Chapter 79 - Back to the Sitri's mansion

Three days later, Thomas found himself thinking of finally visiting the underworld since he was done visiting his roommates and friends, and while he would have loved to visit Harry or Ron, both boys apologized telling him that they are busy, Ron being away with his family, and Harry having something to do with his uncle and aunt.

With his roommates and other friends occupied or already visiting, he figured it would be a good time to catch up with Latia. So he reached for his phone and dialed her number, hoping to visit her today or tomorrow.

To his surprise, it wasn't Latia who answered the call but Lilith.

"Hello, Aunty Lilith! How have you and Uncle Leif been? "

"Hi, Thomas! We are doing fine, thank you. And yourself?"

"I'm doing great, I just came home not too long ago from visiting my friends from Hogwarts and I actually wanted to check on Latia. How is she doing?"

"About that, Thomas… I'm sorry to tell you this but Latia is currently busy with her preparations for the middle-class test. It's an important exam for devils to advance their rank on paper."

"Oh, that's a bummer, though it sounds like a big deal. Aunty, tell her that I wish her the best of luck with the test."

"Thank you for your kind words, Thomas. I'm pretty sure that if my daughter wouldn't have been distracted by you, she would have forced you to study with her and because of that, I'm confident she'll do well."

"Please let her know that I'm rooting for her."

"I'm sure she'll appreciate your support. Well, Thomas, I'm sorry for not being able to help you here, but please call more often."

"I'll do that Aunty. And once again it was nice to hear you guys are doing alright."

After ending the call, Thomas laid back on his bed, feeling quite bored with so much free time on hand. As he stared at the ceiling, a sudden thought struck him. He recalled another pair of devil's sisters he knew – Serafall and her sister, along with Sona's queen, Tsubaki. Maybe it would be a good idea to contact Serafall and tell her that he wants to visit, but then again if the Ministry ever hears of this, Thomas could only wonder what tantrum will they throw in response.

So after he changed his clothes into something better since he knew that Serafall will just teleport into his room, he decided to contact her using the magic circle she told him to use.

As soon as Thomas finished drawing the magic circle on the floor, a larger and more elaborate one suddenly appeared in his room. Before he could even react, a figure emerged from the magical portal, causing him to blink in surprise.

"Tommy!" Serafall exclaimed, feeling so excited to see Thomas again that she wasted no time in wrapping her arms around him, burying his head in her ample bosom as they both tumbled onto his bed. Giggles escaped her lips as she held him tightly, clearly overjoyed to have been summoned by Thomas.

"Tommy, Tommy, I can't believe you called for me! It's been too long since we last saw each other. You know, I was just thinking about you recently, and then poof! Here I am! It's like fate brought us together again!"

Thomas was slightly caught off guard by her enthusiastic response, but he couldn't help but smile. So he returned the hug, making Satan giggle even more. "Levi-tan, it's great to see you too. I missed you too."

"Oh, Tommy, my So-tan is no longer letting her big sister hug her! S-she's mean to me." Serafall then buried her head on Thomas's chest faking her cry as she poured out her frustration about her little sister that was no longer letting her play with her.

A few minutes later after Serafall, calmed down and finished crying aloud about her sister, she finally asked Thomas why he has called her, not that she minded, but she was curious.

"Well about that… I was bored and I kind of wanted to visit the underworld this summer."

Serafall's eyes lit up with excitement. "Oh, Tommy, that sounds like so much fun! We can explore the capital together. I'm sure my sister and Tsubaki would love to see you as well. Especially Tsubaki who's always asking about you."

This time Thomas was confused since he didn't recall doing anything that would make this girl interested in him. While they had talked a few times and she showed him some fighting techniques that weren't secret, Thomas didn't remember interacting with her in any other way that would have made her so interesting in him.

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

Serafall noticed the confusion on Thomas' face and realized that she might have teased him a bit too much. She decided it was time to clear things up and put his mind at ease.

"Alright, Tommy, I'll stop teasing you. The truth is, Tsubaki heard from me that you've recovered and she got really excited. She's been looking forward to sparring against you ever since the two of you talked about those things," Serafall explained with a warm smile.

"Oh, I see. So Tsubaki is interested in training with me. That's really kind of her. I didn't realize she was so excited about it."

Serafall let out a playful, fake laugh before admitting, "Well, Tommy, I may or may not have exaggerated a bit when boasting about your skills to So-tan and Tsubaki. I might have told them that you were one of the best swordsmen and wizards of their age and that you've accomplished amazing feats. You know, just a little embellishment."

Thomas face palmed himself, not knowing how he should react to this or if she should be angry or not, but seeing her innocent-looking face, he could only sigh. "Sera, why would you do that? Now they probably have these inflated expectations of me. I'm just an average guy who's trying his best."

