[That's probably a bad idea master.](Decarbia)
"Why do you think so?"
[Well... there's a monthly attack on our camp, right? What if the secondary camp receives the full brunt of the invaders, while our main forces are busy defending this one? All our efforts and the people we sent there will get cleanly wiped out. For now, until we have sufficient leeway, I think we should focus on developing our current base!](D)
[I agree as well, master!](Mia)
[I also think that it will be hard to defend without sufficient people... However, if you think about it a bit... what if the attackers level next time are up to level 25, at maximum 30? If we truly do reach 100, what use having a ten thousand attackers when only one hundred Level 100 Elves can clean them up? In my opinion, if the next wave is similar, we should focus on developing a secondary camp as early as possible.](Alexandra)
Listening to her words, which had sound logic behind them, I couldn't help but ponder. A secondary camp would increase the number of resources available and we can have them solely focus on things our camp doesn't produce and/or needs for future technological upgrades. Then, through a well-established trade route between the two camps, not only can we increase the diversity of the goods and keep the people happy, but also set up the foundations for a currency system. That will allow me to begin setting up a welfare package system, which on its own would give sufficient funds to the territory in the long run, that people will be able to start up their own business and purchase their own lands.
"The ruling system I have set up at the moment it's way too rudimentary... It might work for now because there are few people and we have a common enemy that appears hard to deal with. But if we technologically advance fast enough to easily overpower the invaders each time, the priorities and their demands will surely change. I could control them through military might or fear, however as history proved, it's stupid, narrow-minded and a really bad idea overall. It will inhibit their personalities and destroy the potential of a nation. Therefore, that’s out of the question..."
"...all in all, we truly need to step it up a bit! I think Alexandra is right about the creation a secondary camp as there are enormous benefits to reap, just from doing so. Anyway, let's put that on hold from now and check with the other available blessings."
Civilization proliferation-related blessings:
1. Inborn Talent (Passive) - new souls born in your civilization will be one Soul Tier higher than the average Soul Tier of the parents, ensuring one innate skill per tier.
Cost: 500M SP
2. Not one, not two, but three (Passive) - provides a 100% chance that a mother will bear a pregnancy of at least two children and 50% chance of at least three.
Cost: 500M SP
3. Chaotic will (Passive) - decreases the chances of infantile deaths by 50%.
Cost: 500M SP
I stopped for a second and stared wide-eyed at the third miracle category. Won't I burry in shame even Gods of Life or Love if I combine the second and the first option of the proliferation-related blessings? And besides those two, I have an extra wild-card that can further improve this cheat, don't I!?
"Mia, bring up the Influence tab!"
[Influence? Okay! Coming right up!](Mia)
Influence: 27%
It is well known that a God can influence his followers. A God of War will make his worshipers stronger, fiercer and more courageous, while a God of Life will strengthen their connection with nature, creating a balanced relationship with the environment and therefore increasing their reproduction rate, while decreasing the mortality.
As a Chaos Deity, each percentage provides a chance that a genius soul will be randomly born. The respective soul will start at LvL 3 and will take part of a category of your choosing among the following possibilities:
- Genius Scientist;
- Genius Engineer;
- Genius General;
- Genius Musician;
- Genius Prophet;
- Genius Merchant;
- Genius Writer;
- Genius Artist;
- Genius Admiral;
- Genius Adventurer;
- etc ...
Keep in mind that each said genius can only be part of one category until they reach LvL 5 in soul refinement, after which you can chose a second category for them. Upon maxing out to LvL 10, a third category will also be presented, allowing at maximum three areas of influence.
Since a synergy effect between categories exists, chose carefully! If your choices aren't suitable, the effect the genius will have on your civilization will lessen considerably!
Watching the stupid increase, I couldn't help but slightly panic. Those are Tier 3 souls, 27 out of 100. If combined with the first skill from the proliferation tab, that's going to be a Tier 4 soul that will start with a minimum of four skills and a Job specialization, which will put them at a higher level than a Great Person in the same field. Not only that, but they will have the possibility of belonging to other branches than the ones mentioned in the Great Person tab. With such a thing, my civilization will advance on fast-forward for certain.
