ARE YOU...WHO ARE YOU...WHO ARE YOU" The words were coming faster and faster, things were getting worse and worse. Then it suddenly stopped, the mirror returned to its original form, the tap was back to normal, and the tiles were stable.
Marvin collapsed to the floor, resting his back on one of the cabinets, he took in huge deep breaths. "Wrong question Marv" The lady's voice whispered in Marvin's ear, then the door broke down. "Fucking hell " Marvin cursed seeing the knife in his hands, he knew what would be occurring next.

*Knock* "Brooke, wake up" Olivia knocked on her daughter's door, it was six in the morning and things in the Keppler household were starting. "Brooke it's time to wake up honey, first day of school" Olivia knocked again on Brooklyn's door, only leaving after she heard the shuffling of feet.
"Austin, if I don't hear that shower on in the next ten minutes," Olivia said at Austin's door, she needed him to be up in the next few minutes for him to make it onto the bus.
Heading back downstairs, Olivia took a deep breath, she was approaching Marvin's room. She hesitated to knock, she and Marvin hadn't really talked throughout his time in her house. She had tried to make conversation with him, but it just seemed to always fizzle out.
'How do you do it Austin' She thought about how her son always seemed to just be able to talk to Marvin with ease. Taking another deep breath, Olivia knocked on Marvin's door.
"Marvin, it's time to wake up," Olivia said softly, she knew she needed to wake Marvin up for school but she couldn't bring herself to raise her voice like she did with her kids.
"Marvin, it's your first day of school" She knocked again, waiting a few seconds she decided to head into the room. Opening the door she saw the neatly tucked-in blanket, the pillows laid perfectly right over the top.

`His duffle bag was still laid out in front of his bed, his shoes set right beside it. 'He's still not relaxed' Olivia thought as she saw Marvin's bag, she knew Marvin wouldn't get immediately comfortable with her family but it was close to a month now and he still had his duffle bag packed and ready.
"How can I help you?" Olivia almost shrieked when she heard Marvin's voice, she was so lost in thought when she came into the room that she hadn't heard the shower running. Turning around she saw Marvin, a towel wrapped around his waist, water dripping from his hair down to his legs.
"Uh yes, I just wanted to wake you, but you're already up, so I'll just head on out of here" Olivia nervously said before making her way out of the room leaving Marvin bewildered at her actions.
'She's always acting like that' Marvin thought as he watched Olivia leave his room, he didn't understand why the woman would always get so nervous around him, 'You brought me to your house, why get so freaked when you see me' Marvin wondered.
He quickly put the thought behind him and started to get dressed. It was his first day of school, he didn't feel nervous, in his mind it was just going to be a regular day. 'Just another day' He thought to himself.
He quickly got dressed, putting on dark wash jeans, with a white t-shirt on top, to finish the outfit he put on the new pair of Air force 1s the kepplers had gotten him and a purple hoodie with an infinity symbol on it. Austin told him he had to get the hoodie, it was from the line of some popular Atlanta rapper, Marvin wasn't against the decision, the hoodie did look nice.
Brushing his hair down, Marvin took a look at himself in the dresser mirror, 'Just another day' He told himself again.
Making his way out of his room, Marvin headed to breakfast table, Austin was already seated pouring himself a bowl of cereal. "Nice you got on the hoodie I picked. Are you excited for your first day?" Austin asked, his usual excitement couldn't be heard in his voice. 'Guess he's still waking up' Marvin thought.
He shrugged his shoulders at Austin's question, grabbing himself a bowl and pouring himself some cereal. "I'm not excited for school. It just comes with homework, quizzes, and tests..." Austin began listing his many complaints about school.
"The only good thing is football, but we don't even start practicing until Wednesday" Austin sighed greatly, he acted like his life was completely done with the start of school. Marvin simply watched his theatrics, he too didn't like school but not to the extent that Austin did.
"You need to hurry up with that breakfast, your bus will be here in five," Olivia walked by the breakfast table. She had her hair up in a bun, her shower robe was on. Marvin watched as she made her way through the kitchen, preparing a pot of coffee, unlike Austin her eyes were straight open and wired.
"I know, I've already got everything," Austin said, his mom always nagged him on the first day of school, he quickly downed his bowl of cereal before waving goodbye to Marvin and rushing upstairs to get his backpack.
The awkwardness moved in quickly after Austin had left, Marvin's eyes focused on his cereal, his mind focused on the day ahead of him. Olivia just stood around, she wanted to ask Marvin whether he was excited about school, but she didn't know how to broach the subject.
"You went with the hoodie, Austin picked out" Olivia decided to talk about Marvin's hoodie, she was immediately regretting the decision as the words left her mouth.
"Yeah, it's pretty comfortable" Marvin replied, he didn't make eye contact with Olivia, still focused on his cereal. Olivia was going to continue the conversation but was interrupted by her daughter.
"Mommmm, have you seen my shoes?" Her daughter asked from upstairs, Olivia sighed at her daughter's question. "They're out here by the front door" She answered.
Brooklyn made her way downstairs, she had on a white t-shirt that had a be nice graphic on it, and a pair of blue jeans. It was a very basic outfit, especially going by Brooklyn's standard, but she didn't want to dress too crazy for the first day.
"Thanks" Brooklyn said as she went to grab her white sneakers. Marvin finished his breakfast and went to put his bowl in the sink when Brooklyn dropped the worst news he could hear that morning, "Oh yeah Mom, I'm gonna head to school with Tesha and the other girls, Tesha's Mom's dropping us" Brooklyn said.
'Fuck, now she's gonna make me go with them' Marvin could already tell the decision Olivia would make about her daughter heading to school with her friends, 'Please let me just go alone on the bus' Marvin began pleading in his mind.
"Unless you plan on taking Marvin with you, the answer's no" Olivia's words were stern, leaving no room for discussion. Brooklyn was obviously upset with the decision, "You know I can't do that, Tesha's mom doesn't know him"
"Well, then I guess you get to introduce them to one another" Olivia was not refuting her decision. Brooklyn was left defeated at her mother's refusal, but she wasn't gonna give up yes, "What do you think Marvin, do you wanna go to school with me and my friends?" she asked with a smirk on her face.
"No" Marvin replied swiftly, he wanted that idea to be killed as fast as it was brought up, "See, even he doesn't wanna go. Are you really gonna force him to do something he doesn't want to do on his first day?" Brooklyn asked her mother trying to manipulate her feelings.
"If you truly don't want to I won't force you, and young lady if you try that gas-lighting shit with me, you're gonna see what real gas is," Olivia said before taking her coffee to her room.
"I guess you're smarter than the average football player," Brooklyn said to Marvin, but he was already heading back into his room.
