Ryan Walked out of the tavern and looked around. It seemed like everything was back to normal. No one was looking at him nor were they paying him any attention. Ryan sighed in relief. He was glad that he wasn’t the center of attention anymore. He never liked the attention even during high school. He liked to keep his head down and stay quiet. It would’ve worked if Logan didn’t make a scene constantly which would bring the center of attention to Ryan. He frowned thinking about his friend Logan. Ryan hoped that he wouldn’t be too devastated about his death. Ryan is sure that he’ll find another person to bother and keep him company.
“Logan…”
Ryan said softly thinking more about his friend. He shook his head and decided to go to the adventure’s guild. He walked up to a stall where they were selling fruit.
“Hey, can you help me with something?”
The elven woman turned around and looked at Ryan. She was a head shorter than Ryan. She had piercing icy blue eyes and light blue hair that ran halfway down her back. She was absolutely beautiful. Her sharp facial features made her look unique.
“Yes? You want to buy some fruit?”
Ryan opened his mouth to reject the elf but then looked down at the fruit. There were a lot of fruit that he didn’t recognize.
“Well, I was going to ask for the directions to the adventure’s guild.”
“I’m sorry, you will have to go to a bigger city for one of those. We don’t have one of those.”
“That sucks…”
Ryan said subconsciously as he eyed the fruit. The elf smiled at him.
“See something you like?” She asked Ryan.
“Well, I’ve familiar with some of these fruits but I’m not familiar with some of the others.”
“Oh? Which ones don’t you know? Maybe I can give you a free sample?”
Ryan looked up at the elf. He was surprised that she would offer something like a free sample.
“Really? I didn’t think there was a such thing as ‘free samples’.”
The elf giggled a little.
“Yes, some of the stalls offer free samples as long as you buy something.”
“And there’s the catch.” Ryan pointed at the elf. The elf just smiled at him.
“It’s a fair trade is it not?”
Ryan just nodded. Ryan looked at the fruit and pointed to one.

“What fruit is this?”
The elf picked up the fruit that Ryan was pointing to. It was a pear-shaped fruit, but the skin was a purple hue.
“This is called a ‘Pear-adise Fruit’.”
She cut the fruit open. The inside of the fruit was an orange color with little black seeds in it. It reminded Ryan what a dragon fruit looks like when it was cut open. She gave Ryan a piece of the fruit. Ryan took it and popped it in his mouth. It was so juicy and tangy. It reminded Ryan of what an orange and lemon would taste like if they were fused together. Ryan can only imagine what the fruit juice of this would be like.
“That is really good.”
The elf smiled at Ryan and nodded at him.
“Yeah, it’s one of our most popular fruits.”
“I can see that. What fruit is this?”
The elf picked up the fruit that was the size of a cantaloupe. It was a blood red color. She cut open the fruit and it was white on the inside. It had red like veins on the “meat” of the fruit. She took a piece of it and held it out to Ryan.
“This is called the ‘Blood Melon”.
Ryan took the piece and bit into it. It was a lot tougher than he thought. It felt like he was biting into a crisp apple but had the taste of a grapefruit mixed with a kiwi. It was an odd taste, but he still liked it.
“That’s good too. Can I get two of each?”
“Sure.”
The elf smiled and nodded at Ryan. She gets two of the Pear-adise and Blood Melon fruit and packs it up for Ryan.
“That will be 2 gold pieces, please.”
Ryan opened his Inventory and grabbed his money and took out 2 gold pieces. He handed the gold to the elf girl. The elf girl smiled and handed over the fruit. Ryan grabbed the fruit and added it to his inventory. The elf girl’s eyes widened. Ryan looked up at the elf girl.
“You’re…. You’re the….”
Ryan quickly put a finger to his lips. The elf girl stopped what she was going to say.
“How do you know?”
“No one has dimensional storage. The only one that has that is the Hero. Are you really one?”
Ryan nodded. The elf girl smiled big.
“Really!?”
Ryan hushed her.
“Please keep it down. I don’t want the attention.”
“Really? Why? All the others loved it.”
“I’m not like them. I like it when I don’t have a lot of attention on me. If everyone knew, it would be hard to get around because everyone would want me to talk to them.”
The elf girl nodded and tried to give Ryan’s gold back.
“No… Don’t you dare.”
“But-“
“But nothing. I wanted to buy the fruit. Don’t give me special treatment because of my title.”
The elf girl’s eyes sparkled.
“Wow… You’re really amazing.”
“I’m not really but thanks?”
The elf girl came from behind the stall and gave Ryan a big hug. Ryan was caught by surprise. He felt her hugging tightly as she rested her head on his shoulder. He blushed a little.
“What was this for?”
The elf girl blushed and ended her hug.
“Sorry, I couldn’t help myself. Not many Heroes are like you. You seem like you are a kind and gentle soul. My name is Ad’Dier.”
“Hello Ad’Dier, my name is Ryan.”
“Ryan… What a particular name.”
Ryan scratched the back of his head and blushed a little.
“I guess. I wasn’t ever told that before. Where I am from, it’s a fairly common name.”
Ad’Dier reached into her pocket and handed Ryan a ring. Ryan looked at the ring in his hand. It looked like it was made out of silver that had a light blue gem in the middle of it. He looked at her.
“I can’t accept-‘
She placed a finger on his lips.
“Please, take it. I want you to have it.”
Ryan looked back at the ring and put it on his pinky.
“Okay, I guess I have no choice then.”
Ad’Dier’s face brightened up when he put the ring on his pinky.
“Well, Ad’Dier, I need to leave now. I got somewhere to be.”
Ad’Dier giggled and nodded at him.
“Yes, I know. Come back when you can, okay? I’ll be waiting for you.”
Ryan nodded at her.
“I’ll see what I can do. I’ll try to come back.”
Ryan turned around and headed out of the town. Ad’Dier smiled as he walked away from her.
“Goodbye, fiancé….”
