While Thomas was crying, Mars stood dumbfounded and stare at the boy, not understanding why the little humanlet was crying? Wasn't death a normal occurrence for humans as well? Besides, wasn't he a wand lover? Was he the great Mars wrong?
Fortunately, for the cobra, after a few minutes of crying, Thomas calmed himself down somehow before turning his attention back to the rather old book. Even though he was scared and sad, Thomas decided to take a look at the book and maybe, he had stumbled upon a long-lost treasure that would help him heal his mother and father. When he read the name of the book, a strange feeling raise inside of him as if something was calling out from within. On the front of the book the words "The interesting yet ugly side of the magic arts, written by Brother Aurelius" was what Thomas read, making the boy excited, especially when he saw the words magic arts. Despite being only seven years old, Thomas had already learned how to read, and because he hoped that reading this book wouldn't be all that hard to read, judging by the title, that might not be the case.
'Why does my chest hurt?' Thomas thought in fear as he traced the title with his fingers as his heart felt as if he had just run a marathon.
"Oi, humanlet what are you doing? Open the book, I want to look inside!"
Startled by the sudden voice, Thomas glanced down at his chest, only to see an angry-looking cobra ready to tear him anew for standing there like a dumb idiot. Not wanting to aggravate his new acquaintance, Thomas did as he was told, but just as he tried to open the book, he stopped thinking once more about opening the book.
'Could this book change my life or help me save mommy? What if it would make mommy and daddy hate me?'
It took him a few seconds of pondering before he finally made his choice.
"No! I will not let my mistake make mommy and daddy sad."
Thomas muttered as he put his fingers at the edge of the cover, not even flinching when the book somehow made a small cut on his fingers, big enough for some blood to get on the book before the wound healed as if it wasn't even there.
"That's the spirit, humanlet!"
"I might be scared, but I don't want to hurt any more parents. "
"Sure, sure. You'll be a fool to pass this chance so for the love of me open the bloody book!"
Without hesitation, Thomas opened it. Even as he felt his eyes widening at what he was reading in the short introduction, Thomas would have never thought that such a book would be left in a library in London where anyone could find it. The first few words made the boy gasp in shock as he continue to read more and more about the short description of the book.

[Greetings and salutations boy or girl or maybe both. As you already know thanks to my well-written title, I'm Brother Aurelius, an exorcist that was in the service of the church when the Great War between the biblical factions took place down on this very Earth. Maybe you know or if you don't, you don't have to worry, because I would explain to you a few things about this Great Biblical War. I'll keep the description short since I'm more than certain that the Pope or whoever is your days leading the Church would like for someone new, I hope you are new to this world and would learn the truth. The Three Factions of Angels, Devils and Fallen Angels start a war against one another under the leadership of the Biblical God, the Four Great Satans, and the Fallen Angel organization: Grigori, led by Azazel, in a conflict which came to be known as the Great War.
The war took way too many lives, but in the end, no one won. When it finally ended, a fragile peace, yet one that I hope saved thousands or hundreds of thousands of lives was signed. Because of that peace, no large conflicts started, but like always some brainless idiot wanted to get something or become something and that brings us to why I left behind this journal. Most of the people that are part of the magical community in The United Kingdom would be either wizards or witches, maybe even part of the royal guard or in some rare instances part of the Church. So because of that I left in this book most of the spells you wizards and witches usually use, as well as some of the arts used by me, and while I'm more than sure that the Church and the Wizard community would find those spells and arts heretical or evil, I can assure you that the spells won't make you evil, that's your job and no bloody spell can make a man a demon.
Chances are that you will end up in that bloody racist castle and due to how those snobs love to teach young wizards and witches, I'm more than sure that the first spell you will learn will be the levitation one. Therefore, from now onwards, each and every page of this journal would have a spell or magic art alongside some useful tips on how to master them easier, since I doubt anyone would bother to teach young children that aren't part of a prestigious wizard family.]
The more Thomas and Mars read the more both the boy and cobra realized just how much effort this exorcist put into making this book, just in case someone like Thomas finds this book or in the worst case the whole magical community and church gets destroyed by some faction. Moreover, as the kept turning page after page, he realized that this book wasn't only at the beginning level. Not even, close, as it was more of an introduction to numerous schools, but for some reason, there was little to no mention of people able to communicate with animals as he does.
There were several different spells and schools mentioned in the book that made the boy excited, but one particular entire section gained his entire attention. The way of a healer and the way of a summoner were the schools that made Thomas excited more than anything he read. His interest was caught as soon as he read that there was a way to call forth the spirit of the dead or even a creature from beyond, but more important than those summoner spells was the sheer number of spells and potions that would heal a person from almost any curse, injury or god forbid terminal disease. With those spells, he would be able to heal his mother and hope that she would forgive him for what he had done at the Zoo.
