Day 0 - Little kids and red unicorns

[Hahaha! With only 200 meager Soul Tier 1 Elves you want to resist my invasion? Foolish ant playing God in a far corner of this vast universe, it is time for you to learn the immensity of Heaven and Earth! Commence invasion!](Abigor)

Warning!

Warning!

The invading army has begun its attack!

Defend your fortification and prevent the enemy from reaching their objective!

Objective for the invading army has been decided upon!

[A World Tree!? No wonder there were so many points given out! Ahahaha! Using this World Tree I can finally improve my rank in the Devil faction! However... a World Tree and a missing God...](Abigor)

At the mutterings of the invading Devil a loud sound similar to static on a radio assaulted my hearing once more.

"This feeling... Corbett!?"

[Yes, 'tis I! However, my descendant, the situation is not in your favor at all...](Corbett)

"What do you mean?"

[That low level thug Abigor might figure out that you have the Manual Mode...](Corbett)

"Would that be a problem?"

[And a major one at that! If their faction finds out this early where the Manual Mode player of the divine faction are, they will focus more artefacts and skilled members to attack you. Given your lack of experience, that would be catastrophic. On the other hand, if we can hide it for now...](Corbett)

[Why is there a need to hide? Can't we just devour the small fry?]

"Khrone too?"

[Yo kiddo! Yeah... sorry to bother you like this but, since we barely managed to find you after fuck knows how long, we would prefer to keep you alive for a tad longer.](Khrone)

[Khrone! Language! Tsk... You think we can do it?](Corbett)

[Usually it should not be possible, but with the World Tree and if we play our cards right at the opportune moment...](Khrone)

[It is our only shot at this point… Okay, let's go with that!](Corbett)

[Mhm! Let's go for it!](Khrone)

"Would you please don't ignore me and have a conversation among yourselves in my head!? What plan? What are you doing?"

[You only need to defend properly for now. Judging from the mana reaction from those monsters, they should be under the levels of your army. So even with a thousand of them, you shouldn't have a problem.](Corbett)

[You take out the trash and we'll help you grow up a bit! Hehe!](Khrone)

"Grow up?"

[Yup! It has to do with my gift for you! What do you say Corbett? Ain't I great? If I didn't give him the ability, we would be in quite the bind right now. Hahaha!](Khrone)

[Stop your needless boasting! It was only by mistake! Anyway, Michael, focus on defending and we can take care of the rest.](Corbett)

"Haaah... Okay, I guess. I'll do what I can..."

Taking a deep breath and looking upon the battle-ready Elves waiting for my command, I smiled and shook my head. What’s there to worry? Won’t this monster just become EXP for my armies?

"Everyone get in positions! Archers, focus your fire on the Imps you see gathering mana! Shoot only when in range and do not be afraid to waste ammo, however aim properly! Mages prepare long-range magic and aim it properly where there are densely packed groups! Adrian, I'm counting on you to use that as soon as I give the signal!"

[I shall bring them down sir!](Adrian)

[[[Yes, sir!!!]]]

"Mia, can your songs buff attack speed?”

[Yes! It’s called the Song of Swiftness!](Mia)

“Great! Use it on our archers first. Decarbia and Alexandra, fire big ones where they are strongly concentrated, but take note of your mana!"

[Yes, master!](Mia)

[Understood!](Alexandra)

[I will do my best, master!](Decarbia)

After getting a general idea of what sort of buffs she had, I could formulate a better plan. This… might actually be doable!

"Mia, after you buff the archers, prepare the Song of Abundance since we might need to recover the lost mana."

[Mhm!](Mia)

"Here they come!"

The horde made its way towards our camp and another notification appeared in the skies, showing the numbers '585/585'. Judging that as the overall number of the monsters in this wave, I also moved in one of the archer towers and prepared.

"If it comes to long range sniping, I won’t lose to anyone else! Imaginarium, activate! Dragunov Sniper rifle! Pandemonium, activate! Wind-attributed mana infusion!"

Imaginarium realized!

Dragunov sniper rifle V1.0 has been created!

Pandemonium successfully activated!

Wind-attributed mana infusion has been recreated!

Due to mana infusion, each bullet shot will cost 50MP!

