After that whole ordeal, the two humans that I'm with talked to one another while glancing at me from time to time as I just stared at them.
The long-haired one, in particular, has a nice expression, while the short haired one still seems to be wary of me.
Maybe I should give them temporary names for now until I learned their true names. It should make it easier to address them then.
So the name that I'll be giving the long-haired one would be 'Sun' while the short haired one, 'Night'.
I think its appropriate since Sun is the one that gave me a chance to feel what a pleasant warmth feels like and Night is someone that I feel would be overprotective of Sun. Like how the night hides the sun every half of the day and lets it rest.
After a few hours, they fell asleep. Though, Night only slept after 20 minutes after Sun did. She's still wary of me it looks like. These two likes to squish each other, even when they sleep.
And I guess her suspicion is right. Frankly, I'd like to taste their blood, even just a little yet for some reason, I don't have that strong of a drive to do that right now. Plus, if I did that, I don't think I would get another chance to get close to them like I just did a while ago.
Right, the only thing that's getting in the way of me tasting their blood right now is the fact that I don't have much of a drive to do it, though I do desire it. Must be because I'm still full from before.
Yeah, that must be it.
I'll just wait for a while until I'm hungry again, and then if they 'accidentally' get Injured, I'll have a taste. I won't do anything to them, of course. I feel that wouldn't be right.
At least not directly that is.
But speaking of doing something to them, their warm bodies are very inviting. They wouldn't be upset or scared if I squeezed myself in between them, right?
•••
When morning came, my warm beds woke up.
They were very surprised by what I did but they didn't get scared of me it looks like. They're just surprised. More so, Sun is talking to Night as if she's happy about something. And as always, Night is making a contorted expression while replying to her.
They're quite close.
When they noticed I was staring at them, Sun made a delighted expression and ran towards the carriage.
After a short while, she came back and she brought with her one of those clothes that they wear.
However, this one is very thick and large. It looks to be made from the skin of those boars that I saw. It's tougher than I remember and doesn't smell. There's also the fur of those wolves attached to the part where the neck would be if one wore it.
While I was thinking that, Sun made me stand up and placed the coat on me. It's very warm. I like it.
"Thank you."
I know they won't understand what I said but I should still say it.
And as I thought, they're confused to what I just said.
So this must be a culture of humans. Wearing clothes is the norm, and standing using only the legs. I might have been doing it the wrong way the whole time then.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
From now on, I'll practice walking with using only my legs.
If I get to a place with lots of humans, I need to be able to do this much or else I might get looked at as being strange.
And I think these two think of that as well. They're giggling when they saw me walking but when I looked at them, they immediately stopped. Even Sun did.
Did I do something scary again? Is my walking that scary? As I thought, walking is a major part of human culture.
Maybe this walking thing's difficulty depends on one's height. I'm apparently one and a half heads smaller than Sun and two heads smaller than Night. For some reason, this height difference makes me feel depressed.
After that, they made some preparations to leave. They poured water on the weakening flame, collected some of their belongings and dug two holes for the body of the two who died. As for me, I watched them do all that.
I also tried to drink the blood from those three bodies that I buried but their taste isn't that good anymore. They also have an added taste of dirt. As such, I buried them again.
When those two saw me doing that, they both have an awfully stiff expression and Sun, in particular, looked pale. When I looked at her, she stiffened up and smiled wryly at me.
... Seems like drinking blood from corpses in front of them would be a bad idea. From before, I just thought they're scared of me because I killed those humans but it looks like it's also because of the fact that I drink blood.
This must be the reason why the humans hunted vampires till there's only a few left.
I'll be careful of my actions in the future.

2 days have passed since then and nothing noteworthy had happened.
Currently, I'm pulling their carriage. It isn't really much of an effort for me but for them, they can't pull it even a little bit. They were troubled about what to do so I volunteered, much to Sun's refusal to the idea. But in the end, she gave up and let me do it.
Needless to say that they were shocked when they saw me being able to pull the carriage easily.
