CH 35-0: Crazen Might

With a swift twist of my body, I extended my stretchable ears once again, this time using them as makeshift grappling hooks.

The ends of my ears wrapped around crystals and branches jutting out from the UvoSath trees, allowing me to anchor to them just moments before impact. My grasp upon the trees caused them to tilt, but luckily they endured as I dangled precariously, my fluffy form swinging back and forth.

While gaining my bearings, Zest the Doom Deer remained in combat against the Reckiwoo. The far smaller creature grinned and playfully weaved in between Zest's bolts of lightning. Zest tried to defend itself with an [Electro-Barrier], but it became a futile effort as the Reckiwoo struck and smashed Zest's barrier with a headbutt, creating a shockwave and it followed through with a swift kick that left Zest flying through trees.

I frowned after witnessing this occurrence, but I knew that I needed to keep my emotions in check. It looked like Zest had withstood the Reckiwoo's strike, but the monstrous deer was struggling to get back to its feet.

"Focus on me!" I shouted to have the Reckiwoo turn to me with a maniacal grin. The little beast did not hesitate to launch itself towards me, shattering trees within its path, trailing its path of destruction with a nerve wracking laugh.

In a daring move, I released my hold on the trees, launching myself towards the Reckiwoo with breakneck speed. The wind rushed past my ears as I closed the distance, and with a swift twist, I brandished my crystal-tipped spear, its azure lightning crackling in response to my heightened emotions.

In the process of flying through the air, I called upon the power of the [Melodious Shout], my voice resonating with a harmonious vibration that echoed through the jungle's wreckage.

The Reckiwoo momentarily faltered, caught off guard by the unexpected surge of sonic force.

It tried to shake off my the disorientation by thrashing about, but while it was distraught, I drew upon my abyssal mana and I activated my [MereSphere], a potent orb of energy, and unleashed it upon the Reckiwoo. The orb soared through the air, trailing a vibrant stream of cerulean light, while I channeled my own energy into my ears, enhancing my perception and agility.

I lunged at the Reckiwoo as my [MereSphere] detonated on it, my spear poised to strike.

The Reckiwoo swung as I closed the distance between us, and I promptly feinted the spear strike and clamped my jaws around its arm aimed to strike me. My Merecritt fangs sank deeply into its flesh as I used the [Cruel Chomp] technique before sending a devastating voltage of lightning through the Reckiwoo's body and tossing the small creature upside down through the forest's floor.

"Huh? Hahaha!" The Reckiwoo laughed as it scratched its head before crashing into a boulder. "Ahahaha! HAHAHAHA!" The Reckiwoo laughed as it stood back up. It seemed puzzled as it observed its surroundings before pointing at me with a grin. "Fun! More fun!" It bounced up and down, "Merecritt fun! Play! Play! Play!" It howled and stomped a foot, cratering the ground beneath it as it clapped happily.

I shuddered, this creature… it believed this was a game. "Tsk."

Before I could process my next course of action, the Reckiwoo plunged its hands into the ground before pulling out a sizable chunk of earth above its head. The Reckiwoo was a mere speck as it adjusted the giant ball of minerals within one hand. "Hehehe." It snickered. "Let's play-"

"MereSphere." I had hurled the orb created within the confines of my tail as it collided and exploded with the Reckiwoo's self-made ball of rubble.

The Reckiwoo blinked as it looked confused after losing the gigantic orb. It was quick to shrug off its destruction as it simply returned to grinning and leapt towards me, closing the distance between us far faster than I expected.

Its fist was a hairbreadths away from my face; my ears twitched as I flipped and twisted, evading the ground shattering shockwave that proceeded the Reckiwoo's punch.

It continued to punch forth with a flurry of its fists strikes in an even more offensive manner than before. But I adapted, using my enhanced hearing to anticipate its movements, evading its attacks with fluid grace and heedful footwork.

Come on, Aera, steady, steady, steady, I channeled my energy into a concentrated blast, gathering the power of the [Melodious Shout] within me. I released it in a deafening crescendo, a sonic shockwave that reverberated through the battlefield, disorienting the Reckiwoo and temporarily robbing it of its equilibrium.

