Two cultivators stood apart from one another on a simple dirt rectangle surrounded by stands on all sides. On one side of the arena sat a young man, he was almost identical to the one of the even younger cultivators in the arena. They were the only two people here not to have pitch black hair, and they were two out of the three people without black eyes. They were the only two if you didn't happen to count 'black with the occasional spark' a different color than just black. So their sky blue coloring really stood out, they were used to it though, on the account of this being the same in their own sect, the only one besides them having blue hair being their mother.

Both of the young brothers weren't that well-built, a side effect of their dao. However, one could only say that they aren't 'well-built' when referring to body cultivators or athletes. They were fit, but not jacked. The younger brother had more clearly defined muscles, however, even he only looked like he went to the gym semi-regularly and watched what he ate. When compared to a body cultivator, they looked downright weak. Body cultivators were usually either man mountains like Xiang or people who look like they're training to be a swimmer in the Olympics. Fang Hu was in the latter category, but neither one of them thought anything of it, in this world, even if you were to ask a mortal who looked stronger, you'd be laughed at. In a world of qi, the only way to tell who is strongest is with qi. Well, there's mana, but they don't use that here, it'd be like saying 'In a world of qi, the only way to tell who is strongest is with detailed examinations with advanced equipment.'

Song Guanyu stared his opponent down. He wasn't intimidated by his wiry muscles or his decent quality clothes. He was almost as intimidated by those as he was by Fang Hu's hairstyle. That is to say, not at all, it's not like there is anything particularly intimidating about a man having a full length pony-tail, right? Ok, maybe in his old world, but not in this one. Guanyu continued to idly wonder about their appearances, he wasn't a spaz, like Fang Hu, no, he was just relaxed. He looked to the two disciples of the lone cultivator. They looked almost exactly like mortals. The only thing giving them away was how clean their short haircuts and clothes were, their robes looking much less threadbare than normal around here, and the occasional bit of qi they gave off. The only other things that gave them off were how young the old man looked, and the little lady's bloodline.

Song Guanyu was bouncing on the heels of his feet when he noticed his opponent had dropped into a stance. At first Guanyu was confused and slightly disappointed, for his stance was full of openings, that was until he watched longer than a second. As he watched, Fang Hu's body seemed to sway in place, the scholar's body never moved, but before Guanyu's eyes, the openings in his opponent's stance shifted. Like flowing water, no, if his status was correct, like the slithering of a snake, Fang Hu continuously changed his guard. It was very minute, Fang Hu would slightly shift qi within his body and Guanyu's instincts would tell him to take a different approach. In the space of a second Fang Hu's defense shifted more than 12 times. Guanyu smiled to himself, his instincts were true, this would be a fun fight.

"Before we fight, do you have anything to ask? If you think knowing anything will help, I'll gladly answer you. I need to give you a handicap right?"

Upon hearing his offer, Fang Hu paused to think for a second. Eventually, the scholar settled on asking the most burning question in his mind.

"If I might be so bold, I would like to inquire if your carpets are similar to your drapes."

Three of the people here didn't know why he would ask that, what does their house have to do with fighting anyway? Only two knew what one was talking about. The one that asked obviously thought it was funny, but was genuinely curious. The last person didn't deign the question worthy of response.

"Mmh. Alright, if you have no questions, then let's begin!"

Song Guanyu's body flashed with qi, before vanishing altogether.
