Yet again we find ourselves... Grinding!

Yet again we find ourselves... Grinding!

Sheep! There were freaking sheep in the first level of the dungeon! Not only that, but a single sheep from this first floor was more than enough to deal with more than 10 Murlocs.

I was pretty sure that mine and D's mouth were opened big enough to fit an ostrich egg... Why? Because when I entered the dungeon there were two things that we both saw:

Alert!

Due to the summoning contract between Michael Corbett and Decarbia Astor, they are considered as Master and Servant, allowing the sharing of experience.

You can adjust the amount of experience gained by either party, by thinking of the percentage to be split.

Alert!

Due to the relationship between the individuals Michael Corbett and Decarbia Astor, all damage between the two of them dealt by either to the other, is completely negated.

Moreover, obviously, there wasn't only that, but once I used Identify on the sheep and their Status Page appeared, D could see it as well.

"Bullshit!" - I couldn't help but blurt out

What the hell was with that Physical Attack Nullification on a mere sheep? If they are vulnerable only to magic attacks, wasn't I completely useless? Also, why the hell do they have a racial explanation and such high stats!? Even without the nullification I would still barely be able to win against one...

Racial explanation:

A sheep variant that received the protection of a dungeon and through it, acquired both strength and a fiery temperament.

Usually calm, spending their days eating grass and basking in the sun, these sheep can become absolute Gods of slaughter once provoked!

My knees almost gave out once I read the lines. What the actual fuck!? How can a sheep even become a 'God of slaughter'!? Actually, you know what? I really don't even want to see that...

[Master, it appears that the entire floor is as big as we can currently see it and there aren't any other of these 'monsters' lying in wait. On the hill in front of us, we can consider there to be the entire monster army in this room.](D)

"The Boss?"

[I think is the ram in the middle. He does look slightly bigger than the rest.](D)

"Let's take a look at its Status Page then!"

I expected as much but... wasn't this guy sufficient to trample and gore the entire first floor of the eastern dungeon alone? And what's with those skills? Is he a freaking earth bender? Not to mention the Dungeon Blessing which gave him an additional 100MP and 100HP, his entire Status Page is above mine big time...

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Physical Atack Nullification (Passive) LvL??? : Do you think the wool is just for decoration? Your attacks will be absorbed easily by the fluffy mana imbued sheep!

Earth Shield (Active) LvL???: With his desire to protect the heard, the Ram Commander created his own magic, capable of protecting an entire group of sheep!

Furry of the Sheep (Active) LvL???: Do you think my sheep are easy to bully? Do you think you can withstand the furry of the sheep!?

I felt my face covered by multiple black lines when reading the descriptions. I expected as much but... wasn't this guy sufficient to trample and gore the entire first floor of the eastern dungeon alone? And what's with those skills? Is he a freaking earth-bender?

"I think we might have to..."

However, before I could speak, the demoness beside me invoked some sort of skill that created thunderclouds above the hill in front of us. Eh… If I had to describe the floor in a rather simple and plain matter, it would be a vast valley filled with grass and other smaller plants and one small hill in the middle of it, where it appeared that the entire 'herd' was resting. Quite beautiful with a rustic and pleasant feeling to it to be honest.

The only problem was that now, the 100+ sheep were wide awake and glaring with their red eyes above them, at the dark clouds that could be visibly seen due to the slight lightning wandering through them from time to time, roaring through the silence of the night. And then it happened...

*BZZZZT!*

A loud noise representing pure electricity descended on the unaware monsters, followed by a multitude of similar others bolts, making the hill appear a stranded island in the middle of an ocean, pelted continuously by savage storms.

After four to five minutes have passed and the 'sky' cleared up of the thunderclouds, there wasn't anything else left in the middle of the valley, not even the hill itself. In their place however, a small mountain of items raised to the sky, glimmering under the light of the mana crystals...

Recovering from my stupor by taking a deep breath, I glanced at the heavily overpowered demoness by my side, which by the way was smiling like a child that did a good deed and was waiting for praise. I sighed heavily. I raised my hand and patted her on the head, once more relying on my thick skin to complete the intimate contact.

"Good job!" - I quietly said

[Mm!](D) - she nodded slightly

Just seeing the multitude of items on the ground, I was utterly ecstatic about the fact that I had Decarbia with me, otherwise even with the cart I brought outside, there wasn't anywhere near enough space for all of them.

