Chapter 24: The Divine Enigma’s Perspective

Chapter 24: The Divine Enigma’s Perspective

As an existence that surpasses the mere mortals of Sphera, one would think that I wouldn't NEED to lie to those around me. However, how could I have revealed the truth to that retired soldier who only aspired to lead a peaceful life even after his death?

When I had first awakened, the first thing I noticed was this world around me and this ‘dimension’ of Sphera that only I owned, It didn't take long for me to comprehend everything that transpired in the time gap before my creation since all the evidence was laid out bare in the memories I inherited.

A human from a foreign world had been 'summoned' by the remnants of two Gods. His flesh and soul ripped into two halves straight upon arrival.

Even if he was to have been the strongest human that ever lived on the planet called Earth, he would have died the same way after arriving in this mystical world in such an abnormal way. The weakened flesh of his mortal body would have still turned to ash!

However, who would have thought that that the death of one insignificant Mortal of Earth would bring such a catastrophic end to both the Fiends and Druids alike? It looks like punishment had been dealt to those who had been taking advantage of their ‘Summoned Champions’ for thousands of years!

Perhaps the fact that they caused a calamity by picking the same person among billions of humans on an alternate world was the will of karma...

What was so special about Simon that made him be chosen out of the many humans on Earth? Was the fact that he was chosen truly just monstrous luck?

Not that it’s important anyway...

Simon’s two separate souls, his spiritually that had been separated due to circumstances using his physique as a medium, was somehow mutated after merging back into their complete form

It was due to such a strange turn of events that allowed him to unwittingly become the owner of the two most dangerous Divine Swords of Sphera.

"Enigma, you're daydreaming again. Is Harmony really the eldest among the four of us?" A very rough but powerful voice resounded just beside me.

I didn't have facial features nor any of the usual senses that a human would be naturally born with. All I had was this dimension I inherited from the two fallen Gods as my transcendent power.

Unlike normal Gods, my body is unstable. That’s I strived to make sure I wouldn’t use too much of my power to do anything unnecessary. That’s except when has something to do with one of my ‘family members’, of course... There is no way I’ll allow them to suffer!

“Are you even listening?” The silhouette formed of grey smoke in front of me asked with rising anger in his tone. This man could actually be considered my 'son' so to speak. or maybe I should call him my dearest little 'brother'? I can’t decide which...!

Anyway, both these titles would be acceptable due to the extraordinary and somewhat strange circumstances surrounding us powerful anomalies!

The one this silhouette formed of ash called Harmony now actually went by the name of ‘Simon’. A ‘Human’ of Sphera who lived as a butler in the Swordwick Duke’s Noble Household.

Back then, I hid the existence of this silhouette of ash I named Chaos since knowing about him would only cause Harmony to be extremely confused...

In Harmony's mind, he was a man from Earth who had just been summoned. Therefore, informing him of Chaos would only cause him to be needlessly about his own existence.

More importantly: Even if I HAD informed Simon about how his original body had ‘survived’ and developed its own individual consciousness, would he have believed me anyway...?

A human heart is fickle. This insane truth might have even caused him to go into denial, losing his sanity in the process. The fragile mindset he had upon awakening wouldn't have been able to handle knowing about Chaos’s existence... That’s why I have no regrets about shamelessly lying to him.

Oh yeah, I guess it’s time to answer Chaos before he loses his temper.

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

"He really is the the 'first born' among us." I finally answered while looking at the vague outline of Chaos' face that looked exactly like Harmony when he first awoke in my own dimension...

"Don't lie! How could such a weakling be our ‘eldest’? How could the first born among us just abandon his duties at a critical time like this?" Chaos wasn’t polite as he firmly glared at me.

"Please don't blame him. I was the one who hid everything from him." I shook my head helplessly. It’s not like the current Simon could help us with his meagre amount of magical power.

"Stop defending that trash! With his intelligence, he should have been able to see through your deception." A sharp light fleshed through his 'eyes' as he gestured his hand. A mirror appeared by our side as it showed Simon fighting against his household's Young Miss.

"He is essentially your grandfather you know? Shouldn't you show more respect?" I asked with an amused smile. If he was my ‘father’ and Chaos was my ‘son’, then calling him the grandfather of this silhouette of ash wouldn’t really be that inaccurate~!

"Your the only one that thinks of him like that! You weirdo!" Chaos faltered.

It didn’t seem like he wanted to continue the conversation further as he looked at Simon in the Overseeing Mirror. Then his 'eyes' shifted to a particular girl in black maid clothing.

"It seems that Void is having a good time." Chaos muttered in complaint.

“Isn’t that natural considering her origins? It’s not like you ever cared enough to watch over her.” I shrugged as I hid my disappointment towards the young girl who was the last anomaly to be created after the catastrophe Simon’s existence made...

Among the four of us, she could be said to be the anomaly who inherited the least amount among us. The only thing she had going for her was the fact that she had an S Rank Magical Talent that was proof of her divine heritage...

