AZI Volume 6 Chapter 4

Walking for a few minutes—

“…”

Turning his head to the side, Long Hua sees Ye Chen with Li Xue and Qing Yue a few meters away, to which, the former asks—

“The hell kind of situation is this?”

Raising his head, Ye Chen remarks—

“…Alive?”

“…?”

Seeing the unusually dark expression on Ye Chen’s face, Long Hua raises an eye, while thinking—

(It’s one thing if we hadn’t met up, but now that we have… Simply leaving as is—the awkwardness of it aside, it is bound to raise some questions later.)

Taking out the head of Lord Tian She Zi’s statue, Long Hua tosses it to Ye Chen.

Catching the head, Ye Chen asks—

“What is this?”

“Your souvenir?”

“Couldn’t you have picked something… Different? Who would want a head?”

Shrugging a shoulder, Long Hua replies—

“It was the only thing in that stupid room. Turns out it was a…- I guess, a shrine? And the extracts placed outside were offerings to the deity.”

“…So then, this is the head of that deity?”

Looking down at the head in his hands, Ye Chen widens his eyes with the urge to toss the head back at Long Hua.

“Of course. What else could it be?”

As soon as he has his confirmation, Ye Chen tosses the head back at Long Hua—who instead of catching it, decides to shatter it with a single kick.

Lowering his leg, Long Hua remarks—

“There. A deity killed effortlessly.”

Blinking his eyes, Ye Chen with uncertainty asks—

“Is this supposed to be your way of cheering me up, surnamed Long?”

“As if. I merely found that stupid look on your face annoying. In fact…”

Pointing his thumb behind him, Long Hua continues to say—

“Everyone behind me right now may as well be a loser. All of you are far too caught up in the depressing mood that was brought onto you by that shit-stained level six Immortal.”

Towards Long Hua’s remark, Qing Yue can’t help but think—

(Says another Immortal…)

A few Moon Guards had also been caught up in the pale white weapon spirit’s blast.

That being said, death was something that they had taken into consideration; however, what they didn’t take into consideration was the strength of a level six Immortal.

Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author.

(Surnamed Long’s strength during the hotel incident may as well be a joke compared to that…)

Thinking of this, Qing Yue can’t help but look to Long Hua with uncertainty, while continuing to think—

(Is he… Capable of the same thing?)

Heaving a sigh, Ye Chen says—

“Can’t be helped. That thing managed to kill that Sinner so easily…”

“Who cares? That Immortal probably didn’t even kill anyone today. All the death was caused by a fully Apotheosized Sinner.”

Despite that being true, Ye Chen replies—

“Which is exactly what makes this situation even more depressing… If becoming a monster isn’t enough to defeat-”

“Surnamed Ye, shut your damn trap.”

With a tone that couldn’t be colder, Long Hua cuts Ye Chen off.

Heaving a sigh, Long Hua says—

“Disregard the shit-stained Immortal’s strength or whatever for now. Anyone that died today simply didn’t make the cut in the luck department. If you lived, you should be celebrating with a drink or something.”

“…Surnamed Long, if it was a friend of yours who died today, how would you react?”

Folding his arms, Long Hua answers—

“Raise a cup, and toast to them—for an early rebirth, and a better next life.”

“…”

Despite how crude these words may be, Ye Chen finds it difficult to not chuckle a bit, and asks—

“Didn’t you say, you won’t be a hero?”

“I’m not acting a hero by cheering your sorry ass up. If I was a hero, I’d be going back there, and giving everyone a sermon. If anything, I actually just did the opposite.”

Blinking his eyes, Ye Chen asks—

“…What did you do?”

“I told them—as the proprietor of the Lan Si Restaurant, that I welcome their patronage, if they wish to bid on the 22 bottles of Spirit Extracts.”

Simultaneously, Li Xue and Qing Yue’s expression turns stiff.

“Surnamed Long, you still have the heart to be thinking about money at a time like this?”

Towards Li Xue’s question, Long Hua bats her an eye, and answers—

“I don’t see anything wrong with it. With how greedy the human heart is, anyone would have done the same. The idea of a saint is utterly stupid, who gives these so-called saints the rights to decide on who to save and who to abandon?”

Taking out another spirit herb cigar, Long Hua puffs a smoke before continuing to add—

“At least my methods of choosing who to grant grace to are much more clear-cut. If they have the money, anyone can buy an extract off me, and maybe raise their odds of survival for next time?”

Contemplating for a brief instance, Long Hua turns to Li Xue, and remarks—

“Surnamed Li, you give me money, and I give you a weapon that can kill surnamed Ye, how about it?”

“…”

Towards this proposal, Li Xue is a bit speechless. But momentarily, she gets off the ground, and walks over to Long Hua to ask—

“How much? And do you take credit card?”

“Hey! I’m in no mood for this bullshit!”

Towards Ye Chen’s remark, Li Xue turns to him, and says—

“Then start explaining! What does that Immortal have to do with you acting like a lunatic?!”

“I…-”

Unable to answer, Ye Chen turns back to Long Hua who is still smoking, and asks—

“Surnamed Long, what are you doing exactly? Aren’t you the sort to not care about other people’s business?”

Originally, Long Hua only wanted to make the situation of him leaving on his own a bit less awkward, but now that it’s come to this point, he figured that he might as well be a bit more honest by answering—

“Surnamed Ye, I’m a person who gets bored easily, so I’m always on the lookout for amusement. Picking on your scabs just so happens to be entertaining. Making the matter better is, it’s free—at no cost to me.”

Knowing that it is impossible for his cultivation base to increase any further without the power of the five elements, Long Hua can only force himself to take things at a leisurely pace.

That being the case, he truly is bored out of his mind. Without something to occupy his time with, it’s all too easy for him to begin feeling lethargic.

A common issue among the long-lived, it is extremely difficult for them to find amusement—due to how much they’ve seen over the passage of time; hence, events of interest are something that they would jump at quite readily.

Bai Wen and Zhen Qing Huai’s behavior back at the auction are a prime example of this.

“…I didn’t think you were a person like this………”

Towards Ye Chen’s remark, Long Hua replies—

“Surnamed Ye, I think… There’s been a minor misunderstanding between us. I was always a person like this. If giving someone a weapon means they can do something entertaining in front of me, I’ll give it to them, and laugh as I watch them commit a massacre with it.”

“…”

Towards the extreme words that Long Hua had just said, Ye Chen turns speechless.

Seeing Ye Chen not willing to say anything more, Long Hua heaves a sigh, and leaves, while thinking—

(Right, this way I can avoid being questioned. Works for me.)

“…”

Seeing Long Hua headed off, Ye Chen heaves a sigh.

Just as Long Hua had predicted, asking him where he is going at this point—it’s something that Ye Chen doesn’t have the face to do.
