Oh shit shit shit- I was too distracted by my existential crisis to realize that a bunch of squirrel like creatures had me surrounded, not something I would normally panic over, but… they all seem to be looking at me, almost drooling. Remember when I said I could take any insects? Well squirrels are kinda more dangerous than those.
I tried flying away immediately after noticing the current situation, but I then narrowly avoided some weird gooey nuts they threw at me, and the worst is that they stuck to the branches they hit, so if I take one of those it’s game over. When the second wave was thrown I dodged them and used [Thread manipulation] to latch onto one and throw it back at the nearest… actually, let me use appraisal real quick. They’re called "Lirels", anyway, I threw back the nut at the nearest Lirel. I hit it square in the face! Once it was blinded, I didn’t wait for the others to react, I used [Spike launch] on its stomach, while it didn’t pierce like I hoped it would, it still created an opening for me to use [Poisonous bite] on the wound.

While it didn’t kill it, it still incapacitated it for a while, so I went for my next target, using [Spike launch] then using [Thread manipulation] on it, while the Lirel dodged the spike, all I had to do was fly around it to tie it up, then incapacitate it the same way I did the other.
I used variations of the same technique on the others until I was the only one left standing, exhausted, but still alive.
That’s when It arrived.
The alpha Lirel. While it might seem weird to think much of it, it was way bigger than the others, its colour was more purple than the dark blue of the others, the aura it had was of another league. I was outmatched, tired, and if I took too long, outnumbered. I didn’t have time to use [Appraisal] to see its stats that it lunged at me.
I was forced to use this skill for the first time in this life.
I used {Glare of the moon}.