"Let's see what sort of luck you have D."

[What do you mean master?](D)

"Do you see the items spread on the ground?"

[Yes...](D)

"They drop once monsters are killed in the dungeon and are usually things that we can bring back to camp in order to improve our civilization's progress. This time, seeing the monster which we... you killed, something that we really need might actually become available."

And what do you know... it was actually there. Of course, there was probably a 99% chance ‘it’ would drop…

[Master... is this...?](D)

"Wool. And huge amounts of it as well! Hahaha! Look at that puzzled face of yours love... don't worry, you will automatically understand once you see the main camp. For now, let's see what else is available for us to plunder..."

Beside wool, there were a pair of gloves that one could identify as being out of the ordinary with a single glance. However, in my case the Identify was an actual skill, therefore I had a bit more insight when compared with normal people.

Earth shattering gloves - Gloves created from the skin and wool of the Battle Ram.

Passive skill: -25% decrease in physical damage received.

Active skill: Mini-Earth shield

Yet another good item dropped from the Boss. It made me wonder if the Vortex Lance would drop once more after the eastern dungeon is refreshed. That would require further testing though...

[Master, is that a magic artefact? There are magic undulations coming from it...](D)

"I guess you could consider it as so. Here, take a look at its description."

While I let Decarbia wonder at the effects of the pair of gloves, I surprisingly found small ore deposits among the wool and under it. Using Identify on it once again, I received a nice shock once more.

Gold ore - A metal heavily imbued with mana

Zinc ore - A metal heavily imbued with mana

And there were at least about 20kg of each... This was truly excelent!

"Judging from the fact that the monsters were impervious to physical damage, the fact that the gloves have an active skill that is related to the Earth element and now even ores drop, not only that but the previous dungeon had a lake and water monsters to match it..."

[..it means that each one of these strange places might represent a specific element. This one might be Earth in this case. Is that your speculation master Michael?](D)

"Indeed. But D, if that's the case and we might encounter something like Golems on the following floors, your fire and lightning magic would be rendered useless..."

[Don't worry master! If the monsters have resistance to those two elements, than if I combine them both in a spell, even if they can nullify either they will not be able to resist the combination.](D)

"Somehow... remembering the previous large area spell you used with only lightning magic, makes me quite frightful when thinking of what kind of monstrous spell you can create by combining two elements."

[It is quite so... I saw it only once being used by a middle-rank demon in a fight between armies. Over two thousand demons low and middle-rank alike were wiped out of existence without being able to fight back. It was quite awe-inspiring.](D)

Seeing her nod her head but unaware that she just suggested to use that sort of spell just seconds ago, made me wipe invisible perspiration from my forehead.

"Anyway, it's good that we have this type of dungeon. That means that we can 'mine' while fighting and increasing our levels with ease here. Oh, right! Speaking of that, did your level increase?"

[Yes! It increased to 12... Should I use the free attribute points?](D)

"No need for now. Seems like I also jumped to level 8 in one go... that's quite the power leveling... How is your MP?"

[72% of the total capacity master!](D)

"It actually went up? How much did you use on your previous spell?"

[10%...](D)

"Holly crap! You can actually use that spell 10 times in a row? Maybe even more when taking in consideration your mana regeneration... It is quite ridiculous to be honest."

[Is that bad?](D) - she asked with an uncertain light in her eyes

"On the contrary, is quite good! With your help as well as Alexandra's, clearing out the dungeons will be a breeze in the future! Oh! There are three skill books?"

Out of the three of them, two were the [Tailoring] skill, while the second one was (to my utmost happiness) [Blacksmithing]. For the first time I actually wondered if these skill books were more like class changing items, given that the elves are currently Tier 1 but no class.

"That makes me think that there might be a difference between the Job Tier and the Soul Tier. I should consult with Mia regarding this, otherwise I won't be able to make heads or tails of it on my own due to the lack of information. However, having that lass hack into the main system again…"

"Obviously there aren't any weapons or armors... What can I say, beggars can't be choosers. D, can you please move all the items in your inventory?"

[Inventory?](D)

"*Cough! Cough!* Your pocket dimension... calling it inventory makes it simpler on my end."

