Chapter 36

The pair sat on a small roofed balcony overlooking the front courtyard of the palace. Their table was set with four place settings and a mound of waffles, bacon, and other breakfast essentials. Razor sat with his chin propped on his hand as he watched Tsukiko slowly cut into her waffles and pick them up with a fork that skewered both a waffle piece and a small piece of sausage. His other hand played with the envelope he was given from Ebonsun.

Stopping with the food just to her mouth she raised an eyebrow at him, “Am Ah that interesting to watch suga’?”

“Very,” Razor said, shaking his head, “But mostly just my mind is wandering and staring at the beautiful sight before me eases that. I apologize for not being all here.”

“Something wrong hon?” She asked, putting her fork down onto her plate.

He waves his hand and shakes his head, “It’s nothing really. Can’t really describe it.”

“I’m always here for you,” Tsukiko puts her hand on top of his across the table, “Ya can tell me anything.”

“I know I can my love. This is a political matter, so I hope I don’t have to involve you or Herro.”

“Political matter? I thought it was because of your mothers passing”

“Well yes, my dear, that is most definitely on my mind, but Councilman Dalewind spoke to me at the party and I am also dealing with that.” Razor then takes her hand delicately and kisses the top of her hand. “It's nothing to worry about though”

Tsukiko savored the sentiment momentarily but replied with, “Razor….if we are to be a couple I can not sit back when you have concerns. Your problems are my problems. I know it will take time and trust but when you are ready open up to me. I can’t fully speak for my brother but given his recent ties to your family he would gladly help as well.”

“That is a good thing to hear, my Moon Princess. That is part of the problem though, the connection we have and Nobles wanting to noble.” He smiled as he grabbed her hand across the table.

A males voice chimed in behind Tsukiko ruining Razor’s speech and Her tender moment, “It’s way too early for this. Can I sleep for another two hours.”

“No Darling,” Summer said with a small grin, “Besides, can you even be drowsy after that shower?”

“Ehh ehh ehh” Herro made a quick cutting motion across his neck, “We just washed each other and made sure that we were each clean.”

Razor raised an eyebrow and propped his head on his fist, “If this involved a shower, my dear sister, and the pair of you in there at the same time, I highly doubt that was ‘just’ what you did.”

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.

“No Brother dear,” Summer said, her eyes narrowing with obvious delight, “That is what we did. My darling just didn’t bother mentioning the METHOD we used to make sure the other was clean.

She continued, holding his hand as he turned a slight pink, “Did I mention he has this most adorable scar under that fringe of bangs. I love it. Never thought I’d get someone with an actual facial scar”

“What am I, an anime protagonist?

Tsukiko let out a quick laugh, covering her mouth with her hand. “Ho ho, Protagonist? My sweet brother you couldn't be a main character in a children's cartoon. What is your tragic back story? Being mediocre at literally everything?”

“My tragic backstory Is all the mental anguish I had to deal with from living with a Yandere! And before you chime in” herro looks to Razor. “I'm definitely not mediocre on pleasing your sister over and over”

Summer opens her mouth in a grin but Razor shifted to sit straight up and a wide grin splits his face, “First I will say congratulations on not being mediocre in bed. Always a great skill to cultivate, especially since your Mate is basically a raging nymphomaniac.”

“HEY,” Summer glares, “I am not THAT bad…at least not before i got with him”

“Mate?” Herro asked more to himself than anyone listening.

“Second, your sister is definitely not a Yandere. Tsundere Maybe, not quite the traditional definition but …”

“HoHoHoHo,” A laugh comes from across the table, causing all three to look over and see Tsukiko grinning like mad, her mouth hidden behind her hand, “My darlings. I never said I was the best or easy to deal with but I am certainly better than you in ALL areas”

Razor and Herro look at her, and then at each other, both saying in Sync, “Himedere.”

OH…MY…GOD…it makes so much sense now!” Herro proclaimed. “It's like the universe explained to me one of its minor secrets.”

Razor slid back against his chair with his head in his hand, “Well She isn’t completely one, so that’s something.

“Anyway,” Razor said sliding the sealed letter over towards the side of the table where Summer stood, “Our family already sent their invite.”

“Already?” She waved Herro over to the seat across from her and slid into the one by the letter before picking it up. Her eyes flickered with red spots for a moment before going back to full green, “Are they trying to time it with Mamma’s birthday? Marianna’s birthday isn’t even for another two months, and the latter part of that month at that.”

“My thought too, but I haven’t had the heart to open it up yet. Honestly, it’s probably not even them. I’m sure it’s just Queen Alexandra dropping it off personally.”

“You think Aunt Alex was here?” Summer raised an eyebrow, “Incognito, since we haven’t seen any royal guards from Ebonsun.”

Razor smiled, “It was a festival dedicated to the birthday of her only younger sister.”

“At least the cousins aren’t around, they never deign to see us.” Summer said with a roll of her eyes as she held up the letter to the guard standing off in the shadows, “Make a copy of this and take it to our sisters.”

“Ma’am,” The nodded as he servant grabbed the letter and disappeared into the building, another from nowhere seeming to replace him.

“Hearing the pair of you talk it drives home, I really don’t belong here,” Herro said, a piece of sausage at his mouth.

Tsukiko nodded a bit, her attitude back from the high and mighty she seemed to have when tormenting her brother, “It is a tad like watching a drama about some high nobility and their troubles.”

“I wouldn’t say it’s drama worthy,” Razor snarked as he looked at the pair, “But welcome to High Nobility, very High. Like Royalty high, the both of you.”

“Yes, exactly what I wanted to hear,” Herro muttered under his breath.

“Darling,” Summer said, taking his free hand, “Stop bitching and enjoy it. You’re fine as the princess consort and I’ll fight anyone who dares say otherwise.”