Igniting and reinforcing my ears, I struck the Reckiwoo with my ears and launched the Reckiwoo away, its form crashing into the chaotic backdrop with a resounding impact. As it struggled to regain its footing, I seized the moment and fired my [MereSphere], the orb of energy launching from my mouth with explosive force.

The Reckiwoo howled in agony as the orb connected, engulfing it in a swirling vortex of energy.

Zest, panting heavily, approached me with urgency in their eyes. "Aera, we must retreat now! Your assault has given us a chance to escape, but we must not waste it."

I nodded, my breaths still ragged from the exhilarating duel against not only the Reckiwoo, but the Makaqoves and the Barbapts. But while thinking, my mind drifted back to the Plelepun who had been tossed into the nearby mountain.

But alas, our hopes were dashed as the Reckiwoo let out a resounding bellow, causing our eardrums to throb. "FIGHT ME!" it shouted. The ground beneath us trembled as it brought its mighty fists down, smashing the earth in front of us.

Startled, I leapt back, narrowly escaping the wrath of its fist. Zest immediately sprang into action, their electric antlers crackling with energy. But before we could mount any kind of defense, an explosive combination of destruction ensued.

We were met with a swift and devastating response. The Reckiwoo's punches were like thunderbolts, striking us with such force that it felt as if the very air had been sucked out of my lungs. The impact sent us hurtling through the air, our bodies crashing against the unforgiving ground.

Pain seared through my body as I struggled to regain my senses. The world spun around me, and I could hear Zest groaning in agony beside me. The Reckiwoo stood tall, its grin seemingly wider than ever as it loomed over us.

"HAHAHAHAHA! FIGHT ME! FIGHT ME!" It screamed and hollered, "FIGHT ME!" It pounded its chest while stomping its feet.

It was clear now that we were currently no match for this crazed creature, especially when we had just finished our battle against the Makaqoves and Barbapts. The Reckiwoo's raw power surpassed anything we had ever encountered before. But even in the face of overwhelming odds—a valorous flicker ignited within me.

With a defiant glare, I struggled to my feet, while using my ears to support Zest as best as I could. Pain radiated through my body, but my spirit remained unbroken. We might be bruised and battered, but we would not yield. We would find a way to overcome this seemingly insurmountable foe.

I stared into the Reckiwoo's grinning face, and I acknowledged that it had become personal now. It wasn't just a battle for survival; it was a battle for our fallen companion, for the honor of our team, and for the chance to prove that even in the face of overwhelming power, we would not be defeated.

Gathering every ounce of strength remaining within me, I charged at the Reckiwoo, spear held-in-ear. But before I could reach it, a mighty punch from the Reckiwoo's compact yet formidable fist collided with me, sending me hurtling through the air again with an unimaginable force.

The impact knocked the wind out of me, leaving me gasping for breath as pain seared through my body.

Beside me, Zest met a similar fate, their form soaring through the air before crashing to the ground with a bone-jarring thud. We lay there, battered and bruised, struggling to regain our senses.

"How… how is it so… powerful…?" I questioned myself as I stared upon the sky's shimmering auroras.

Gritting my teeth, I pushed myself off the ground, pain radiating through every fiber of my being. The Reckiwoo's laughter echoed in the air, constantly taunting, constantly growing in mania. It seemed invincible, an unstoppable force of destruction and chaos. But I refused to let despair consume me.

We would find a way to triumph over the Reckiwoo's reckless might, for the sake of the Plelepun, for our survival!

Zest, shakily got back to their feet, positioned itself protectively in front of me, their antlers crackling with electric energy. The air crackled with tension as the Reckiwoo screeched, its challenge echoing through the forest. Its voice continually carrying a mix of excitement and madness, a volatile combination that fueled its ferocity.

"This madness ends here!" Zest bellowed as it charged forth.

While Zest valiantly charged towards the Reckiwoo, its antlers crackling with crimson electricity, I dashed swiftly to strike towards the Reckiwoo's flank.

I held my breath as my spear struck towards the Reckiwoo's flank, hoping that our combined efforts would finally subdue this indomitable creature.

