“FATHER!” Freya yelled out into the small castle.
The castle almost shook from her voice alone, and her father flinched at her voice. He is regretting what his daughter is about to pout about even though he doesn’t know what she wants. He was an older man in his 60s. He was Human which was odd for him to have a Beastkin daughter unless she was Half-Human and Half-Beastkin which is possible. He had a bold head but a beard that would make any dwarf jealous if they existed in this world. The doors to his throne room get kicked open and Freya storms in.
“Father, I have another insubordinate lowly peasant that failed to give me the respect I deserve!” Freya pointed behind her to show her father Ryan who was still in the arms of two guards. Lord Barret just sighed.
“Freya… Why most you always get mad when someone doesn’t…”
Lord Barret finally locks eyes with Ryan. He suddenly froze in shock before yelling at the guards.
“RELEASE HIM AT ONCE!”
The guards quickly let Ryan go. Ryan fell put catches himself before hitting the ground. Ryan stood up straight as Freya starts to protest.
“But father, he disrespected me and our family! Why are you-“
“SILENCE, YOU SPOILED CHILD!” Lord Barret yelled at his child without mercy. “CAN YOU NOT SEE THAT HE IS THE HERO THAT WAS SUMMONED TO OUR WORLD!?
“Oh, how can you tell?” Ryan asked Lord Barret.
“Hero? Him?” Freya started cackling which made Ryan and Lord Barret cringe. Ryan looked over at Lord Barret.
“Can you please shut her up? That laugh is terrible-“ Ryan asked Lord Barret but was shocked when Lord Barret scrambled over to him and started to bow before him.
“Please forgive my ignorant daughter, Hero. She didn’t know what she was doing!” Lord Barret pleaded with Ryan. Ryan took a step back.
“H-hey now. No need for that. Please get up.” Ryan pleaded to Lord Barret himself not to try to make a scene. Lord Barret gets up and looks into the violet eyes of Ryan.
“I’m sorry if I or my daughter have offended you.” Lord Barret said, trying to apologize once again to the Hero.
“I’m not offended at you. I’m just irritated that your daughter is spoiled.”
Lord Barret sighed. “I know she is. It is my fault that she acts this way. I spoiled her too much.”

“It’s fine.” Ryan shook his head. Freya suddenly popped up between the two of them and pointed at Ryan.
“Father, he is not the Hero. There is no way that a peasant like him would be one! He’s not even in shining armor and asking for my hand in marriage!” Freya protested even though she had her own warp idea of what her Hero would be.
“Hell no. I’m never going to marry you.” Ryan quickly rejected her fantasy. Freya sniffled a laugh.
“Of course not. You’re not the Hero so why should I?” Freya stood proudly.
“Forgive my daughter, Hero. I love my daughter, but she is ignorant.” Lord Barret said to Ryan.
“That reminds me, how do you know that I am a Hero?” Ryan asked again after being interrupted by Freya earlier.
“It’s your aura. Anyone that has an affinity with Mana can feel that your mana is different. It’s like it was blessed by the Goddess Alta. There should be a mark on your hand that would prove that you are the Hero.” Lord Barret said to Ryan. Ryan looked at his hand over, looking inside and behind his hand.
“How can I show you? I never knew that I had such a mark.”
“See!? He’s not the Hero!” Freya interjected wanting to put her own two cents in.
A prompt popped up in front of Ryan.
Would you like to reveal “Hero’s Mark” to Lord Barret and Freya? Y/N?
Ryan agreed to the prompt and his right hand started to glow. His hand glowed a sigil that had a diamond shaped outline with a scepter with wings around it which was the symbol of the Goddess Alta. Freya’s jaw dropped as she saw the sigil on the back of Ryan’s hand.
“That’s… That’s impossible! You can’t be my Hero!” Freya argued as she stomped her foot and her tail whipped back and forth in frustration.
“You’re right.” Ryan answered her. “I’m not ‘your’ Hero. I would never be your Hero with your attitude.”
“W-what!?” Freya exclaimed to Ryan. Lord Barret chimed into the conversation.
“Please, Hero. Would you reconsider marrying my daughter?” Lord Barret had hope but not much since his daughter already offended the Hero as is. Ryan sighed.
“Please call me Ryan.” Ryan told Lord Barret.
“Sir Ryan, please consider marrying my daughter I’m sure-“
“Hell no.”
“WHY NOT! YOU SHOULD BE HON-“ Freya was yelling at Ryan before her father covered her mouth.
“Freya please! Don’t offend the Hero as is!” Lord Barret pleaded to his daughter.
“I’m still not going to marry her.”
“Please! Give her a chance! She’ll be a great wife if you let her!”
“I don’t think so.”
“Why not! I’ll be the best wife!”
Ryan glared at her. That made Freya and Lord Barret step back. Ryan looked at Lord Barret.
“I’m not interested in your daughter. I am sorry but she’s just not my type.” Ryan admitted which made Lord Barret sad. He only wished for his daughter to marry a good man and the Hero would be that man. He knew if his daughter were with the Hero, she would become a better person.
“Why not!? I’m just perfect for you! I’m the most beauti-“
“Not with that attitude.” Ryan looked at Freya with disgust. She was startled by his opinion.
“Can I leave?” Ryan asked Lord Barret. Lord Barret nodded.
“You may leave Her- I mean Ryan. Would you consider taking my daughter with you?”
“No.”
Ryan turned around and started to walk away. Freya grabbed his wrist. Ryan slowly turned around to see Freya looking at him with tears in her eyes. She sniffled.
“Please… Take me with you…?”
She tried her hardest to use her cutest look at Ryan trying to persuade Ryan into taking her with him. He looked deep into her blue eyes.
“No.”
“Eh?” Is the only thing Freya could say before Ryan left her in the throne room.
