Chapter 5: Lime, My Love!! / Sora, Friend Of (The)God

The god was in his room, relaxing.

“I know you're there, honey.” The god said

A beautiful woman appeared.

“Hey, my little lime. I’m surprised to see my little lime come all the way to the castle. I’ve missed you horribly. To think you woke up before me, you even had so many adventures without me! It slightly hurts. I’m glad the madness isn't a part of you, anymore. You seem to have come back to your senses.” Said the god, as if he had just been given back the most important thing in existence.

I guess it wouldn't be wrong if someone said that.

“I have enough sense now to know that you aren’t the only one who missed someone else, Evan. Its been a while, hasn't it, dear?” Said Lime, smiling

“To think We’ve lived long enough to be ancient ancestors of a large family, time flies pretty quickly for us, doesn’t it. The power that we passed down can cause death if it’s too strong, their bodies are human at this point, after all, even if they carry our power with genetic inheritance. Haruto is one thing, but Yui is much weaker than him. She may die when the time comes for the inheritance to awaken. Considering the strength of her inheritance, I’m worried she may be destroyed body and soul from it. I feel way too much like a worried mom, don’t I. I’m guessing you have a plan,or at least I’m hoping you do?” Said the woman

“Yes, yes, I’m aware of how our family works. I chose to bring them to the other world for a reason. Take a guess.” Said the god.

“I don’t even know what world you're sending them to. You asked knowing full well I know nothing, didn’t you. Mean. Hmph.” Said Lime, in a way the god couldn’t help but think was cute.

“You are the best damn thing to ever happen to me.” Said the god half teasing half serious.

“Meanie” said lime, cheeks puffed in anger.

The god suppressed the urge to hug her.

“Either way, due to our struggle, there are plenty of worlds which have remnants of our power in them. Exposing them to that power could help a little. To think we came from pretty much the same type of era as Haruto and Yui, but we're their ancestors. Reality really did become fragmented, didn’t it.” Said the god, starting to become concerned.

“We're still here, we still have enough power to fix it. It isn’t too late. But I think stabilizing reality to work as it does now is a better idea, rather than putting everything back. Making everything go back would destroy endless dimensions and an unfathomable amount of people would die. You just have to make sure it doesn’t fall apart.” Said lime.

“You’re right about that, I guess I’ll stabilize it like this.” The god said snapping his fingers. In that instant everything in every dimension seemed to somehow solidify itself in a way only gods could understand.

“D-Did you j-just-“ stuttered lime, surprised.

“Yes, even if you were to divide it in half or subtract a number, infinity will still be infinity, the same goes for omnipotence, and I am omnipotent. We’ve known each other for virtually all of time, how did you forget that?” Wondered the god.

“Well, I mean......yeah. Still, we went through the same thing, yet you have so much more power than I do. I guess I was basing it off of myself for a standard of power. Damn, if I didn’t know any better I’d call you a hacker.” Said lime, exasperated and laughing dryly.

“Well, considering what I did to make us this way, you aren’t exactly wrong in saying I used hacks.” said the god.

“True, the way it worked is how hacks work in a- wait, that’s not the point! We were here to talk about Haruto and Yui!” Said lime

“Haruto has your power while Yui has mine, correct? I’ll have trouble with Haruto, due to the fact your power conflicts with my omnipotence. Therefore, I am handing him over to you! Watch over him in the new world ok? I’ll deal with Yui, I can solve that easily.” Said the god.

“How do you plan on making it possible for me to help him in the other world?” Asked lime.

“I’ll be connecting you to their system thing. You can monitor them with that, and you have a little bit of power to interact with things or help them in certain situations. Other than that there isn’t much I can do…” said the god

“Well, that’s good enough for me, but I was wondering something. Yui seemed to recognize you, why?” Asked lime.

“Oh, that. I’m the god of their family, just like you, aren’t I? You have been wandering through different dimensions. I’ve been watching over our family for countless generations. Yui is one of the priest girls. I’ve talked to her before, so she probably recognized me or my voice. The family is such a stern believer because they can actually communicate with their god on a regular basis. Heck, I even have a room there. The only people who know how I look would be either elders of the family, or the priestesses. Even if I walked around the house they would probably remember me as a friend of our family, rather than their god. I’ve watched over our family for a long time, I’ve known all of the elders since they were born and their parents and grandparents etc. I’m pretty good friends with some people in the family, too. I’ll bring you next time I go, I can show you around. The family is filthy rich and influential, so they have an amazing mansion. I wonder how the head elder would react when the family god brings his wife over, he would probably faint from shock.” Said the god, rambling on and on. The narrator has chosen to cut the rest of this blabbering fools words and actions and has put them to the side stories instead.