"Haaah… This is really rough... I can now understand why they are called world blessings! With such miracles, there's no wonder how a world would suddenly improve or change monumentally just by selecting the said miracle..." - I said while sighing
[If we weren't so pressed by the current circumstances, I would've instantly suggested the first two options...](Mia)
[Mhm! A 27% chance for a child to be born as a Tier 4 soul with four innate skills... and a 50% chance for triplets at that. From one hundred couples, there's a high chance to get three hundred children! Not only that, but in six months their bodies and minds will mature enough to be considered adults. With so much manpower, we could easily defend our camps. Not to mention that these three hundred children will become elites among elites when compared with the current us.](Alexandra)
[...Let's see the remaining options before any further lamentation, shall we?](Decarbia)
With three out of four of us laughing awkwardly, I threw Mia a look and a nod, after which she brought up the fourth category.
Civilization Social - related blessings:
1. A politician's Soul (Passive) - every person in your civilization provides 1 Social Point per day.
Cost: 500M SP
2. Politic research (Active) - Promotes a regular citizen to an 'Erudite', allowing him to research a Social Reform or Policy per month. The respective policy will have its cost decreased by 75%.
You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author.
Cost: 500M SP
3. Crown the Tyrant (Active) - By selecting a leader for your world, you can select three free Social Reforms or Policies.
Cost: 500M SP
At this point, I already had two tear-streaks on my face. Was there a need to make it so tempting!?
[Master...](Mia)
"Mhm... I know..."
[Master, from what I've seen so far, these Social Policies are mini-world blessings. It won't be a bad idea to make it easier to select more of them. Especially the second and third option. If we leave them for later, they will become amazing things to have at the point where the cost for just one policy will be immense...](Decarbia)
"Mhm... I agree. But that first option would be of huge help right now in the present and the near future. 200 daily extra Culture Points income is not something to ignore. Not to mention if we suddenly bu... ‘save’ 500 more Elves. That's 700 extra daily income, besides what we earn from the dungeons..."
[...we could easily pick up more than five or so Social Policies by the time the next invasion occurs. That would allow us to balance the technological development as well as the might of our dungeon diving unit.](Alexandra)
"Mhm!"
That answer of mine felt as if it was answered through gritted teeth, due to how good each of these blessings were. Thinking back to the other two miracles he had... The other two miracles he had?
"Hmm!? That VIP discount, does it still apply I wonder? Since it’s something that was supposed to work only by interacting with the shitty Game God…"
[Master, I'll bring up the last two.](Mia)
"Huh!? Yeah, go ahead please!" - I answered a bit out of it
Civilization Research - related blessings:
1. A researcher's Soul (Passive) - every person in your civilization provides 1 Research Point per day.
Cost: 500M SP
2. Technological research (Active) - Promotes a regular citizen to a 'Researcher', allowing him to research one technology per month. The respective policy will have its cost decreased by 75%.
Cost: 500M SP
3. Era suppressor (Active) - By selecting a technological path for your world, you will be awarded three free technological researches.
Cost: 500M SP
Civilization Faith - related blessings:
1. A Priest's Soul (Passive) - every person in your civilization provides 1 Faith Point per day.
Cost: 500M SP
2. Prayer (Active) - Promotes a regular citizen to a 'Prophet', allowing him to improve one aspect of your religion per month to a certain degree.
Cost: 500M SP
3. Leading the faithful (Active) - By declaring a single faith for your entire world, you can chose three free upgrades to your current faith.
Cost: 500M SP
Nodding my head at the similarity between them, I looked at the girls with a sour expression. The reply from them was a similar bitter smile, telling me to resign myself to this chaotic fate of mine.
