A massive cathedral stood in front of us but no one charged inside as all of us spent lots of our mana and stamina. Everything was covered in eerie silence as we rested. We had lots of time as most of the enemies forces was already defeated, and the whole cathedral was surrounded by detection wards, preventing anyone from sneaking out and escaping.
"I can't believe that after this, we will finally rise to the top of a reformed society of this city." Excited Rose came to my side and sat on the roof's edge right next to me.
I looked with envy at her clean clothes, which remained protected by a barrier from any damage and dirt. "Do not underestimate enemies, I did it, and I almost died. Who knows what trump cards are they hiding inside of a cathedral and lords castle."
"You are right, but... we are so close."
"Yes, we are, now let me think there is something I need to think about."
She looked at me and opened her mouth, wanting to say something, only to close them again.
'Time to evolve my spells. It is so nice that free proficiency for fire spells worked even for a spell of the higher elements made of fire. Let's start with my [Death-Infused Plasmabomb].'
Spell Evolution
Current evolutions for [Death-Infused Plasmabomb] and its variants:
[Death-Infused Shrapnel Plasmabomb]
Fires a projectile of death-infused plasma which explodes on the impact. From a centre of an explosion, smaller projectiles with 15% of original power will be fired in all directions. A number of projectiles scale with a proficiency of a spell.
[Focused Death-Infused Plasmabomb]
Focuses destructive effect of the explosion into a smaller area. Decreasing the area of effect by 50% while also increasing its damage by 30%.
[Enhanced Death-Infused Plasmabomb]
Increases damage scaling and mana effectivity.
'So my options are improvement against a single target, improvement against multiple targets or just a general improvement. Shrapnel one isn't something I need now, as it would make it even harder to use on a small range. So that is one option out. Honestly, I don't know both focused one and enhanced one are good.' In frustration about hard choice, I punched my head with my hand before returning to my problem. 'Huh, let's take a Focused one as it would allow me to use it on a closer range and decrease collater damage when I do not want to. '

I confirmed my selection and opened the evolution menu from another spell.
Current evolutions for [Destruction Beam] and its variants:
[Expanding Destruction Beam]
Fires a beam of destruction which is thin and concentrated at the beginning. With a distance, its width will increase and its damage will decrease.
[Bending Destruction Beam]
Fires a beam of destruction which can bend and change a trajectory. The number of bends depends on spell proficiency level. Damage will decrease with each bend, this damage decrease will grow small with a proficiency level.
[Enhanced Destruction Beam]
Increases damage scaling and mana effectivity.
'I think this a pretty obvious. That bending option is pretty cool. I can already imagine plenty of tricks that I could use it for. For example, I could fire it on the enemy. He would think that he dodged, and then bam, he will be hit from behind. Or maybe bend it three times to create a protective square around me. Yeah, l will take it. Wait for a second. There is no third spell to evolve. How could I make such a mistake? To think that I had a tree spells to evolve... Not a big problem.'
I got out of my mind to focus on what was happening around me. A portion of darks vigilantly kept guard as they stood to watch for threats from a cathedral or from the city itself. The rest of them were sitting and resting. Some of them even meditated to clear their mind and regenerate mana faster. Meanwhile, the undead created a rotting wall of flesh and bones from themself, blocking all streets leading towards a cathedral. Rose was still sitting next to me. I would even bet that she was closer than before. She was holding bread and a piece of grilled meat that she was slowly eating.
I stood up and summoned a little bit of water over my head. Water poured on me, washing away any dirt from me, before continuing down from the roof.
'I think this is enough,' I thought before casting a dry on me. My armour had already started to repair itself, so It looked almost as new.
"What about a city lord? How strong are his knights?" I asked Rose.
She looked likes she was thinking for a few moments before answering, "They are strong, but they are still weaker than the elite force of a local church. You know, the church summoned reinforcement to deal with us. Meanwhile, the city lord was always incompetent. He spent most of his time stuffing his huge belly with money recollected from a citizen. He didn't really care bout administration as long as he got taxed. And you don't need a super-strong army to rule over a bunch of low-level commoners. I am sure that he already either fled from the city or hid somewhere in a basement under his castle."
The Voice of a Darks leader came towards us and interrupted our conversation. "Lets's go. We still have a job to do."
I jumped down from the roof, and Rose followed me. All of the hooded figures started to regroup, forming an attacking force. We were ready to storm and cathedral to take our acts of revenge. I walked directly in front of a cathedral gate. It was a massive gate made out of a shiny metal engraved with imagery of humanoids with a shining eye fighting against monstrosities with horns. I poured mana into my staff, preparing to destroy that gate.