"Tsk! 50MP it's quite a big amount even for my current mana pool... It is probably because of the weapon. Well then, let's take this baby for a ride." – I said while clicking my tongue

Looking through the scope, I couldn't help but remember the days I've spent target practicing with a World War 2 veteran. He annoyed me to death with his stories about how many headshots he achieved when he got drunk, but on the polygon, I couldn’t help but agree and see his potential as a death God.

"But thanks to him..."

Breathing in and looking at the charging enemies, I aimed at one of the Horned Demons and fired.

*BANG!*

Critical damage inflicted! -1930HP!

Your target died!

"Wao! It wasn't even a headshot..."

There was a barely audible sound from the rifle, but the wave numbers showing now '584' as well as the corpse shot through the chest proved that there was indeed a bullet that left the barrel.

"Good! Let's aim at the big ones for now. I can polish up my rusty aim at the same time also..."

Each time a bullet was shot, a Horned Demon died. Also, while I barely managed to kill six of them so far given that they were moving, the first line of defense 'activated'

The spiked pits were two meters each in width and three in depth, with steel spikes of over one meter and a half each at the bottom. When the monsters began falling inside them, both their advancement speed as well as their numbers were dwindled considerably.

"436 remaining. Archers, draw and stand ready! I will give the signal. D, prepare the lightning festival!"

[Understood!](D)

After the training, the accuracy of the Elves could be considered high only under 300 meters. Now that they were over half a kilometer away, we could only wait. However, that did not mean that Decarbia had to do the same...

[Raging Thunder God’s Festival!](D)

Like the name implies, the previously clear skies instantly darkened and lightning descended instead of the arrows. Even I had to admit that Decarbia's AOE spells were more than welcomed both in the dungeons and now in the defense, as they covered the weakness of the low numbers we had.

The numbers dropped to 380 after her skill, however the Imps finally started to move. Due to the previous spell agitating the mana of the atmosphere, they began gathering it in small pouches that were glowing like fireflies in the night.

"So that's the mana stealing technique, huh? It feels as if the mana in that area thinned after they stole it."

[Master, they will begin infusing it shortly. We should focus on...](D)

*BANG!*

Critical damage inflicted! -2503HP!

Your target died!

*BOOM!*

"Way ahead of you... Get it Mia? A-head? Since it was a headshot? Hahaha!" – I laughed under the pitying looks of Decarbia and Mia

In addition, while I might have said that lightly, I was quite shocked by the chain of explosions currently occurring in the midst of the enemy army. It seems that more than one Imp stole mana, therefore the explosion kept expanding from one corner to the other of the horde. It was truly festival-like!

By the time the dust settled...

The first wave has been defended successfully!

Congratulations to the defending side for doing so without casualties!

Awarding 1 billion Soul Points!

Congratulations to the defending side for doing so without any damage taken to the fortifications!

Awarding a one time use Racial Upgrade card as a hidden reward!

Second wave will begin shortly...

Please prepare!

My jaw dropped when I heard the notification. 1 billion! Isn't that worth another 400 beautiful elves!?

[Master, master! It is an upgrade! We can upgrade the Faerie race and unlock other sub-species like...](Mia)

"DWARVES!"

If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

[M-M-Master?](Mia)

"I.WANT.DWARVES! I.WANT.ACCESORIES!"

[M-Mhm...](Mia)

With a strengthen resolve, I stared daggers at the moronic Abigail or whatever his name was, waiting for more cannon fodder to be sent our way. The sooner we get this over with, the sooner I can get my accessories.

[So it seems my previous conjecture was right. A Manual Mode player in this shitty place is quite the unexpected haul. Ahahaha! This great one will trample on your civilization properly and steal the divine energy invested in this world. Ahahah! I can finally breakthrough the realm of the Moon Lords myself!](Abigor)

Warning!

Warning!

The second wave will start now!

Prepare your defenses!

"Tsk! Adrian, are you ready?"

[Yes sir! Just give the word!](Adrian)

"Do you have the confidence?"

[My mana should be just sufficient. Hovever, I can use it only once probably...](Adrian)

"That should be sufficient for now. Just focus on the instructions Decarbia gave you. D, guide him so that we can give that small fry in the skies a proper surprise!"

[Roger!](D)

This was the time for our own Necromancer to shine and since this Abi-girl was quite self-confident, it was the perfect time for a power move on my end.

