Shaking his hands still smoking arms, Razor glanced at Warlock and then over at Herro, “You aren’t done yet?”
“Hey,” Herro grumbled, “I was fighting the main villain, not henchmen.”
The charred body that stood in the circle glanced between them before speaking, “Are you both done? If you are not going to take me up on my offer I am afraid we are done here.”
Razor cocked an eyebrow, “Did that odd skeleton just talk?”
“I am not a skeleton Princeling,” Warlock said, “I am a revenant. As you can see, despite being burned and decayed, this body still possesses flesh and muscle.”
“Blah blah,” Razor made a talking motion with his hand, “Just go back to Eternia Skeletor.”
The small bit of flesh on face of the body Warlock piloted pulled up into a sneer, “Bluster while you can Amazon. Realize this assault is but a small part of a grander plan.”
The trapped mage made a small motion with his hand and the barrier around him shattered, the pieces falling like glass shards before melting into nothingness where they lay on the ground. The effect caused the strobing light around the room to cease and leave them all in the shadows again.
With a gesture, Razor charged forward with his sword in his hand. Reaching the reanimated corpse, he slashes his sword upward. Before the sword reached the body it seemed to strike a solid metal object, sparks flying as it deflected. Warlock put his hand out and Razor went flying backwards to land with a solid thump against the floor.
“That hurt,” Razor moans as he starts to sit up to see a trio of shards of ice flying through the air. Instinctively throwing his hands over his head, he misses as they hit a wall before him. Glancing up he sees the ice shattered on the ground. With a nod he looks at Herro, who has his gunblade pointed at Warlock with a beam of energy keeping the mage busy, and his want pointed towards Razor.
Breathing heavily Herro drops the hand with his wand to his side, “Lets try not to do that again. I can’t manage two sets of spells like Tsukiko can and he is trying to draw energy for something bigger.”
“Got it,” Razor says, standing and twirling his sword in his hand, “Can you keep him from blasting me again?”
“I am still here children.” Warlock said, the purple eyes glowing ominously.
“We know,” Razor said with a final nod at Herro. He broke in a run towards Warlock. The mage raised a hand and lightning shot out at him. The spell hit an invisible barrier in front of Razor as Herro turned his blade towards him. A vine wall burst from the ground to block the next set of incoming projectiles. Ducking around his wall, Razor came at Warlock with a high slash.
Warlocks purple eyes flared as he send a wall of energy at Razor. Razor growled and pushed forward, moving like he was submerged in molasses. His sword came down and Warlock dodged, but the edge of the blade caught his shoulder. The sword bit in and through easier than it should have, and removed the limb.
With nary a glance at his arm, Warlock used his remaining hand and with a shove Razor was sent flying across the room. He turned his skid into a roll and came up in a crouch, calling his blade back into his hand.
Herro pointed his blade and fired two more rounds at Warlock, both summarily deflected by a simple gesture.
“Boys, boys,” Warlock said with a smug expression on his face, “I want a challenge. I am able to take both of you with one arm …”
He glances down at the ground before continuing, “Well, you know.”
“Priceless,” Razor says, standing up and keeping his sword pointed at the ground.
“Though I must say, for an Amazon you fight well Princeling.”
Shrugging Razor laughed, “I must say you are quite jovial for an evil mastermind who killed a good portion of my security force.”
“They got better.” Warlock said, the rictus grin growing wider, “Well for awhile.”
“Yes, Zombies are so much more efficient.” Razor drolls sarcastically.
Shrugging his one shoulder, “And why not? They listen to any command their master gives them. They need no sustenance. They are more resilient than a living being.”
“True,” Razor countered, “But that independence can be a blessing of a living being, able to improvise and change strategy where needed.”
“And that Princeling, is why I want you to join me and we can cleanse this world of the unclean.”
Looking back and forth between them, Herro shakes his head, “What are you two doing?”
Herro backs up as both glance over at him, Razor smiles a wide and brilliant smile, “What’s it look like we’re doing? Feeling each other out.”
“So,” Herro asks, “You are just having a conversation with our enemy?”
“It is repartee son of Maxwell, and I am actually have a better time with the Amazon than you. That is disturbing to say the least.” Warlock intoned, his violet eyes glaring at Herro.
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
‘You know what? I don’t care,” Herro said as he raised his blade and shot a ball of fire at Warlock.
The other mage waved his hand and the fireball careened into the wall. Before he could spin around he was sent flying as Razor put his knee into Warlock’s head.
Landing Razor shrugged, “Sorry. If not for the fact you are morally challenged, you might be a good guy.”
“Morally challenged? Try Evil!” Herro shouted, throwing balls of unfocused energy towards Warlock. A shield of energy burst forth around Warlock as he seemed to get pulled to his feet like a marionette.
The balls hit the barrier which started to flicker and fade, letting the last few balls slam into the mage. A spear of violet energy shot from the smoke towards Herro. With a grunt he put his gunblade up and the spear was split in two and flew past him.
Dashing Forward, Razor disappears with a “Flash Step” escaping his mouth. Reappearing behind the dark mage. Pushing his hand towards Warlock, he throws a cone of fire at hte Mage, “Dragon’s breath.”
Warlock gave a laugh as he flung his arm forward and a wall of wind hit both men, sending them backwards. Razor flipped from his assault and dug his hands, now coated by his magical energy, into the floor as the wind whipped his loose hair around his head.
Herro slid back a few feet before he snapped up a shield. He glared at the laughing Magia across the room. The body was starting to look even more decrepit as the fight went on. Smirking Herro glanced to Razor and then back to Warlock.
