Fang Hu was currently sitting in a tepee of sorts on the shore of the lake in Oasis Basin. The chieftain was apparently impressed by how Hu was able to appraise his strength in a glance and understand that fighting was a lost cause. Well, maybe Wo-Kong was just tickled at how fast and dramatically Fang Hu bowed to him. It was quite a spectacle. Something one would not expect from a strong cultivator with clear training in at least one martial art. Most youth his age would not back down from even the slightest of disgraces.
This calmed the chief considerably, as this young lad wasn't likely to kill for little to no reason. After assuring the youth that he and his tribe meant no harm to his person, they exchanged greetings properly. Much to his surprise, this wasn't some young master of a rival clan, or a prodigy, seeking to test his mettle against his warriors. This cultivator seemed to be as strong as his strongest warriors, yet claimed himself as an ex low-level member of a scholarly sect, sent out into exile for angering the wrong young master. Stating himself as being lucky to survive, believing having been sent into the 'Wonton Fields' as punishment a miracle. That, was all the proof Wo-Kong needed to ascertain the truth of Hu's statements. Only outsiders would ever call Verdant Plains with such a dreary name. Deciding not to correct him, Wo-Kong invited Fang Hu into his quarters, for a proposition.
This was all well and good for Fang Hu. He finally quenched his thirst, found people to talk to, and wouldn't have to rely on reading the glossary for entertainment, he swore to find more to do after spending hours staring at everything he could think of to unlock more glossary entries. One thing was bothering him though...
"I hope you find our humble camp towards your liking. We don't get many guests 'round these parts."
*Oh, it's not a fucking problem at all, fam.*

"No, please, I find your abode most enjoyable."
In Fang Hu's mind, It had to be the system influencing him. It never told him it would do this specifically, but having his 'body changed to back your story' sounded like a prime suspect for this to happen. It served as a persistent reminder to not trifle with the system. This was a correct sentiment, for what if Hu had chosen to explain away his presence in this place as him making a stupid mistake, and the system made him even *more* of an idiot?
'I feel like someone insulted me, even though no one said anything. ... Odd.'
"Now, I hope you don't mind me asking ye of a favor. I think you could help me in an endeavor to brighten the mood 'round here."
*Of course, I wouldn't mind helping out, old man. Mind you, I'd only do it if it's not too troubling. I like repaying my debts, but hate people trying to take advantage of me.*
"It is only right for me to grant you a boon in return for allowing me to persist alongside your tribe, but allow me to warn you, Chieftain Wo-Kong, if you ask for too great a favor, you may not receive one at all."
"Please, yer a guest here. It'd be unbecoming of our tribe to put you under strain. If anything, you don't have to talk so formally. It might put some of us off."
*They'll just have to get fucking used to it, I literally can't control it. Anyway... What do you want me to do, exactly?*
"I hope they do not become too 'put off'. This is just how I speak. But enough of me, what is this boon you seek?
"Oh, it's nothing much. I'd imagine you'd even get some fun outta it all. I'd like ya to host a little tourney to show the clan whatcha got."
And here is where we leave our hero, at least for now, yelling in his mind about mindless violence in cultivation worlds. What will our hero do? Will he chicken out, like the pacifistic little bitch he is? Our will he kick some cultivation world hillbilly ass? Next time, on A Mediocre Supreme Cultivator!
