Belle sips her tea not knowing what to make of what she just witnessed. "I have come to seek the knowledge and name recognition of your guild".

“Bold are we" replies Claire. "Good I like your spunk kid." Claire snaps her fingers and three bowls appear on the table in a puff of smoke.

"Which of my bowls here has a magic item in it, if you guess correctly then ill fetch the paperwork"

Belle starts to focus on each bowl but isn't sensing anything in any of them. She is about to call Claire out on her rigged game when she notices a bowl on that cart that wasn't there before. she speaks on it. "that one on the cart.”

it is seething with arcane energy".

Claire snaps her fingers again all the bowls levitate. there under the bowl, Belle claimed was indeed a magical item. It is a wand it looks to be in the shape of cannon with tree branches wrapping around the barrel. it begins to float toward Belle and falls into her hands.

"What this Claire?" says Belle.

" a wand silly. one of your very own congrats you passed. I can't have one of mine using a twig they found on the road. like you said name recognition. You represent me now you need to look the part."

Belle sits and continues to visit with Claire for another hour or so before realizing she is late reuniting with Zack.

She arrives on scene in the square, sweating a bit from the run over. She spots Zack and waves him down.

The two find a near by food stand serving these delicious salty noodles. They catch each other up with their introduction into their new guilds.

Now, with that out of the way, the two young aspiring adventurers continue their training over the next few days refining their skills to prepare them for the job ahead.

three days later they reconvene with Guntar in the plaza.

“there's the little Denys's how did it go?"

Belle looks to him "Claire is unrelenting but is insanely talented."

Zack approaches almost glowing and grinning from ear to ear. " father jack is an inspiring man with such devotion and so well-versed I'm ready for anything."

guntar nods and points to a group of people near a tunnel up ahead " good to hear lad our employers are here, let's go say hello."

Belle, zack, and guntar all walk over and introduce themselves. One after the other.

the bigger of the three said in reply. "We will remember your names if you survive meat shields.”

They start to walk in.

"well aren't they friendly" Belle snorts.

as they walk down the tunnel the miners let them take the lead before it gets too narrow. The tunnel narrows down to about 5 feet wide and 6 feet tall.

As they continue downward, it starts to become darker. Zack who is taking the lead position hears scraping and scurrying across the ceiling up ahead.

they are about to enter a wider part of the tunnel that expands into an open space with crystals protruding from the wall.

"those must be the ore deposits" guntar whispers.

As they go in they are distracted by the glowing ore.

Suddenly, something leaps from the ceiling crashing onto Zack and knocking him down he holds it back with his sword, as this lizard about the same size as him is trying to bite at his head.

Belle lets out a shriek in panic. two others start to crawl from the walls toward Zack. as belle freezes up guntar races over to aid Zack, he pulls out his banjo and begins to chant while strumming it.

"feel the force of my strum, the power of the storm thunderous drum!"

from his instrument sparks start to fly out of it. a blinding yellow light and a deafening boom explodes hurling the two other geckos to the wall. this creates a distraction so Zack can overpower the gecko. he gets it off of him and swings his sword at it to gain some distance.

he then holds the pendant he received from Father Jack and starts to mumble something, his sword then starts to radiate yellow light. the two other geckos get up and shake themselves off.

guntar has grabbed both of their attention. they hiss, and from their tails, they whip them to the side and release projectile ore shards from it.

Belle points her new wand in front of guntar. "shield" she yells.

Before him, a shield of arcane energy appears and blocks the shards.

Zack meanwhile is facing down with the gecko. it stretches out its tongue latching onto Zack's arm and slicing him in the process. he slashes with his sword cutting off the tip. the light from the blade travel's down. the tongue burning the gecko, it thralls in pain from it.

guntar pulls his rapier from his hip and engages with one of the geckos to draw its attention.

Meanwhile finishes the gecko, and snaps his head when he hears a shriek of pain. he looks up and Belle is standing there bleeding from the gut one of the geckos launched its tail shard and it is pushed through her.....
