I've made many gadgets to prepare for the tournament beforehand and stuffed them under my bed. Today is the day for me to make my appearance to the kingdom, so I won't hold back, those talented guys will definitely have no choice but to bow their heads at my awesomeness after I use these.
In front of me was many weapons I made using magic: A plethora of different types of grenades made using a mix of water and earth magic, a prototype revolver made using a mix of fire and earth magic, a prototype pistol I made using wind and earth magic, a prototype mini-flamethrower I made using wind and water magic, and a prototype nitrogen cannon I made using a mix of fire and water magic.
All these gadgets are things I've made using both my previous life's wisdom and this life's Mana. Having Mana is like a dream come true for a reincarnated individual like myself. I was able to use the science of my own world to make more specific changes in my magic. Using my magic to create things that would be hard for normal people of this world to imagine.
At first, it wasn't as I could just create grenades even if I knew their complete molecular structure, because creating such volatile items are extremely dangerous. I wasn't a blacksmith in my previous life, but a soldier, just a mere soldier that used these weapons in the field. I wasn't able to completely copy and create a normal grenade using Mana. However, it wasn't as if I couldn't change the recipes in order to make my own brand of weapons.
If my father was to see these creations I've made, he would probably stop my training and force me to become an Magic Blacksmith. That would be easier that fighting, and I'll be able to get the protection of strong figures by trading, but I wouldn't choose that path even if it's easier due to my pride.
I don't want to rely on others because relying on strangers who are stronger than you within the lands of Sphera is stupid. Anyone with ill intent would try to kidnap me and force me to create weapons for them if I reveal my Magic Blacksmith talent to others.
Although I know I can handle kids my own age, I don't even dream of getting the upper hand of warriors like my father, people who have experienced battlefields. These exceptional people like Mark and Anna would be able to kill me easily in a battle of life and death. I can feel it. Even if they're always going easy, trying to hide their strength, a former soldier like myself would definitely be able to feel the intensity of their aura. It's like how you can recognise a bulldozer just by its sound, even if I don't see them when they're serious, I can tell they're strong.
I look at the weapons before me in a daze but immediately regain my composure and store the weapons using the Original Magic unique to myself. It's called: 'Devouring Shadow'. A magic I made after finding the strangeness in my Mana after countless experiments. At that time, I was pondering on the things Enigma had told me before I reincarnated, how my Mana was nourished by the Dark Gods Divine Sword and Light Gods Divine Sword even after my death.

I tried to theorise the reason for my lack of Mana. Then tried to use Mana in a way that was more unconventional than ever before. I touched my shadow and sent my Mana towards it, trying to control it as an ethereal existence just like the flames of my fire attribute. I imagined the darkest of chaotic shadows in my mind and actually succeeded in making it distort.
This discovery led me to believe that the same could be done with light. I experimented on the sunlight above me and found that I could also distort the rays of light falling on by body.
I tried to mix these two new elements at my disposal with the other elements I already knew of to create my own personal Spells and Arts that I kept a secret until today. I may be paranoid or something, but I can feel that showing my strength early on would attract unwanted attention from certain maids and butlers serving under the Duke.
The current amount of Spells and Arts I have created through experiments in my room are a lot altogether. This is because I could create a new Spell or Art by just adding my two new attributes to the equation.
For example: I added these two attributes to the Reinforcement Art, finding that my Light Attribute could increase my speed and vitality in exchange for strength and dexterity. Whist in contrast I found that my Dark Attribute could increase my strength and dexterity in exchange for my speed and vitality. They clearly had their own major strengths and weaknesses.
"Devouring Shadow!" I chant while pointing towards my shadow. A dark black hole appeared within it, which I used by shoving my weapons inside of it, after I was done I released the spell.
"Simon, we're leaving, get out so we can get there in time." My father yells towards the door before opening my door. I smile at him and agree before following both my parents towards the entrance of the Main Hall. I feel a series of emotions running through me after seeing the large entrance.
"We're entering." My mother informs me and wakes me up from my stupor.
I know my head and follow along as she and father opens the door. What appears in front of me is a giant and luxurious hall fit for the Swordwick Household. Above the many servants that lined up in rows on each side of a big red carpet was man who sat in a golden chair. He looked both built and talk, his expression was as domineering as a sword as he gazed in my direction.
My back stiffened by reflex, but I was still able to return his gaze with a courteous bow. He seemed to acknowledge my manners and nodded in my direction. My parents who were both heads of the maids and butlers didn't have the status to sit. So we stood in a place near Duke Swordwick to show our importance among the servants in the Main Hall.
The reaction we got from some of the servants was respectful whilst others only coldly watched my parents from a distance. I couldn't help but note each Maid and Butler that gave us a cold stare down in my head along with their children. If I ever get the chance, I'll eliminate them, there's no need for people who are against my family to exist on the same world as me.
"You all already know why I've gathered you all. You Sword Maids and Sword Butlers that have children at this occasion. Let me all introduce you to the person who you will serve after me in the future. My daughter, Sapphire Swordwick." Duke Swordwick informs as he a young girl who was behind the Duchess finally showed herself. She walked in front of the butlers and maids with confidence. A deep rooted arrogance and disdain for the world could be seen in her eyes.
"Nice to meet you all. It is a pleasure to meet the future candidates for my Exclusive Butler." She says politely while gazing at us with contempt.