I have to say that my opinion of Void has changed over the years after I sent her to protect Harmony. The fact that she was able to have high compatibility with the Aura Sharpening technique created by that ancient expert of the past wasn’t something I expected...

I will undoubtedly apologise to her for what I did once I get the opportunity.

“Aura Sharpening...” Chaos muttered as he looked at the sword Void usually had sheathed on her waist. Her sword wasn’t really a weapon that stood out considering it’s lack of ornaments...

“Are you regretting the fact that you’re unable to learn it as well?” I asked curiously while gazing at how Chaos had suddenly fell into a dazed state...

“There are no regrets to be had. She will never be able to surpass me!” He broke out of his trance before turning to speak with great confidence.

Although I didn’t have ‘eyes’, my gaze was enough for him to understand that I didn’t want to hear any rubbish he was making up to hide his thoughts.

“What’s wrong?” I asked more clearly since I didn’t want there to be any secrets between the two of us. The two of us are on the same boat after all!

“I merely felt envious... There is nothing to eat nor anything to do other than spy on them in this empty dimension of yours...” His answer really made me unable to reply.

"You shouldn't be so jealous of your ‘daughter’~” I couldn't help but tease in order to hide my embarrassment! It’s not like I could do anything about it...!

"Shut the hell up! She doesn't even count as one of us. Harmony was able to stabilise his existence before us due to the fact that he was just returning to his original form. As for that girl, she merely inherited the leftover remnants of the Divine Swords. She is only mere trash that is unable to evolve!” The silhouette of ash responded harshly.

The reason we called her Void was due to the fact that she was completely unable to access the powers of the Time Attribute, nor even have the affinity to the Space Attribute. Even Chaos, who can’t to use magic anymore, is able to access the power of any attributes he likes through his mutated flesh...

"Fool! You yourself don't have the ability to evolve, nor do I. The only two who have the ability to surpass those ‘True Gods’ are Void and Harmony.

Although Void is unable to condense a Skill Root, she still has the talent required to go far in in the way of the sword just like that Mortal God before her. As for Harmony, he may have a weak starting point, but he will be able to exceed the both of us in potential once he steps into the third level of Aura Manifestation." I looked at Chaos and retorted threateningly. He can say what he wanted about Void since even I was disappointed in the fact that she had no attribute despite her origins...

However, I can't ignore the fact that Chaos' words had indirectly cursed Harmony's weakness. We may have been born stronger than them, but our potential is now limited by our ‘completeness’, unlike our eldest brother who is destined to surpass us!

Chaos shrunk his neck back in fear after seeing my anger for the first time.

I ignored him and instead looked at the Overseeing Mirror as well since there was nothing for us to do. We both had a habit of peeking on Simon in the lands of Sphere, seeing how his daily life progressed and how far he had improved... This was especially true for Chaos who seemed to hold some kind of grudge against his ‘grandfather’...

Well... competition among closely knit family members isn’t anything new~

"Huh...?" I couldn't help but drop nonexistent my jaw after seeing Harmony confess his feelings to Void in such a ridiculous way... It even made me suspect if the Overseeing Mirror I inherited from the previous God of Light had been broken somehow...

When I reincarnated the both of them to the same household, I predicted that they would one day become familiar with each other, but who would have thought that Harmony was so strange?

He actually confessed to Void? What the hell is the world coming to...!

"Hahahaha! So funny~! He actually confessed his feelings to her in such a roguish way~ As expected of my body’s soul! But isn't this called incest...?" His eyes beam as he looked at me in delight. This was until he thought of their origins and asked ‘inquiringly’.

"Void’s sentience originates from the leftover metal fragments left behind by the two Divine Swords. On the other hand, Harmony's soul originates from another world. It can be argued that she is actually a ‘step-sister’!” I didn't want to lose in a war of words so I seriously came up with an excuse.

"Whatever... I can only say that ‘my soul’ has some really heavy taste, or is this supposed to be ‘fate’? Why do I feel that there is someone scheming in the shadows?” Chaos sighed lazily.

"The Outsider Gods shouldn't be able to track him... I even specifically drained Harmony’s soul of Mana in order to weaken his magical energy signature... There should be no way any of those Outsider Gods can locate him!

I’m sure they would’ve already sent their armies towards that Drakeyol Kingdom if they did...!” My heart filled with dread as I retorted after hearing Chaos’ sincere yet casual remark.

Although Chaos' words seemed like a joke, my mind couldn't help but tremble upon remembering the accuracy of the uncanny ‘instinct’ both Chaos and Harmony possessed.

Chaos' 'feeling' weighed a lot more than any factual information I could gather!

"Although I can't personally go there to intervene, please help me make some preparations just in case since it’s better be safe than sorry... Are you willing to help me refine Harmony’s true Magical Talent using your twelve Skill Roots?” I bowed and requested Chaos with great sincerity. My eyes momentarily looking at the weapons floating above us in pure admiration!

“You can do whatever want.” A tinge of darkness spread in his 'eyes' as Chaos replied. I didn't know what he was thinking when he looked at Void through the Overseeing Mirror.
