After hearing what Sol and Anais had to say, The High Priest called a meeting with the other chosen ones. It was something that never happened before and the chosen ones did not take it seriously. Only a couple of them showed up, and surprisingly the 3 higher ones came. The High Priest proposed strengthening the barrier around and inside the church.
But his request fell on deaf ears since the higher ones were the only ones who could help in this matter. The Seer and The Silver Ash were also present, but could not support The High Priest because of the consequences from the higher ones.
The meeting finished without any accomplishments toward the potential threat they were facing.
*Step*
*Step*
(Sol) - The higher ones are intimidating.
(The High Priest) - It was the first time they attended a meeting.
(Anais) - Maybe because they know about the blood moon.
(The High Priest) - It is unlikely, I was the one assigned to do all the research, they know as much as I know about this topic.
(Sol) - What if one of them left the cursed tome in the library on purpose for us to find it?
(The High Priest) - But who?
(Anais) - What about the one that attacked you?
(The High Priest) - The Berserk would never do that, he does play the role of an enforcer in the Euda, but I can not imagine him falling for cursed tomes tricks.
(Sol) - Do you have anyone else in mind?
(The High Priest) - I can only think of one, but it is just a suspicion.
(Anais) - Who?
(The High Priest) - The Emotionless.
(Sol) - Which one of them was it?
(The High Priest) - The one that stands in the middle.
(Sol) - His name does not sound as imposing as The Berserk.
(The High Priest) - The Emotionless is rumored to be the strongest of all chosen ones. But I hope he didn't side with the cursed tomes.
(Anais) - Didn't Sol say that the cursed tomes promise you more power?
(Sol) - Yes, and in the end they just take control of you.
(The High Priest) - Why would he want more power?
(Sol) - It comes naturally, I also fell for it at first.
(Anais) - Is there any way we can watch over them?
(The High Priest) - You have seen the consequences, I am afraid we can not.
(Sol) - What if one of us becomes their apprentice?
(The High Priest) - That would be our best chance, but usually, apprentices do not switch their masters.
Stolen story; please report.
*Scratch*
(The High Priest) - Unless. . .
(Sol) - Unless what?
(The High Priest) - Unless the apprentice and the master have an inappropriate affair.
*Chuckles*
(Sol) - This sounds funny, but it also makes sense.
*Cough*
(Sol) - Sorry Anais.
(Anais) - Do we need to have an affair?
(The High Priest) - In this case, no, but we need to be smart about it, to look real.
(Sol) - For me, it will be more complicated.
(The High Priest) - I will ask The Seer and The Silver Ash to help us.
(Anais) - How can they help us?
(The High Priest) - They will act as witnesses in one of the meetings, and bring up that I was having an affair with each one of you.
(Sol) - But isn't Anais The Seer's apprentice?
(The High Priest) - We can work around that when the time comes.
(Anais) - What if it doesn't work?
(The High Priest) - It has to.
(Sol) - And do we get to choose where to go?
(The High Priest) - The chosen one should also agree, but in this specific case, it might work for the apprentice to pick one of them.
(Sol) - That is very convenient.
(Anais) - But what do we do about the other higher one? What was his name?
(The High Priest) - The Guardian, is in charge of the Euda's church's protection. He is also the one in charge of the barrier in the black magic section.
(Sol) - I will go to him if our plan works.
(Anais) - And I will go to The Emotionless.
(The High Priest) - Then The Seer and The Silver Ash along with me will try and watch The Berserk.
They discussed any additional details that could cause the plan to fail, and when everything was planned, they put it in motion. The next day The High Priest secretly met with The Silver Ash and with The Seer and told them about the plan. They both agreed, and The High Priest continued his normal routine. After a couple of days, Sol and Anais were called into the meeting by The Seer and the Silver Ash.
(The Mist) - What is the meaning of this meeting?
(The Seer) - This is an important matter, that we should attend to as soon as possible.
(The Truth) - Let's hear it.
(The Silver Ash) - Together with The Seer we have witnessed something blasphemous inside of the church.
(The Mirage) - And that is?
(The Seer) - The High Priest abusing and having an affair with his apprentices.
*Shocked*
*Murmuring*
(The Mist) - This has been unheard of since centuries ago.
(The Seer) - We have both witnessed this happening, and we asked those two apprentices to join us and tell us the story.
The High Priest was late to the meeting on purpose along with Sol. While they were slowly approaching the meeting, Anais finished telling her part of the story.
*Door opens*
(The Mist) - But isn't this one your apprentice The Seer?
(The Seer) - It was until the agreement to study and research black magic under The High Priest's guidance.
Anais bit her tongue and started crying, but it was all part of the plan, to make it more believable.
(The Mirage) - There he is.
(The High Priest) - What happened?
(The Silver Ash) - He is acting clueless.
(The Truth) - Where were you just now, with your apprentice?
(The Mist) - You are late!
(The High Priest) - There was something that we took care of.
(The Seer) - I would rather hear it from Sol.
Sol stepped into the middle of the room and tried to be convincing with his story about The High Priest abusing and affair.
(The Clairvoyance) - What should we do on this matter?
(The Silver Ash) - As the old rules say, the apprentices are to be released by their former master and they are to pick a new master.
(The Seer) - Since we are not all present today, you might choose anyone.
Sol said with a trembling voice that he would like to be assigned to The Guardian and Anais said while crying that she wanted to be guided by The Emotionless. The whole room fell silent to their request.
(The Truth) - Is this even possible?
(The Mirage) - What if they do not agree to this, they are not even present.
(The Seer) - The old rules say that the chosen ones can not refuse the choice of an abused apprentice.
(The Clairvoyance) - In this case, there is nothing we can do.
(The Silver Ash) - We all swore to follow the old rules.
Before the meeting was over and Sol and Anais were assigned to their new masters, the 3 higher ones appeared in the room.
