My days would go on like this: I wake up, I get trained, I scavenge the cage for what little food I could find, I eat and I sleep. This went on for about a week. Until one time, the announcement also said:
NOTICE, THE REQUIRED LEVEL FOR EVOLUTION HAS BEEN REACHED. PLEASE CONSIDER CHOOSING AN EVOLUTION PATH.
I want to see what I can evolve into! Anything but that stupid worm form!
.
My only choices are another worm or a butterfly.
Now I have a question.
Am I in a farm? Like, am I in a factory of some kind? If I remember correctly, caterpillars envelope themselves in silk before becoming butterflies, right? And the only other living beings in here are silk spiders, food plants and silk plants… Why am I starting to see a pattern… I… have a bad feeling about the butterfly one…
Fine, I’ll evolve into the "Silk Onipillar".
As soon as that thought crossed my mind, the system reacted:
NOTICE, THE INDIVIDUAL KNOWN AS VANIA IS GOING TO EVOLVE FROM A ONIPILLAR TO A SILK ONIPILLAR.
I then felt extremely sleepy, which could’ve been attributed to the fact that it was almost daytime. When I woke up the following night, the system told me that my evolution was successful, which ment that a bunch of my skills got their level raised by one or two. My [Bite lv5] skill evolved into [Poisonous bite] and I gained the [Silk manipulation] skill. I didn’t physically change. I also noticed that [Local knowledge] was level 6, which ment that I was able to see the names and some information about everything in my cage… I still wasn’t able to see my stats though.

When the time for the usual training came about, I was the only one present. Another anomaly I noticed was that the silk spider… Wasn’t injured.
It was me, against a Silk spider at full capacity.
If my guess about the silk farm was right, since I didn’t evolve into a butterfly, they’re trying to get rid of me.
Not that I cared.
I started by sending silk on the roof to attach me to it and gain altitude. When I felt like the moment was right, I latched onto it with my poisonous fangs. It was struggling and threw me away fairly easily, but I made more silk and managed to maneuver myself around in a way that made me able to get back onto it. This time I learned my lesson and attached myself to it using silk. After a while, my poison was able to get the best of it. I then obviously ate it all, because a week of time was enough for me to learn that I was omnivorous. When I finished, I heard a familiar voice:
NOTICE, THE CONDITIONS HAVE BEEN MET, THE FORCED EVOLUTION FROM A SILK ONIPILLAR TO A SPIKOPILLAR HAS BEGUN
I… accidentally triggered an evolution… I really should read the evolution tree to avoid that in the future.
Unlike last time, I didn’t fall asleep. No, this time, I had to fully endure the pain that I was experiencing from growing new bones, or whatever.
After what felt like an eternity of suffering, the system finally told me that the evolution was successful. I gained the [Spike launch] skill and all my skills went up a level. I now looked like before but a bit bigger, my horns were spikier and the most notable change being the spikes on my segments, one on top and one on each side of each segment except the head.
Not long after, the "Forest elves" (that didn’t look like how they were depicted back in my world) came back in the room, and when they saw a spikopillar instead of a silk spider, they were fairly shocked. I think it was the first time something like that happened, since they appeared to not know what to do. One of them got out of the room and came back a few minutes later with a figure I never saw before (probably the boss). It was a "High forest elf", it looked very similar to the others, but taller, with golden eyes, darker skin and the tip of their hair had a golden hue. All in all, it looked more majestic. It picked me up and put me in a larger and more luxurious cage… probably previously belonging to the spider I killed. To my delight, there didn’t seem to have any other silk spiders (or predators) in the cage.
