Chapter 4: Akari
While it wasn’t the first time she had seen him act like this, this was the first time Akari had felt so suffocated by his aura. The first time she had seen him behave this way felt warm to her, when he was angry with some people who had been trying to harass her. This time she felt cold. She knew it wasn’t the same person that she had been friends with. He wasn't the lovable fool that she had fallen for. This wasn’t the fun and kind man who would help her whenever she asked. This person was cold, someone who didn’t seem like they would bat an eye at murder. It was a feeling she had never experienced from him before. Haruto was the one who made her love life again. It was her turn to try to help him.
It was late at night, and Akari was sneaking out of her room, trying not to wake yui.
Akari made her way to the throne room.
“You came.” Said the god, partially covered by darkness.
“You know why I’m here, don’t you.” Said Akari, not as a question, but a statement, a small frown on her face.
“Indeed I do.” The god said coldly. The chill of winter seemed to blow through the windows of the castle, and made it to the throne room where she stood. It made her wonder exactly what this world was, but it wasn’t time for that, what she wanted to do came before anything else, even before getting home...and even before her own life.
“If I have a wish, I can use it on anything, right?” Said Akari.
“I flipped through some of the books around the castle, I found one that was pretty interesting. It told of an item that can cure a wounded heart. I would like that. My wish. My only wish, please use it to get me that item!” said Akari.
“A broken heart is not the illness Haruto carries. You should have already realized that. However, you had a wish, you could have asked for money, power, fame, or even to go back home. But you wished for something on another’s behalf rather than to help yourself. Think about your wish, I’ll let you make another, and I’ll give you this because of your selflessness. The next wish you make must be a selfish wish though. Keep that in mind.” Said the god slightly touched by her intentions, handing her an item.
“Thank you. What is this in front of it though?” Asked Akari, smiling subtly.
“That’s a game screen, I recommend asking Haruto more about it, he can probably explain it in a more satisfying way.” Said the god.

“Why can I see it now, but I couldn’t before?” Asked Akari.
“You used a wish, I’ve made it so after a person uses a wish it automatically grants them stuff like this, the basics of any otherworldly adventure. Since you have access to it earlier than most I recommend you have a look around my castle, familiarize yourself with how it identifies stuff. Feel free to keep anything you find interesting, too, it has an unlimited storage feature so you don’t have to worry about lugging heavy stuff around everywhere, you will likely figure out the rest of how it works over time. Just think of a backpack or something that carries objects and hold onto whatever you want to put in, or think of an object that’s in there to take it out. Also you can scream 'inventory' at the top of your lungs to bring up a menu screen for it. It will have information on what’s stored inside it and what the stored item is or does. Again, it has unlimited space, so feel free to suck up an entire lake if you wanted to!” Said the god
“Really? An entire lake?” Asked Akari, dumbfounded by how powerful this ability sounded.
“Well yes, but actually no. You see, to put stuff in you need a lot of concentration, and it uses up some mana as well. Again, you will learn about that later, unless you already know about it. So theoretically storing an entire lake is indeed possible, but it’s unlikely for you to ever have the mental capacity or mana necessary to do so.” Said the god.
“My head hurts, I’ll go take a look around then, like you suggested. It sounded more like a hint than a suggestion though.” Said Akari
“Oh my, was it that obvious?” Said the god, as he moved his face into the light, a large happy smile on his face
“I wish I could have been able to help Haruto directly. This issue to me, however, isn’t as easy as snapping my fingers. Akari, that much I will apologize for. Even if you had directly wished for him to be freed from his madness I couldn’t do that, omnipotent or not.” Said the god.
“Good luck then!” He said as he vanished into thin air, as though he had never even been there at all.
“Well then, where should I start looking? It sounds like it could be something pretty important.” Said Akari, becoming engrossed in searching for a hidden object
“Let’s go to the kitchen, it could be in there.” Akari said, rushing to the kitchen.
“Hm. I gurss is not hbere” said Akari, her mouth stuffed with food.
“Where else could it be?” Akari wondered after swallowing the food, as in all of the food. The castle literally had no more food. She headed off and looked through the entire castle, until she exhausted herself.
“Nothing, jeez, I looked everywhere! *sigh* I guess I should go to bed, though it’s pretty unfortunate that I couldn’t find it, I wonder what it was.” Akari said, as she headed to her room. When she arrived, she saw something on her pillow. A small pouch. She tried using the ability she had got earlier on it.
“What is this? Hmm. The screen thingy says-! Goddamnit, you stupid god I swear to ~~~.” Swore Akari. The information on the pouch said: Important item that you couldn’t find even though you likely looked everywhere. Small item pouch, contains an item that is important for Akari. Will open upon transfer to the other world.
“Ahhhhhhhhgh!” Said Akari annoyed
“I’ll just sleep, thank god Yui sleeps through anything, apparently….. why did I even need to sneak out, then. Damn it, I was trying to be extra quiet too! I guess it wasn’t necessary.” Akari mumbled as she jumped onto her bed, and fell asleep, exhausted by the events that had been occurring.