[If quantity isn't enough, then what about quantity and higher quality? Commence invasion!](Abigor)

Warning!

Warning!

The second wave has begun!

Good luck both sides!

Through a bloating portal, once more, monsters were making their way to our camp from the trees of the forest. This time, dogs the size of ponies and actual red unicorns were attacking.

"Red unicorns!?"

[...They are called Nightmares, master. Their speed is horrendous and that horn on their heads can pierce through the highest level of armor, as well nullify a magic attack. It's a truly horrible opponent to have since it renders me quite useless...](D)

"What about the puppers?"

[...Hellhounds, master. They are extremely agile and their bites are poisonous as well. It's going to be difficult defending against such numbers...](D)

Judging from the looks of it, this time that bitch Abi-girl must've spent quite the number of Soul Points to bring out these numbers. There probably were about between three and four hundred Nightmares and over five hundred Hellhounds.

The wave notification confirmed it also...

Enemies remaining in the wave: 935/935

"Somehow, having everything I planned out work this smooth scares me... Adrian, what is the status? Are you in control?"

[Mhm! However, there were too many that exploded entirely and I am unable to bring them back... Should I use the Vortex Lance?](Adrian)

"Yup! We'll go all out for once!"

Once the army begun marching, they avoided the traps with no problems, however that was in itself a trap. By pushing Adrian's Job over level ten, his Necromancy skill reached Advanced Mastery and was now able to bring back to live corpse that still had a full body.

For the rest, we made use of the once-per-day-use skill of the Vortex Spear to force back into existence the fallen Imps and Horned Demons. Why?

[They're in position! Move now or we will lose the opportunity!](Decarbia)

"They are all yours Adrian! Take it away!"

[Understood! Minions, heed my call and wake up from your slumber! Your enemy's flesh awaits!](Adrian)

"What's with that scary chant!? Hmm? The corpses are twitching..."

Following the original plan, Adrian brought back to life the Imps, forced them to steal mana from the surroundings once more, infuse it into the corpses of the Horned Demons and then...

*BOOM!* *BOOM!* *BOOM!*

Voila! Suicide monster bombers! The results...

"Damn... These bastards wanted to use that on our wall? It would have exploded into pieces with just one of them, wouldn’t it!?"

Unerring explosions decimated the ranks of the enemy horde, making the notification look like a countdown clock that went full ADHD mode. Obviously, by the time where the fireworks show ended, Adrian passed out.

"Seems like it takes quite the toll on the user's mind to control that many bodies at once. Someone take him off the wall to rest. He did his job beautifully! Archers, get ready! The remaining ones are coming!"

[Enemies remaining: 141/935]

I could not help but smirk when I saw the mug of the Abi-girl bitch distorted by rage through my Dragonov's scope. I shook my head inwardly as I kept shooting down Nightmares. While they might have the ability to dissolve magic thrown at them, how could they if it was too fast to perceive?

After tripping on the wires and being trampled by the ones behind, the 300 meters mark was broken for the first time, even that signaled the beginning of the end for the second wave.

"FIRE!"

Almost two hundred arrows accompanied my shout, as they fell with pinpoint accuracy on the bodies of the monsters. Since not all the arrows could kill a monster, I took the job of putting the suffering monsters out of their misery with a properly placed bullet in the middle of their eyes.

After another couple of minutes...

Second wave has been defended successfully!

Congratulations to the defending side for doing so without casualties!

Awarding 2 billion Soul Points!

Congratulations to the defending side for doing so without any damage taken to the fortifications!

Awarding a one time selection of a free technology to be researched as a hidden reward!

Reward can be chosen with one tier in advance of the current Age and Era of the civilization.

Third wave will begin shortly...

Please prepare!

"There's another one!? Just how cheap were these monsters!?"

[Master, you might want to hide your teeth when you smile. It looks scary...](Mia)

"I can't help it love! Look at all the Elves and Dwarves I will be able to buy! Moreover, a free tech research as well? Even one step ahead of the current Era or Age? How can I not smile?"

On the other hand, there was someone else fuming in the skies, obviously annoyed by the cheers happening on the wall. Seeing how red his face was turning, I couldn't help but fuel the fire even more...

*BANG!*

...with a bullet from my beautiful silver Dragunov, of course. It was very effective!
