Marvin was laid down in a bed, his eyes shut. Any evidence of the fight he had been in was gone, his lip looked normal, there was no dried blood on his face and his eyes weren't swollen. He looked like he was at peace.
Marvin's eyes quickly opened, and he seemed annoyed as he scanned his surroundings, he removed the blanket that was placed over him and got out of bed.
'I hate this place' Marvin thought as he walked towards the door in the room, as he got closer he could hear voices yelling at one another, they were arguing about something but Marvin could not quite understand it through the door.
As he walked out Marvin saw his sister, a tall black girl with a beautiful set of hair, she was currently in a heated argument with another person, Marvin's father.
No one had yet noticed Marvin, so he remained silent until his father slapped his sister's face and punched her, "You are just evil"
Marvin's father turned to look at him, but the man's face wasn't there it was just a dark void, no mouth, eyes, or anything, yet a voice was still coming out.
"You dare call your father evil, are you stupid?" Marvin's father stressed the last part of his words, he began approaching Marvin, his stance getting ready for a fight.
"What type of children has god cursed me with, one can not think, and the other wants to resist his father's orders" Marvin's father spoke again, a punch then followed his words.
Marvin caught his father's punch and stabbed him, he had never picked up a knife and yet there was now a knife in his father's stomach. Yet this didn't slow down his father, Marvin was punched repeatedly before his father began choking him, his hands closed in on Marvin's neck, squeezing as much as possible.
Marvin knew this outcome was coming, it's been the same result for years now, "You demon spawn, don't you ever call yourself my son" Marvin's father spoke before Marvin blacked out.

Marvin was once again laid in bed, except this time his body looked anything but normal. His right eye was swollen to a disgusting degree, his lips were swollen and cut, and the rest of his body was badly bruised.
A woman was watching Marvin while he was unconscious, she wore a standard black business outfit, black pants that fell right above her ankles, and a white shirt that was draped by a black suit. To finish off her outfit, she wore open-toed black heels.
A frown was present on her face as she looked at the injured Marvin, "Two months, don't do anything for two months. That's all you had to do Marvin" The lady sighs, as she takes out a file from her bag. The lady was Marvin's social worker.

"This one's worst than his last" A blonde hair lady walks in, "I'm sorry for the all the trouble he's caused you, Emily" The business lady says.
Emily simply laughs off her apology, "There's no need, Jessica. I'm just doing my job"
Jessica smiles, and she begins talking to Emily about the various escapades Marvin had gotten up to.
"Ahhh" A soft sound came out of Marvin's mouth causing Emily to quickly rush to his side, "Marvin can you hear me?" The doctor asks, Jessica stays back, allowing the doctor to do her job before she talks with Marvin.
"Alright, I need you to give my hand a squeeze. You understand Marvin, squeeze" Marvin squeezed the doctor's hands, "Alright, can you open your left eye for me?" The doctor asked and Marvin opened his left eye. 'Okay no bleeding' Emily thought to herself as she scanned Marvin's eye.
"Good, good. What about your right eye, can you open that as well?" The doctor asked. "No" Marvin didn't even attempt to open it, he knew he wouldn't be able to. It felt like there was a weight on the eye forcing it closed.
"Okay that's just fine, well you want the good news or bad news?" Emily asked as she was done with her personal checkup, "Good news is, you're gonna make a recovery, you'll be in here for only a week. Bad news is Jessica's here" Emily smiled at her joke.
"He's gonna be just fine," Emily told Jessica, leaving the room to her and Marvin.
"How are you feeling?" Jessica asked, "Like shit" Marvin replied promptly.
"Well that's good then, cause you is if I have to stress myself out going to court for your ass, the least you can do is feel like shit" Jessica scolded Marvin, but the smile on her face told a different story.
That was how their relationship was, Jessica was the one person Marvin could say cared about him, she had been with him since he was ten years old.
"I'm sorry" Marvin apologized, his left eye looking directly into Jessica's. He saw the wrinkles on her forehead and the sympathy in her eyes.
Jessica sighed as she too looked at Marvin, his dark eyes didn't look dead like usual, instead they looked sad like they had lost something. "It's fine, no big issue" Jessica smiled and tried to comfort Marvin, she knew that he was just a child, a child who had no one except for her.
"So, how much longer do I need to stay here?" Marvin changed the topic, Jessica's smile wore off as she told Marvin, "Another month, way less than some of those other guys"
"Thank you, I really appreciate it" Marvin was very much appreciative of Jessica, he couldn't imagine just how much effort she had put in to reduce his extra time to just a month. Especially when considering his record of violence.
"And, I've begun the process of getting you with a new foster family. I'll make sure it's far better than Greg and Tara" Marvin chuckled at Jessica's words.
Jessica spent the rest of the time telling Marvin about the latest news in the outside world.

Jessica was back in her office, and in front of her were a man and a woman, they were both sitting down, patiently waiting for Jessica to offer their attention to them.
"Okay Mr and Mrs Keppler, I know we've been speaking on the phone, but I would like you guys to understand just what it is you're getting into," Jessica says
The man and woman both look at each other and the woman says, "We understand exactly what we're about to do, and we want to be able to give Marvin a place he'll be able to call home"
Jessica looked at both of them, she could see the sincerity and determination in their eyes, "Well then, let's start filling out these forms." She said as she started passing out forms.