Serafall's eyes went wide open when she heard Thomas call her "Sera" instead of her nickname. She froze for a moment, her cheeks turning a shade of pink. Then, she burst into giggles, looking happier than if her own sister had hugged her.

"Oh, Tommy! You called me Sera! That's so sweet!" She clapped her hands in delight, "No one ever calls me that! You're the only one!"

Thomas couldn't help but smile at her reaction. He had unintentionally stumbled upon something that made this Satan happy. In response to her words, he chuckled softly. "Well, Sera, I'm glad it made you happy. It seems like a small thing, but if it brings a smile to your face, then I'm glad I could do that."

"That's decided then. Tommy, Tommy when do you want to go to the underworld?"

"Well, now?"

Before Thomas could react, Serafall took his hand and both of them disappeared under a magic circle. The next moment, Thomas found himself outside of the Sitri mansion in the same place he had left with Serafall a few months ago. Luckily for him, there was no one outside to see him together with Serafall otherwise, God knows what kind of rumors might appear. Though he doubts devils would dare to talk badly about Satan, some people were definitely going to talk behind her back and for Thomas, that wasn't exactly a good thing since he considers Serafall a friend.

Nevertheless, Serafall dragged him inside the mansion, and almost as soon as both walked inside a pair of guards looked at them in shock, not expecting to see Serafall walking through the main entrance with a boy, the same familiar boy that had rested in the mansion almost two months ago. But like the good men they were, they just saluted as Thomas and Serafall walked further down the hallway, but not before Thomas nodded at them with a smile on his face.

Two minutes later, Serafall brought Thomas to the living room, telling him to wait there as she went upstairs to find her "So-tan". As Thomas sat on one of the most comfortable couches he had ever sat on, he couldn't help but look around the room and how extravagant everything looked.

Just as he was getting comfortable, the double doors of the living room swung open, and Tsubaki and Selene walked in. Both of them looked surprised to see Thomas sitting there, but they quickly composed themselves.

Tsubaki's eyes lit up with excitement when she saw Thomas, thinking that he had come to spar with her as they had discussed before. However, she quickly reminded herself of the proper etiquette taught to her by Selene. With a polite smile, she greeted Thomas. "Good day, Thomas. It's a pleasure to see you here."

Selene on the other hand was curious to hear why Thomas come here, not that she minded, but considering the way he came last time, she was worried that something might have happened to him. "Welcome, Tom. I didn't expect to see you here, did something happen to you ?"

Thomas stood up from the couch, trying his best to do a proper small bow to both Tsubaki and Selene, something that he had read nobility did in the past.

Thomas straightened up from his bow and met Selene's gaze with a warm smile. "Thank you for the warm welcome, and you don't have to worry, nothing bad has happened to me. I just wanted to visit and for that to happen I had to contact Sera."

"I'm glad to hear that you're alright, Tom. You are always welcome here in our home. So where is my daughter?"

"Most likely, ma'am, she's bothering her younger sister."

"I swear to… sometimes I wonder who amongst my two daughters is the young one. I'm sorry Tom, but I can't stay here and keep you company since my husband is doing some business and that leaves everything else on my back. Tsubaki, please be a dear and keep Tom company until my daughters make their way down here."

After Selene excused herself, Tsubaki and Thomas were left alone in the living room. Tsubaki took a seat beside Thomas and smiled at him. "So, Thomas, how have you been?"

Thomas returned her smile, before answering her question. "I've been doing well, Tsubaki. Hogwarts was quite an experience and recently, I've been training more diligently as a swordsman well. How about you? Did you and Sona do something interesting in the past months or so?"

"No exactly. Other than Sona-sama and Rias-sama playing chess from time to time and me talking with Akeno, who is Rias Gremory's Queen, we didn't do anything else. As for my training, I've been practicing diligently, honing my skills in both magic and combat. But, I have to admit, I'm particularly eager to spar with you. Serafall has told me so much about your abilities, and I'm curious to see firsthand what you're capable of."

Thomas shifted slightly in his seat, feeling a tad embarrassed by Tsubaki's mention of Serafall's praises. Serafall did tell him that she boasted about him to Tsubaki and Sona, and now he couldn't help but wonder what exactly she had told them. However, if worse comes true, he will have to bite the bullet and hold his ground against Tsubaki.

"Well, about that. I don't exactly know what Sera have told you and Sona, but I'm pretty sure I'm not as awesome as she made me look. I'm just your average eleven years old boy. Though if you want, we can spar and see for yourself if I'm as Sera made me look."

Tsubaki's smile widened, and her eyes got instantly filled with excitement. "I have no doubt that you'll do great, Thomas. Follow me, we'll spar outside in the training field."
