Ryan nodded at his status window before discarding it.

“Yep, still human. Now, I got to figure out where to go…” As soon as Ryan said that a window popped up with the “Map” tab opened indicating his location. It didn’t give a full map, but enough to get an idea of where he was at. There was a red dot flashing in a certain part of the map.

“I guess this is where I need to go.” Ryan adjusted himself before starting his journey to this red dot.

“Where are you going? Don’t you want to stay a little while longer? A gentle voice is heard in the forest that was behind Ryan. Ryan turned around and unsheathed his sword clumsy.

“Who said that!? Ryan yelled out to the open air towards the forest. Ryan just heard a giggle from within the forest.

“There’s no reason to be scared. I’m just a little lonely. I thought maybe you could give me some company, so I won’t so alone…” The voice was thick with seduction.

“Kinda hard to trust someone that hasn’t shown themselves to me!” Ryan was scanning the area to see if he could pinpoint where the voice was. He heard another giggle.

“Oh, silly me. Here, let me reveal myself.” A girl forms out from a tree and stands near the forest’s edge.

She had short dark green hair with amber colored eyes. She was wearing whatever greenery that was around her as clothes that left little to the imagination. Ryan blushed a little before trying to keep his eyes on the face of this girl.

Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit.

“What are you?” Ryan finally asked after collecting himself.

“I am a Dryad monster girl. Don’t you want to come closer? I can’t see you too well from where I am at. I am bond to the forest and cannot leave it.” She gestured around her. Ryan looked around at her gesture. He shook his head.

“I don’t think so. I may have just got to this world, but I don’t just trust anyone that I just met.” Ryan continues to train his sword at the Dryad. The Dryad was shocked a little that Ryan wasn’t seduced by her charms but then collected herself.

“Oh, silly me. I didn’t tell you, my name. My name is Willow.” Willow leans on a tree and tries to arch her back a little to show off more of her assets. “You say that you just got to this world. Does that make you a ‘Hero’?” Ryan winced a little. He instantly regrets what he told her about just coming into this world.

“Why do you think that?” Ryan tried to steer the conversation into something different or try to think otherwise. Willow smirked.

“Because only ‘Heroes” are summoned into this world, and you look like you are a lost puppy. Your gear looks like that of a starting adventurer. Then again, no adventurer would wear something so weak and fragile.” She teases Ryan and gestures him to come closer. “Why don’t you come with me, little hero. I’ll make sure you are safe and sound…”

Willow’s voice was thick with seduction and trying to lure Ryan closer to her still. Ryan shook his head.

“I don’t think so. No telling what you’ll do once I enter that forest. I know monster girls and their ways to lure men into their realm so they can do whatever to the men.” Ryan knew better. He’s played plenty of games about monster girls. Especially the one about a young boy with an odd sword traveling with a lamia. Willow’s flirtatious persona turned sour as her face contorted into more of a monster’s as she screamed.

“GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE SO I CAN ABSORB YOUR DELICIOUS HERO AURA!” Willow slowly starts to grow wooden wings. Ryan slowly sheaths his sword and backs up.

“This isn’t good.” Ryan said as Willow slowly starts to flutter her wings and floats. “NOT GOOD!”

Ryan starts to run towards the red dot on his “Map”. Willow starts to fly towards with remarkable speed even with her wooden wings.

“There’s no way that those wings are that good!” Ryan yells behind him. “This is some magic bullshit!”

“I’ll give you more than that!” Willow answers back. “LET ME LOVE YOU!”

“NO! I know a crazy bitch when I see one, and you are definitely crazy!” Ryan continues to run from Willow as she is getting closer and closer to Ryan.

“DAMMIT! I need to go faster!” Ryan yells out.

Run mode activated. Depleting Stamina.

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN ‘RUN MODE’!? YOU MEAN I WASN’T RUNNING BEFORE!?” Ryan yells out the rhetorical question as a purple hue glows on his body as he runs even faster than before.

As Ryan runs off into the distance, Willow slowly stops pursuing Ryan. An evil smirk creeps on her face as something dawns on her.

“Oh, my…” Her breath became heavier. She bites her lower lip as she watches Ryan disappear from her sight. “I think I’m going to enjoy this ‘Hero’ once I get my hands on him. Oh, he’s going to make me even more powerful!” She starts cackling manically as the possibilities flood her mind.

WARNING: Stamina depleted.

Ryan suddenly fell and rolled on the ground. He fell off a hill and tumbled down it hard.

“Ow. Shit. Dammit. OW!” Ryan said as he hit rocks and hard soil. He finally slammed into the back of some hard soil as his body fell limp. His “Status” window popped up in front of him.

“Damn. That took a lot of health from my tumble. I’ll need to remember to stop running when I run out of Stamina.” Ryan just leaned on the soil behind him as his eyes slowly closed. He falls asleep soon after from his depleted stamina.