Looks like the books and papers in there are important to them.
And since then, they seem less wary of me now. Sun even engaged with a conversation with me even though I don't know their language.
I'm sure she knows that fact yet she still talks to me. What a nice human.
Although, Night still doesn't seem to trust me that whole lot. That's fine, I'm not forcing her to, and I understand why she's still suspicious of me.
I don't trust myself as well. The urge to drink their blood is steadily increasing as time pass. I really want to know what their blood taste like and there isn't any good opportunity for me to do so. I could use my fangs to drink their blood while they sleep but I'm sure that would result in them waking up and the sight of me biting their necks would cause them to panic.
Fortunately, I can still control myself. Also, we're still quite close to the cluster of trees called 'forest', which is a word I just recently learned. I also learned a few more names during these two days.
On a side note, I learned of their names in their language. Sun's name would be Lilia and Night's name is Roosevelt. Would I change the way I address them? No, I won't. And adding to things that I learned, I can now walk using only my legs and feet. Now I can completely blend in with humans.
I also learned what humans eat. They're called dried meat, bread, and water. So, the meat from those animals I've killed can also be used for sustenance if the proper preparations were done. As for the bread, it looks strange. I learned that it's made of wheat but I don't know what that is so bread is still mysterious for me.
I also tried tasting them. Honestly, the taste is really bland, it's disappointing. I'd rather drink goblin blood than this.
In our breaks, I'm hunting rabbits for their blood and I gave them what's left of it. Of course, I drink the blood somewhere they couldn't see.
To what they did with the rest of the rabbit, when nighttime comes and when they started a fire, they'll burn the body of the rabbit and eat it. I tasted it as well and it tastes like a more edible version of dirt. Definitely not going to try that again.
And as for rest, I sleep in the carriage for 4 hours in the afternoon while they sleep 3 hours before midnight for 7 hours or so while I continue to move the carriage. In between those times, we either eat or continue walking.
That's basically how our days went.
Anyway.
I didn't expect that we'll find plain land in just a few hours when we departed. Actually, I didn't expect that plain land even existed. I thought this world is covered in trees.
And in this plain land, there's this human-made path called 'road'. It's meant to be used by 'vehicles' like carriages. Although, I'm a bit disappointed to know that carriages needed something to pull them.
As for where we're going, I don't know. I'm just following them. They must be headed to a place filled with humans. I think they understood as well that I want to come with them.
Anyway, the plains are really fascinating. Since there aren't any trees to obstruct my vision, I could see more of the world.
I learned a bunch of things when I got here as well. The mountains that I could hardly see, is now in full view here and I could see how the birds could fly so up high. It really makes you envious.
After an hour of walking, I noticed something.
The scent of a human. Multiple of them and I reckon they're all male. There rising behind the thick cluster of plants and grass, just behind the trees to our right.
I wonder what they're doing there. For now, I think I should warn them.
Stopping the carriage at the side of the road, I pulled on the sleeves of the two and pointed to the direction where I sensed the humans. Night looked at me dubiously but Sun seems to get what I want them to tell. At least I hope so.
Whether they think it's an animal or a human, I don't know. I'd rather have them be alert. If it's something dangerous, then I don't want them to die.
If they're going to die, then they should do it after I've tasted their blood.
Now that I think about it, wouldn't this be a perfect opportunity for them to get wounded without me doing it and risk losing their trust and have them return to being afraid of me again?
A good idea if I do say so myself!
Of course, if it gets dangerous, I'll step in and help. I'll just make a scenario for myself that would excuse of not being able to help them immediately.
But this plan would only happen if the humans hiding intended to do harm in part with their culture, like those 4 before.
As for the two, after talking for a bit, they decided that Sun should stay in the carriage while Night takes out a sword and placed and attached the scabbard on the belt around her waist. Night also locked the carriage door for added protection for Sun.
How overprotective of her.
She gestured at me to continue moving. And just a few moments when we started, several human males wearing both metal and leather garments appeared from the thickets.
Now for my little scheme to play out.
