Herra turned the corner and saw the color change Razor mentioned. She had to dodge a man running the other direction but slowed when she reached the darker colored tiles.
“Honestly I wish I had some warm water right now. I rather not face him like this. I may ruin my looks or clothes or worse my nails!”
Tsukiko appeared beside Herra keeping up with her. “what are you babbling about hon?”
“Oh just the possibility of ru-”
“seriously that's what you're concerned with? Your personality switches so much sometimes. Girly one moment, super tomboy the next. Let’s go on.”
The continued down the wing looking into dark cells. However, they could sense the danger near by which caused them to slow down to a stealthy walk. Then they both saw the cell door opened from down the hall. They both stopped their tracks to listen without being seen. It was so quiet all they could hear was their heart beat in their ears.
“Suga maybe we should wait for razor and his crew. I still don't think we are ready yet” Tsukiko whispered turning her head towards Herra
“No. There is no time. For as much as I would like to wait I don't want him to escape”
Herra pressed on getting ever so closer to the cell. The tension building ever so slowly until a noise from inside just about made them both jump. Herra burst into the light to face Sean.
In the cell stood a tall man with dark black hair that was slicked back. His eyes were cold and calculating as he stood looking at the small crystal orb in his hands. His facial features were similar to Herro but older and stronger. He turned to the door and a wide smile came across his face, “Why hello little brother.” his eyes did not match the smile they still showed little emotion.
“Sean,” Herra’s eyes narrowed as the words came out cold and menacing.
“Fancy seeing you here,” He looked behind her, “Come to help in my escape like that other guy?”
“I will gladly help you escape this life!” Herra pulled the wand out and it began to glow at the tip
“Ahh it seems dear sister is with you too” Sean’s gaze went over Herra at to where tsukiko stood out of sight. “it's a family reunion! Did dear father come as well? I would so like to see him again. Though it would be nice if I could get my weapon back first”
Herra snapped as she pulled her wand back to launch her spell, “Son't think less of me Sean I'm stronger than last time!”
Tsukiko grabbed her arm to stop her. “you’re right Sean like always. I'm right here”
“You look more and more like mother every time I see you. Seriously you are growing into such a beautiful woman. Just like our wonder brother Herro is!”
“Thank ya for the nice words, but you know what ya’ll did.” Tsukiko smiled quickly at that comment and faded back to a serious face, “Although we didn't know ya were here, don’t think we’ll allow ya to leave”
“You do realize I could destroy everyone here especially if I had my blade. Even with the handicap I will be leaving now.” Sean looked at Herra “you remember last time? I have you that souvenir on your face for challenging me little brother. Now unless father is here I will be seeing you both very soon again”
Tsukiko let go of Herra’s arm which allowed her to say a quick magic focus word and release a full power fireball at Sean. The fire erupted just before it hit Sean and puffed right out. Sean stood in the smoke unamused.
“You are decades away from being at my power” Sean stared intently at the twins and a invisible wall of force shot out so strong it picked them up and slammed them into the open cell across the hall. The twins slammed hard against the wall then hit the floor. Herra struggling to get up. Sean then released the pressure and with the swipe of the wrist caused the cell door to shut.
“thank you two for the reunion and warm up, but I really must get my blade. Take care of your sister little Tsukiko.” Sean said glancing at Herra with a smirk, “I promise to see you soon. Tell father I send my regards when you see him, but knowing him he will know before then. Bye bye”
I will find you and destroy you!” Herra yelled at him
The orb holding began to glow intensely engulfing Sean. Then after a couple seconds it went away along with Sean.
“damn it! That arrogant prick got away!” Herra said hitting the wall in anger. The twins now stood in silence and with the only light shining in from the hall waited for the Amazon court to release them.
Razor watches as Tsukiko runs past her on the way to where Herra was, she raises her eyebrow, “I hope they find what they’re looking for.
She kept walking and heard a trio of footsteps behind her. Spinning she saw Summer and the two guardsmen, with weapons drawn.
“Highness,” Frank said, “Let us guard you as well as Princess Summer.”
Razor opened her mouth and all that came out was a grunt as she was pushed forward from behind. The large square man Herra had to dodge bowled into her. He barely slowed as she fell forward towards the guards. Righting herself in a spin she popped the latch on one of the swords at her side, “Who are you?”
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
Hearing the words he stopped between Razor and the other three in the hallway. He spins with a grin on his face before bowing a low exaggerated bow, “Your royal highness.”
“Identify yourself.”
“Certainly,” He said straightening, his hands running through his dull sandy blonde hair before looking Razor straight in the eyes. His eyes were a deep brown as he smiled and pulled his shirt down to reveal his collarbone. Tattooed on skin above it was a blood red eight pointed star and on set in the center is the well detailed face of a cobra, its head extended, “I am Simon Deathhead of the BloodScar tribe.”
Razor cocked her eyebrow, “BloodScar? Well I am Razor Peacecraft, heir to the throne of IvorySun.”
“Yes. I know.”
“So why are you here, Simon?” Razor asks, her eyes narrow the green almost glowing.
He looked around, “I was sent to retrieve something that belongs to the Deathmagus, and you are not going to stop me.”
“What is it you seek?” Razor asked, fingers on her sword hilt shifting slightly, “We may be able to reach a compromise.”
“No.” He shook his head and shrugged, “I don’t think you understand. There is no negotiations. I will TAKE what I have come for and be gone.”
Summers voice was low and threatening, her eyes glowing pure red, “What makes you think you will make it out of here to take anything?”