[Oh, I see! It sounds interesting, so I will call it the same!](D)

I am certain that there was a shade of red covering my face due to being to embarrassed to look Decarbia in the eye. My previous gaming enthusiasm was taking over once more... I had to rely on my thick skin once more.

Fortunately, I wasn't able to remain in that state of mind even a second longer, due to a large violet magic circle, filled with strange runes and inscriptions, covering the entire loot on the ground. Then, as if it was a lie, everything else vanished.

[It has been done master!](D)

"I can see that D... you are amazing, you know that?"

[Hihi!](D)

I stood there thunderstruck by her sweet laughter, lost in the beauty of her shy appearance. Seeing the several layers of red shades on her cheeks, I finally got a grip and barely managed to remove my gaze from her impossibly attractive figure.

The situation was rather awkward… therefore, I took the lead and once again relying on my thick skin in order to decide the next course of action.

"Should we take a look at the second floor then? I would like to fight a bit as well and if possible, raise my level to 10. That way I'll be able to get a Job."

[Mhm! I will follow master...](D) - she agreed with a slight nod

Looking at the floor and following the valley on the opposite side of the entrance, we found a flight of stairs descending, most probably, to the second level.

To my surprise, after five steps on the stairs that appeared to extend in the darkness infinitely, we already arrived at our destination.

"This... there's quite the drastic change between first and second floor..." - I quietly complained

Decarbia seemed to agree, but sent a sharp stare to the ceiling from which stalactites were pointing at us, reminding me of the demo-dungeon.

Throughout the barely glowing mana crystals, a cave like environment appeared, gloomy and for some reason... threatening.

[Master... I am afraid that I can't take all the monsters out in one spell like before...](D)

"Hmm? Why do you say that?"

[They are hiding on the ceiling among the stalactites. It's probably the type of monsters that likes to ambush its prey.](D)

"I understand, however we need to at least take a look at them... I will act as bait, so please tell me where an isolated monster can be found. However, if things get messy and I get jumped by more than one monster, don't worry and just cast your spells without a worry. Your magic won't be able to damage me, but it will damage the enemies. Alright?"

[Are you sure master?](D)

"Positive!"

After all, the system said so and it doesn’t have a reason to fuck with me… probably…

[...understood! It won't be that difficult actually. From what I can sense, we are already targeted by one of them, so if you take a couple of steps forward it will attack you for sure.](D)

"I see. Thank you! Stand by and be prepared to act if necessary. Your life comes first, since even if I die you can still remain and help my elves. Okay?"

[...please don't speak of such ominous things master Michael.](D)

"Haha! Let's see what this rusty short swords are capable of then, shall we?"

It didn't even take the two steps Decarbia mentioned and something fell at high speed towards me from the ceiling. Gazing at the strange object, I brandished my two swords and sent a strike at it.

Damage inflicted! HP -3!

Due to the piercing effect of the blow, your target is inflicted with Bleeding status! Status resisted!

Due to the crippling effect of your blow, your target is inflicted with Slow status! Status resisted!

Damage received! -126HP!

The impact sent me hurtling on the wall of the cave next to the scared Decarbia. Seeing the brown blob moving on the ground in my direction, I hurriedly used Identify since the amount of damage I received wasn't even close to be compared to the damage it dealt to me.

"Well fuck... D, can we deal with it?"

[Not anymore master! The other monsters are also preparing to attack... Should I?](D)

"No need! Go back the stairs!"

While she waited for me next to the first step of the stairs, I backed out while still facing the slime which shined dangerously in the badly illuminated room. Unfortunately, it jumped at me again, surprising me with its stupid speed and strength, automatically sending me crashing in Decarbia's embrace.

[Master, it appears we are outside. Are you alright?](D)

We both flew through a slight film covering the stairs, which by the way, wasn't there when we entered and found ourselves next to a wooden cart. It seems we were ejected from the dungeon.

"I am. Let's take a quick look at the first floor. I am curious if it's the same thing as for the eastern dungeon regarding the cooldown."

As soon as I placed my hand on the film, a familiar notification appeared.

Alert!

Due to the first floor being conquered, a cooldown of 20 minutes is required to respawn the monsters on it.

Alert!

Unique items won't drop twice, even if the same floor is conquered multiple times!

A broad grin appeared on my face and a single word escaped my mouth.

"Grinding!"