“So… why exactly did you bring Haruto and Yui out of every generation of our descendants. What makes them so different that it warrants bringing them to another world?” Asked lime

“Well, as we said, they inherited more power from us, right? Well, it’s a monstrous amount. It’s so much that your power caused Haruto to develop a twisted split personality. You were watching what happened during dinner.” Explained the god.

“Then what about Yui?” Asked the woman. “That...that’s...well, it’s kinda hard to explain it. Yui has both the inheritance that the family successors have and the power I’ve allowed the family to grant to their priests. So, for now she'll be fine, but I honestly have no idea what would happen if the power awakens. The combination of our two powers make them cancel each other out. Yui and Haruto are together most of the time, so I think it’s possible that may cause the awakening to be less intense. As long as they stay close together the awakening might get delayed longer, or possibly even forever depending on how the two powers react with each other. I think the proximity may play a role as well as their emotions. Different emotions do indeed seem to affect their power, intense emotions seem to cause the power to become greater than normal. That might be able to play a role in helping them gain control over their power. Up until now, Haruto had literally no idea about any of this stuff even though his sister was one of the families priests, it baffles me to see exactly how dense he is. Whenever he used his power before he was unaware of what it was, or what he was doing, which might have caused a few issues with his behavior. it seems our Haruto doesn’t have a single bit of your power, it’s controlled solely by that twisted personality. Yui has had some practice, but only with the priests power, not the inherited power. Still, she has better control due to that training. However, just like your power caused side effects like harutos split personality, so too does my power.” Rambled the god again.

“Your power has a side effect? That makes no sense, I can see why mine would but yours?!? Is Yui alright?” Exclaimed lime, shocked.

“Uh, yeah, well, you see, the side effect of my power causes the person to become weak to the person who holds your power. So basically, Yui would listen to Haruto without question, if ordered. I think” Said the god, mostly joking

“What. Wait, so. The side effect my power would cause is madness, which I can understand due to the nature of my power, but your powers side effect makes no sense!” Said lime, with obvious confusion.

“Well. If I were to take a guess. It may be due to my feelings towards you…My! Little! Lime!...” said the god.

“Oh. Yeah, that does make sense, I guess...NOT! I know how you feel towards me but for it to be so much that it literally causes side effects to those who inherit your power? Exactly how much would you have to love a person to literally change...reality….for….them. Oh. My husband is way to weak to his wife isn’t he, haha! Well don’t worry, I feel just the same way, as it has always been.” Said lime happily, with a large smile.

“And as it always shall be.” Said the smiling god

“I hate to interrupt you two and your, uh.. touching moment, but I’m here to talk to you two.” Said a voice.

The person who said it walked out into the light.

It was Sora.

“Ah! You wanted to discuss what's happening, right? I forgot we promised to speak later.” Said the god.

“Wait, why is he here? How does he know you? I thought we could finally have some time alone!” lime complained

“Sora is a friend of mine, a very bright young man. I discussed bringing him to another world with Haruto and the others, before I brought them here. He suggested bringing Akari, so I talked with her guardian and explained the situation. They agreed because they thought it could make her more responsible. Their logic for it was weird, even for someone from our family. Though, I must say, Sora, Akari is indeed quite interesting. A good person, but pretty naive. No, Dear, Akari knew nothing about any of this, neither did Yui or Haruto. Sora, what did you want to talk about?” Replied the god, being poked by lime

“Ah, well, I just wanted to meet your wife, who you NEVER stop talking about, and ask you where we will be ending up when we travel to the other world.” Said Sora.

“See, the reason I had you guys wait was because I’m sending you guys over to the kingdom of Eltraze, there is a ceremony to summon people from another world that is going to happen soon. You should be greeted by the king when you arrive. I guess I’ll ask you to make sure Haruto shuts up, and for you to take care of the diplomacy.” Said the god.

“Why are you putting so much faith into this child?” Asked lime

“Well…. he is probably the smartest person currently on earth, and excels at every subject. He is also proficient in many different skills and activities, he’s the person who you usually ask yourself if there is anything he can’t do. Be it art, martial arts, academics, politics, games, even just trivia, he would be the best. He doesn’t really like showing off, though. I guess he is kinda lazy, like I was.” Said the god.

“That’s kinda embarrassing...I just got a compliment from god himself. Either way, I guess I’ll send the king your regards. I’ll be going to sleep now, also even if you guys are together for the first time after a long while, don’t be too loud when you go to sleep ok?” Said Sora while holding in a laugh. The god turned bright red a few seconds later after processing what he said, as did lime.

The night would be over soon, and it’s almost time for our heroes to journey to a whole new world!
