Chapter 8: Exploring The Study

Nathan explained to the Scribe Eater the circumstances behind his appearance as he continued his search for something that would let them out of the study. With "Origin" in tow headed for the furthest doors at the end of the hall. The Scribe Eater, now that she was confident he was the Hero and not just Iris’s delusions, her entire attitude changed.

"So, if you were human before you woke up, how did you come to look like this, what was your appearance before?"

"Well, to be completely honest, besides the tail and the ears, I look pretty much the same, with little less mass. I had enough muscle to let most people recognize my gender without a second look, with this slender body, I can foresee many awkward situations."

"Perhaps "Lady Amelia" could tell you, when she returns."

Nathan stopped walking.

"Amelia, you mean she’s coming back here?"

“Of course, this is her home, after all.”

This was weird, if Amelia lived here and was planning on returning, then why would she tell Iris that she would be able to leave wants he had woken up. She could have let them out when she got back, there was no need to leave any instructions. Somethings not adding up.

Hey, did Iris ever speak with Amelia, face to face?"

"No never, Lady Amelia has not returned since the fairy awoke."

"Did she return often before then?"

"I wouldn’t often, but to be honest, this has been the longest she’s been away."

“……………..Oh boy.”

Amelia wasn’t coming back, she wasn’t the Scribe Eater held her in high regard from the way she’s talking, yet Amelia didn’t tell her she was leaving. She was looking worse and worth to Nathan; he couldn’t understand why these two respect her so much.

"Nathan, is there something wrong?"

"Oh no, nothing let's just keep sear-……………. wait, did you just called me Nathan?”

"Ah, yes, you don’t like it?”

"No, it’s fine, I'm just, pleasantly surprise. I thought you thought my name was Giant or Human.”

"How could I be so disrespectful to the Hero, and the way I been acting until now, please forgive me."

As Nathan listened to her apologies he laughed under his breath, it sounded more and more like, she was trying to keep him from incriminating her.

"Hmmm, I don't know, I was really upset you know, fireballs thrown at me, bitten, continuously distrusted, all the name calling, I think I’ll have a chat with “Amelia”, you know, about how you acted, while she was away.”

"Please, Please, not that.” *BAM*

The Scribe Eater in her haste too prostate herself, rammed her head into the ground and knocking herself out, once again, while Nathan just laughed.

_ _ _ "Uuh, ooww.

"Ah, your awake."

"Awake, h-high!?"

The Scribe Eater looked down at the stairs and the scenery of the ground moving further away.

"T-The ground, so high, why am I?"

"Calm down, you’re in my hood, I put you there after you knock yourself out, again."

Nathan was glad that Abigail knocked herself out when she did, he didn't have to tell her about Amelia just yet, even though it’s not what he expected, they just started to get along and he didn't want to ruin it. He decided to explore the area he and Iris skipped earlier, she said that what they needed would have a very large mana projection, but after examining the sheath for "Origin" he discovered in ability called "Nothingness". The ability can erase all traces of the object, no detection skills could locate it, basically the only way to find it was if you knew where to look or had extremely good luck. Though there is one way around this ability, someone who had a special link with the item the sheath/chest was protecting.

P-Please p-put me down, how could I be so disrespectful as to ride the hero."

"Nonsense, I put you there, besides did you here would I ask you?"

"N-No, I didn't."

"Please tell me your name."

"Anais.”

"Anais, that's a very human name, your parents named you that?"

No………….it was Lady Amelia.

"Amelia, why not your parents?"

"They …...........aren't here anymore."

"Oh, I am so sorry."

"No, Master Nathan did nothing wrong, but I appreciate the sentiment.

"Master, no you don't need to call me that, Nathan’s fine."

"I cannot simply keep referring to the Hero without showing him due respect, never again."

"I swear, you and Iris worry about the weirdest things."

"Speaking of the fairy, how could she allow Master Nathan to walk around, looking like that?”

"She didn't, like said, I woke up like this."

"No, your clothes, those rags are not fit for someone of your status."

Nathan had forgotten all about his appearance, and over the course of his exploration, their condition had worsened. Abigail leaped from the hood to the floor.

"We need to find you something else, and it just so happens that where were headed now has just what we need."

"Oh, well lead the way."

Abigail scurried down the hall and Nathan followed. As they passed by, Nathan notice one of the doors was slightly open. That must be the room Iris had the bad experience in. He be sure to check that room on his way back; he really was curious as to why she would not want to come back here.

"Here, this is it."