"Haaaaah... Then, shall we do this the 'democratic way' and vote? Each of the four people present will propose a blessing and if their proposal gets supported by two or more participants, we will go with it. The same process will happen for the second blessing as well. Questions?"
[... I have one. Is it fine to do decide on something so major, based on a vote between the four of us?](Alexandra)
[While it's true that more heads think better than fewer, the opposite is true as well. Right now, we also can't announce master's identity as the Chaos God, so we can only do it like this.](Mia)
[Makes sense...](Alexandra)
Well, it's not like I don't agree with her, however, no matter what we chose it will still be a good choice. That's why is better to go with a vote and see everyone's true thoughts. That way, we will certainly reach a conclusion... maybe... hopefully...
"Alright then! Let's start! Alexandra, you're first!"
[Eh!? Me? Can't we let big sister Mia or big sister Decarbia instead?](Alexandra)
"Nope." - I quickly shut down her attempt at fleeing
[Uuuu... I think the Weapon System blessing is the best choice!](Alexandra)
"Oh, wow! She almost had confidence when she said that..."
"Great! Mia, you're next!"
[Understood! I chose Conqueror's dominance blessing.](Mia)
"Good! Decarbia?"
[A politician's Soul !](Decarbia)
"Thank you... Interesting...
[Master, what's your proposal?](Decarbia)
"Mine? I also think the Weapon System is required for my plan to quickly boost everyone to Level 100. And also, since I plan to invade the enemy dungeon and destroy as much as possible from it, I think the second option should be the Conqueror's dominance. I would like more than anything to pick the Social Points boost, but we can't afford that in the short run..."
[It makes sense...](Decarbia) - she answered a bit downcast
"You're worried about the civilization stagnating, aren't you?"
[Is it that obvious, master?](Decarbia)
"Just a guess. But actually, you needn’t worry about such a thing happening."
[???](Decarbia)
"When comparing the current Elves with the humans back in the Tool Age for example, what's your opinion?"
[Cannot be compared!](D) - she quickly answered
"Exactly! Not only do we have less people which are more united and focused on the directions we give, but they are more talented and way smarter. How can our progress be slow? While I agree that it could be much faster, right now we need to sacrifice that advancement speed for the safety of our civilization. Don't forget that we will be invaded monthly..."
[That's true. Seems like my view of the current situation was too narrow...](Decarbia)
"Not really. In normal circumstances, I would've also picked the technological development route since it makes more sense. While having two blessings like the ones I suggested, I would rather have 10 or more from the Social Policies, which will be even better."
[Then, master wants to say that these aren't the normal conditions?](Decarbia)
Seeing her confused expression, I couldn’t help but smile bitterly and explain the situation further.
"Not even close... Not to mention the leader of my group that enjoys absolute chaos more than he should, but the situation itself is also highly unstable due to the lack of information and other variables (like my two ancestors). Given that everything could turn on its head the following second, which do you think it's safer? To have a highly developed civilization full of scholars, or to have sufficient military strength to defend oneself, irrelevant of what's thrown your way?"
[That's...](Alexandra)
[Master...](Decarbia)
[You've suffered quite a bit master, haven't you?](Mia)
"W-What's with the pity in your eyes!? I am fine, okay! Focus on the matter at hand!"
Silence took over the room once more and this time, everyone was properly thinking about the best option to go with. There were many things to consider and even the two options I wanted to pick, I started doubting they were the best choice.
“At this point I could only count on these three and logic arguments to make my decision…”
When comparing the pros and cons, I needed something to help my camp in the short run. Also, in this contest between factions, the one with the strongest fists always wins. Therefore I need to bolster my strength quickly, for which purpose I proposed the Weapon System and Conqueror's dominance. That way I can create a specialized unit to take care of both defense and attack, while focusing on developing a secondary camp. Combined with the huge amount of points I received and the Soul Upgrade blessing I already have, no matter how I twist and turn, these two are the best option to go with.
“No matter how I think about it, the two I’ve suggested are the best options I can think of for our current situation. What are your thoughts?”