Bam! Resonated the thunderous impact as Zest collided with the Reckiwoo, its electrified antlers striking and emitting an intense shockwave. However, to our astonishment, the Reckiwoo shrugged off the attack as if it were a mere inconvenience.

In an instant, the Reckiwoo retaliated, its fist connecting with a devastating uppercut that sent Zest soaring upward through the air. My eyes widened in horror as I watched my dear ally hurtling away, crashing into the unforgiving terrain with a ground cracking, resounding thud.

The impact echoed through the ravaged forest…

But, fear and anger… surged within me, fueling and inspiring me unlike anything I had ever felt before.

My companion, Zest... who had guided, protected, and saved me innumerable times since my arrival in this eldritch realm, had been struck down by the Reckiwoo. I shall not let Zest's sacrifice be in vain.

Closing the distance, I lunged at the Reckiwoo, spear aimed squarely at its vulnerable core. But as the crystal tip made contact with the Reckiwoo's small form, a sickening crack filled the air. My spear shattered upon impact, shards of crystal scattering around me like twinkling fragments of my dashed hopes.

The realization that brute force alone would not be enough to defeat this formidable foe washed over me like a cold wave.

The Reckiwoo stood before me, unscathed and seemingly amused by my futile attempt. It grinned that mischievous grin once more.

Fury swelled within me, mingling with disappointment. How could this tiny, seemingly invincible creature withstand all our efforts?

But I refused to be defeated by this setback. I had come too far, fought too hard, to be deterred by a broken weapon.

Drawing upon my inner resilience, I braced myself, ready to face the Reckiwoo head-on, relying on my wit and resourcefulness.

With a defiant glare, I met the Reckiwoo's gaze. The twinkling eyes of this maniac.

I swiftly retracted my damaged ear, abandoning the broken spear.

My eyes narrowed as I reassessed the situation.

I couldn't rely solely on physical strength to overcome the Reckiwoo; I needed to think, to strategize.

In that moment, my survival instincts kicked into overdrive. I knew I had to find another way, a different approach to overcome this foe. I glanced at the fallen Zest, their form barely making a twitch, and it was there that I made a split-second decision.

With lightning coursing through my veins, I channeled that energy in a different manner. Sparks crackled around my tiny form as I unleashed a surge of electricity towards the Reckiwoo, aiming to disrupt its movements and weaken its defenses.

The Reckiwoo staggered for a moment, momentarily caught off guard by the assault. Seizing the opportunity, I pounced forward, my nimble Merecritt form darting around the Reckiwoo with electrified agility. I struck at its exposed flanks, using my remaining ear as a makeshift weapon, landing rapid strikes infused with residual electric energy.

But once again, the Reckiwoo proved its resilience. It shook off the effects of my lightning assault and retaliated with a vicious swipe of its powerful limbs. The force of its counterattack sent me sprawling through the air before crashing against the ground.

Frustration and fatigue washed over me, threatening to engulf my spirit. But I refused to yield. I had come too far to give up now. With a deep breath, I pushed myself back to my feet.

I shifted my strategy as leapt back several times, while creating a concentrated energy sphere between my tiny paws.

The sphere became twice my size, then thrice, then tenfold the size of my average [MereSphere], and it was soon that I infused the massive [MereSphere] with my [Gamma Thunderbolt]. The radiant orb crackled with dreadful energy as I held it above my head, and I swiftly hurled it towards the Reckiwoo with all my might.

The sphere crackled and sizzled as it closed in on its target, striking the Reckiwoo with a burst of explosive power.

To my relief, the Reckiwoo staggered back, momentarily caught off guard by the catastrophic potency of the ranged attack. It recoiled with electricity coursing across its body, but it blinked as it seemed to be processing what had hit it.

I was still encouraged by this small victory, and denied it the chance to recover as I continued to pummel the Reckiwoo with a relentless barrage of [MereSpheres], each one exploding upon impact and inflicting damage as I dashed across the devastated landscape with [MereSwiftness].

However, it quickly became apparent that even my most potent attacks merely chipped away at the Reckiwoo's formidable resilience. Its tenacity was unparalleled, and my frustration grew with each failed attempt to bring it down.