Seeing the head movement, Razor nodded and darted in, his hand still wreathed in the Tiger’s Claw energy. Warlock threw a spell at him that he batted away wth his wrapped hand and kept on moving. With a sigh of resignation, Warlock moved back and extended his hand. In his hand a pure black orb started to form. It was less than two inches in diameter before Razor was on him. He let the orb go into Razor. The Amazon flew back, a blackness creeping across his front.
Herro moved right in slashing his blade at Warlock. This continued to push back Warlock who didn't dare put up a shield because of what happened last time. However, he reach out and caught the blade between his hands. Herro already recognized what would happen and instantly hand his arm out stretched and used an invisible wave of power to push Warlock across the room.
“i have an idea” herro said looking at razor who was shirtless. “umm your shirt--”
“yeah I know, and he is going to die for it. I might not have liked that shirt a lot, but really where does he get off destroying my wardrobe.”
“you are getting creepier by the moment. Anyways, would you like some fun? I think it's time to add some inferno razor into the mix”
Razor’s eyes went wide with excitement as Herro started chanting the spell. Then in a moment razor could feel power coursing all around him. Then his skin gave off a red aura that began to emit flame. He knew this feeling and was ready to try it again. A big smile went across his face. Then pushed the power into his blade and a red aura of flame surrounded the blade.
Herro on the other hand reached into a black portal and pulled out some more bullets and started reloading. Then he said “that fire is only good for a short while. However, I do have a plan to end this.” herro then loaded a round in the chamber.
Warlock looked a little worried about razor’s enchantment, but overall was still in very much control.
“Wonderful,” He chuckled as he hovered just off the ground ready for the first thing. He started putting his will into his hand preparing a spell which started to form as a black sphere in his hand, which he then threw at the burning razor. “I wish you were one of us. “
The blast hitting the flame and popping out of existence, as razor slowly circled the mage, “Sorry to disappoint. “
He looked up to Herro leveling the gunblade at him and pulling the trigger. The bullet whizzed towards Warlock who simply moved from its path of trajectory. Then as it passed it exploded sending cold wind in a wide expanding sphere. The dark mage looked at the source and his cocky expression disappeared for a minute as he saw ice beginning to form. He knew where this was going and tried to dart back to avoid it.
Razor took off just as the first bullet exploded. Again he said the name as he flashed stepped right up to Warlock and began his fiery offensive. He smiled and his eyes showed their excitement. You could swear he was making lightsaber noises while he slashed back and forth with amazing speed pushing Warlock further back.
Then Warlock pushed off and took towards the air to create distance. However, as he got some height another ice bullet came at him. He had to push off to stay out of the explosion, but Herro sent another one in the direction he was going, so reluctantly he had to drop down where razor was waiting.
As soon as Warlock landed Razor continued his assault. Warlock dodged the first couple of swings, but razor aimed low and did a diagonal cut down Warlock’s leg. Anything below the cut instantly turned to ash, and it caused the remaining part of the leg to catch fire. Razor then pulled the sword back to thrust the blade in Warlock’s figurative heart. However, it caused a opening and Warlock to put his arm up and sent a curse at Razor. The spell wasn't very charged but it made up for that in speed. It hit the flame aura and sent dark tendrils through it and caused it to wink out of existence. Razor grunted in pain as he shoved forward and hit Warlock driving him backward and to the ground, a ground now rimed with ice.
Razor fell to the ground with a groan, the mage now behind him. He sat on the ground, the remaining heat from his flames melting the ice in hissing steam. He glanced up seeing the mage floating above him. Dabbing at a small cut on his head he slowly stood and smiled at the almost gone corpse that Warlock controlled. What was left was even more burned and blistered and there were huge bits that were black and Frostbitten.
“You aren't looking so good,” Razor breathed out between breaths.
A grin that was just a Gash across the charred face, “yes, but you see, this is but a vessel. A ship for me to sail. You in the other hand princeling, are truly taking damage.”
Keeping his periphery on Razor and Warlock, Herro used the time to pull a medium sized bottle from his pocket. It was corked with the contents obscured by a frosting on the glass. With an overhand throw, he sent the bottle at Warlock as soon as the mage started his will into another spell.
A stunned Razor was hit and flew backwards. Warlock then looked up to see a bottle spinning in a arc towards him. It reminded him of a soda bottle but it didn't show any signs of magical harm. Warlock threw his hand up and grabbed the bottle. Glancing at the bottle full of red liquid and then at Herro he curled his mouth into a sneer.
“Did you really expect that to work? The cap wasn’t even off. Your father seriously lacked in your tr--”
Without replying Herro leveled his Gunblade and pulled the trigger. With a loud crack the small metal bullet left the barrel and blossomed into flames as it formed into a brilliant magnesium bright flame. It slammed into bottle in Warlocks hand, shattering the battle and igniting the liquid into a blazing flame that quickly turned into an explosion with a shockwave that blew out and sent both men flying away from the explosion.
Razor flew out the hole he’d made coming in, part of his body slamming against the stone. The last thing he remembered as his vision darkened was the night sky above and the thought of how beautiful it was. He felt his pains die to nothing as his consciousness faded.
Hitting the far end, Herro’s head slammed against the wall and caused his vision to blur. He fell to the floor and looked to see the smoke clearing. Seeing no trace of Warlock, he weakly grinned and laughed out, “Ha, It worked. I can’t believe that actually worked.” Letting his head slump he faded into blackness and lost all thought.