Abigail slid through the gap beneath one of the doors. A wardrobe waited inside, many different style of clothes that range from simple robes to sturdy armor. Amelia is a woman, so seeing this wasn’t too surprising. He himself, once lived with a family who designed clothes, he was use to such things. It looked like every other room from the outside but the inside was far larger. Though Nathan had a sneaky suspicion, he took down one of the green hoods closest to him.

"Examine"

Wind Cloak                        Class: Queen ⍟⍟

Cloak imbued with wind element.

Effects: Wind Resistance, 50% Wind Damage Reduction

Just as he had thought, various garbs in here were magic. With all the magical items Amelia had stored in this study, there was no way she had a wardrobe of completely normal clothes. Nathan search through each searching for something not enchanted, something that was similar to what he wore in his previous world.

"Master Nathan, over here, this is perfect for someone of your stature."

"Oh yeah........... I mean, oh no."

What Anais had chosen was without a doubt, the single gaudiest armor he had ever seen in his life. It shined like gold, it looked heavy, absolutely no maneuverability. Nathan thought it was similar to the armors you get towards the end of an “RPG”, the one you work so hard to get. Extra side quest, unnecessarily strong mini-bosses, trading, trading, and more trading. Only to finally get it and in order to use it you have to do something stupid to activate it, like losing money every step, strong attack but terrible traction so you slide, leaving you open for attack, boost one of your stats to the max, but lowers all others, or the worse, does absolutely nothing, but looks good. Nathan looked down at Anais, her eyes had a sparkle in them, as if they were saying "praise me".

"Ughhh, Anais, I don't really like to stand out, do you think you could find me something less conspicuous."

Abigail's ears flopped to the floor.

"Y-You don't like it?"

"No, no, no, no, I-I love it, you did a great job and finding it, however it's so nice that I would hate to ruin it while looking for a way out, I mean look at what I wearing now, you don't want this nice armor getting ruined now would you?"

"True, that would not be good."

Exactly, so let's find something that I can wear right now, something similar to what I'm wearing, and save the armor for another time."

"Hmm okay."

With that she turned and begin her search anew. Crisis Averted.

Ding, ding, ding.

Persuasion Increased +3

"(Shut up.)”

"Master Nathan, I found something."

This time around he hoped it was something normal. When saw what she pointed out she found that it was actually something good. It was simple hooded robe outfit, a black robe and pants. Nathan examined it, no special effects.

"Do you like it?"

"Yes, this is perfect." *fwip*

 “W-What are you doing?"

"I'm putting on the clothes, what does it look like?"

"Y-You can't just drop your pants in front of me, wait until I leave."

Abigail, hurriedly, rounded a corner, but Nathan didn't mind, undressing in front of a mouse was not something he thought as embarrassing.

"Your reactions are really maiden-like, much different than Iris."

"The fairy is accustomed to seeing your bare body, with all those perverted acts she performs, of course she would not be surprised.

"Sheesh, she can be a little... excessive, but a pervert, she was just taking care of me. She just got some bad instructions, it’s not her fault.

"You don't know because you were asleep, the things she did to you were the acts of a deviant.”

"Oh yeah, she won't be doing that anymore."

"She told you!?"

"Yeah, I know about……………………."The Lather", I dumped it all out."

"No, dumping it out doesn't matter, she can just make more, plus “The Lather was only the beginning of her perversion. After she finished she doing that would then, begin scrubbing you down. Sure it sounds innocent enough, but that only refer to your upper body. Once she gets to the lower half, her skill becomes God-Like. Every move, every touch, so calculated. In her expressions, the flushed face, the heavy breathing, the drool, all as she so joyously strokes your dic-

"Stop, don’t say anything else.”

Anais was loss in her memories, completely tuning out Nathan’s cries for her to stop.

"She just keeps repeating over and over, almost clean, almost clean, so focus, the room become hot, so much sweat, her strokes so precise, as she nears goal, and then she picks up the pace.

"SHUT UP, SHUT UP, SHUT UP!”

"Up, down, up, down, twist, twist, twist, jerk and squeeze, jerk and squeeze, until finally, ERUPTION!

"Please, please, for goodness sake, stop explaining.

Nathan stood there, cupping his face, now beet red either from embarrassment or shame. He needed to have a long chat with Iris when he gets back. Nathan fully dressed step around the corner, he could see the expression on Anais’s face, she was still lost in her mind. Then a thought hit him.

"…..............................Anais, how could you know all this with such detail, unless you witness it firsthand?"

"..............................."

That question snapped her out of her delusions. Anais looked up to Nathan, made no excuse and once again, prostrated herself.

"I'm am sorry…….I-I couldn’t look away.”

Nathan just stood there, cupping his face.