But I couldn't stop now, I adjusted my tactics, weaving and dodging the Reckiwoo's retaliatory strikes while maintaining a safe distance. I combined my ranged assaults with swift maneuvers, hoping to exploit any vulnerabilities that might lie within the Reckiwoo's mighty assault. Plus, it was through this effort that I drew the Reckiwoo away from Zest.

The Reckiwoo, though visibly affected by my onslaught, showed no signs of backing down. Its determination matched my own, and the battle raged on, a relentless dance of attacks and evasions. My heart pounded with rage, exhilaration, and anxiety as I fought tooth and nail to wear down the Reckiwoo.

Every [MereSphere] that struck its mark inflicted small wounds, causing the Reckiwoo to waver in its steps. Yet, it still stood tall, its manic grin unyielding, as if taunting me to try harder. However, I could sense the Reckiwoo's strength waning, but victory still remained just out of reach.

My frustration began to mingle with the resentment igniting within me, urging me to push forward. I mustered every ounce of courage and energy I had, launching an onslaught of [MereSpheres] with increasing intensity. The crackling orbs collided with the Reckiwoo, chipping away at its defenses and pushing it to its limits.

Sweat dripped from my brow as I fought to maintain my focus and keep the momentum in my favor.

While my ranged assaults weren't enough to defeat the Reckiwoo outright, they resumed to wear it down, diminishing its strength with each passing moment. The once unyielding creature now showed signs of fatigue, its movements slower and less precise.

Hope surged within me as I realized that victory was within reach. I would continue to rain down [MereSpheres] and lightning upon the Reckiwoo, never relenting, until the balance tipped in my favor. The Reckiwoo was strong—but it could not be invincible.

Vanishing here and there on the field, I hurled another [MereSphere] towards the Reckiwoo, aiming for its vulnerable spots. The sphere streaked through the air, trailing sparks in its wake, before colliding with the Reckiwoo's defenses. It detonated with a brilliant burst of electrical energy, momentarily staggering the creature.

Further encouraged by these results, I continued my assault, employing ranged attacks to chip away at the Reckiwoo's resolve.

Lightning bolts crackled from my outstretched paws and the end of my flaming-spectral tail, lashing out with precision and destructiveness. Each strike left behind scorch marks and singed fur, but the Reckiwoo remained standing, its unwavering grin taunting me.

Though my attacks were wearing it down to some extent, I realized that I needed a more strategic approach to exploit its vulnerabilities fully.

Before I knew it the Reckiwoo roared in defiance, and it proceeded to destroy the entire ground beneath us with a stomp. I swiftly retreated, seeking a higher vantage point.

I needed to observe its movements, its patterns, and find a weakness that I could truly exploit. Finding a tree, I hastily climbed it, while the Reckiwoo pursued, and it smashed and eradicated each and every tree I perched upon.

Every single time, I reactively leapt and soared, finding a new tree or elevated platform to assess the Reckiwoo.

From my elevated position, I analyzed the Reckiwoo's every move, looking for any opening, any momentary lapse in its defenses.

With newfound insight, I adjusted my strategy, focusing on precision strikes and well-timed evasions. Taking advantage of the maximum range of my retractable ears, I darted in and out of the Reckiwoo's range, striking with calculated lashes towards its throat and joints before darting away to safety.

Each time it tried to grasp my ear, I created a [MereSphere] within my retractable ear's pseudo-hands and in an instant, the [MereSphere] detonated—enhanced with [Doom Zap]. The electrifying explosions stunned and electrocuted the Reckiwoo.

It was a quick observation, but I found and confirmed that the Reckiwoo was foolish, always impulsive… refusing to take consideration of the risks... It lacked fear.

It was a simple creature of brawn. Its endurance unparalleled, and its physical capabilities were unmistakable.

But gradually, I began to wear down the Reckiwoo, exploiting its moments of vulnerability and chipping away at its formidable strength. It was a grueling battle, with no guarantee of victory and wildcard that the Reckiwoo embodied, fought back with unwavering resilience, its every strike sending shockwaves through the earth.

Yet, I refused to give in. I would fight until my last breath, until the very end. I would not relent, for my survival and the survival of those who believed in me depended on it.

Taking in a deep breath, I focused my energy and released a resounding shout that reverberated through the air.