Simon turned his head, “Quiet wench, I am speaking to the one in charge, and you are not it.”
Razor’s hand raised in the air stopped Summer as her eyes narrowed and she spun her tonfa in her hand. Her jaw clenched, but she stayed in place. Razor gave a small nod and turned to the man in between them.
“So,” She started, “We are going to have to do this the hard way.”
She darted forward, slashing her blade as she covered the few feet. Her sword met steel as Simon now held a claymore in his hands. The magic from its summoning still dissipating as he levered it up and threw the smaller Amazon away. He spun and deflected one of Summer’s strikes on his blade and the other on his arm, and slashed at her midsection. She spun and ducked behind the two guards, coming in with short swords swinging.
Simon uses the flat of his blade to deflect both blades and spins into a hard front kick as Razor came up behind him. His foot impacts her sword and stops her charge. Growling he glances sees his other assailants coming again. He throws his hands to the side and an orb of gale force wind blows from him, sending all of them into the walls, leaving cracked tiles as they fall to the floor.
“Farewell Peacecraft.” He said with a sneer as he took off the way he’d been headed.
Razor jumped to her feet and started after him, watching as a knife thrown by one of the guards flipped through the air and struck home in his back just before he rounded a corner. Simon’s grunt filled the hallway and the dagger skidded along the floor ahead of Razor. She dodged the blood trail and saw the man duck into the observation room where she’d been interrogating Calvin.
She curses under her breath and runs harder down the hallway. Before she gets in sight of the inside of the door a huge tearing is heard. Skidding to a stop Razor sees the man holding the female Calvin’s bound hands above her head, the chain still attached to a small piece of the table where the fixture had been attached.
He looked Razor in the face before grinning, “I don’t think this will be the last you see of me, Peacecraft.”
With a loud crack he shattered the small orb held in his other hand and blinked away, leaveing the room empty. With a loud scream, Razor threw her fist into the wall and started to stalk out, the others coming up from behind.
A few hours later a tall man dressed in a well pressed button down top and slacks stood outside the prison. His hair was a light purple, almost perfectly matching Razor’s female mode hair, with a slight bit of greying near his temples. The matching-colored goatee was perfectly trimmed with nary a hair out of place.
He gazed at the two guards from the prison, his green eyes boring into them. They stood at perfect attention, as perfect as possible for Frank anyway as his arm was in a sling.
The man spoke in a deep resonant voice, “The pair of you failed at your duties. An outsider broke in and stole not only my Heir’s prisoner but an advanced security one as well.”
“Yes, your Majesty,” Both said, heads bowed.
“You are both on paid leave,” The king said, “Both of you, go home and rest. I will have your commanders get a hold of you in the morning.”
“Yes, your Majesty,” They both said again, bowing at the waist before heading out towards the rest of the town.
The king smiled a sad smile as he watched them go, “You know old friend, I shouldn’t be surprised he sent an agent with what Razor is uncovering.”
A voice from behind him came clear, “You don’t have to be that hard on the guards. After all you just said we should have been expecting it.”
The king turned around slowly his smiling face going from a sad expression to one of at least gladness at seeing his old friend. The mage stood dressed in a grey kimono styled robe with a long staff being used as a walking stick. The mage’s hair was a deep brown with intermittent strands of grey. His eyes were bottomless pools of emerald, almost crowding out the pupil itself.
“Well,” The King said with a long sigh, “Most of ruling is appearance, then there is delegation, and finally a bit of what is real.
“Besides,” The King continued, “I have them on paid leave.”
The mage laughed and shook his head, “That aside it is good to you see, even if the circumstances themselves aren’t that pleasant.”
“Tomorrow is Wednesday, so we can meet a day early after we get done here.” The king tipped his head.
“So they got Sean?” The mage asked knowing the answer, but having to get to business anyway, “Damn it. He already turned him into a drone, what more is he going to do?”
The king shook his head, “I wouldn’t go that far. A pawn maybe, but Sean can still think for himself, he’s just completely convinced he’s on the right side and us the wrong.”
“Almost as bad. I had you keep him so we could try and unwash his brainwashing.” The mage said, fingers pinching the bridge of his nose between closed eyes.
“Yeah,” The king said, “We know he must need him if he sent one of his augmented elite to get him.”
“I think we need to change your barriers Vic,” The mage glanced at Victor.
Victor smiled, “I was going to ask you if you had any suggestions. We have a built in spell to keep Warlock out but that in and of itself let them bypass the anti-teleportation for all but a few. We still need the prevention of both Albert. We can’t have agents of Warlock using his essence as a come and go bypass.”
“A go one at least. I may have a solution to the problem,” Albert grinned.
“Good,” Victor laughed, “Lets fix it and have some tea.
Albert said with his face somber, “this may work to our advantage as warlock continues to gather his force. Even though I had wished Sean would listen to reason it's a good thing. Warlock though a threat is adding too many loose ends. Sean for instance will be going to find his sword and I know where it is. We can either follow him or any other loose end back to the source. It's just a matter of time.”
“Good to see you don’t change. Always playing twenty moves ahead and figuring the best lemons to use for the lemonade a season before you make it.” Victor said before changing the topic, “I gave the kids some downtime. Razor says they know where the base is and wants to fix it personally. So they’ll need to be at peak, and they’ll rest even if I have to tie them down.”
Albert rolled his eyes, “May I add your son seems to be just like you at That age. He will grow into a great person and an even better ruler.”
“That is the plan.” Victor said walking towards the large mansion side by side with Albert.
