Chapter 44: Abyss Pollution Chamber

"Come on, eat up! I'm even giving you something to eat, that's pretty good of me!"

Birkin commanded the demon slave to bring some food to the iron cage in front of him, roaring at the top of his voice. His hoarse and rough voice was very harsh.

In front of Birkin were several huge iron cages, made of black metal as thick as a bowl mouth and covered with dark red rust. Inside the cages were dozens of prisoners from various races. The scales of the Lizardmen had lost their former luster; the Merfolk's originally moist skin had become dry and cracked; the Goblins, short but skinny, had also lost their former cunning and were now left with nothing but fear, huddled in the corner...

They were obviously starving, and their hollow eyes lit up at the sight of the food. They held out their dirty hands and quickly reached for the food, but they were afraid to be too bold, for fear of angering Bilkin.

Birkin looked down on his captives with contempt and spat on the ground. Then he leisurely sat in a chair, put his feet up on the table, and hummed an off-key tune.

“Birkin, this is a new batch of prisoners. Keep them alive!”

A Demon Artisan interrupted Birkin's leisure. Behind him were a dozen new prisoners. The poor souls were chained together in a long chain, the end of which was held by the Demon Artisan.

Birkin heard the voice and sprang to his feet. He ran all the way to the Demon Artisan, respectfully took the chain from the Demon Artisan's hands, and his face was full of a servile smile.

“Rest assured!”

The Demon Artisan glanced at Birkin casually, his expression devoid of emotion, as if he were looking at an insignificant ant. Then he hurriedly left, eager to get back to forging his “masterpiece”, which was what really mattered to him.

Birkin opened the iron cage, which creaked with a loud noise.

He rudely ordered the captives to get in, cursing the whole time. When he encountered some who were not very obedient, Birkin would also give them a kick.

Although these captives came from various races, none of them were of high level, almost all of them were below level-4.

The chains on their wrists and the iron cages outside were carefully forged by the Demon Artisans. The chains were engraved with mysterious runes that exuded a power of confinement that was not something they could break free from.

“Why do they suddenly want to capture a group of prisoners!”

Birkin sat back down in his chair, munching on fruit while frowning and looking puzzled.

This morning, after a group of demons brought these large iron cages here, prisoners were brought here one batch after the other. This is the fifth batch!

......

“Birkin, the lord wants you to escort the prisoners to the central square!”

Morrigan's shrill voice was like a broken gong, which immediately woke Birkin from his beautiful dream.

Birkin sprang up from his chair, his eyes still betraying a trace of anger from being woken up, but as soon as he heard it was the lord's order, he immediately came to his senses.

Birkin opened the cage, counted the number of prisoners, and then pulled the chain handle, hurrying towards the central square of Gluia Town.

He was accompanied by a dozen demon soldiers, whose main task was to guard the prisoners and prevent any escape!

Upon arriving at the square, Caelan was already standing there. Birkin respectfully bowed to him, bending his body to 90 degrees and adopting the humblest possible attitude. But his eyes couldn't help but glance to the side!

It was a building shaped like a pool, made of huge black bones. The edges were inlaid with dark red gems, and the inside contained a thick black liquid. From time to time, bubbles would rise from the bottom, and when they burst, they would give off a pungent smell, like that of a decaying corpse. Around the pool were several black stone pillars, covered in twisted, painful expressions, making the building even more eerie and oppressive!

“Throw it into the Abyss Pollution Chamber.”

Caelan extended his finger and casually pointed at a captive Merfolk in front of him, his voice cold.

“Yes, my lord!”

Morrigan responded in a low voice, her huge, hilly body swaying slightly as her huge hands, like iron pincers, clutched down on the Merfolk. There was a “click” sound, and the chains snapped under her immense strength. The Merfolk's eyes were filled with terror. It struggled desperately, making a “gurgling” sound with its mouth, a desperate cry for help, but it was still mercilessly thrown into the Abyss Pollution Chamber by Morrigan like trash.

As soon as the Merfolk, which had been thrown into the Abyss Pollution Chamber, came into contact with the thick liquid in the pool, it let out a miserable scream as if it were being burned by fire. The sound pierced the sky, sending a chill through everyone present.

Its body began to tremble violently, its skin quickly ulcerating, and its scales falling off one after the other, dissolving into the black liquid. In less than two seconds, its entire body was corroded by strong acid, and it was directly reduced to a pool of bloody water during the transformation of the Abyss Pollution Chamber. The pool of bloody water rolled around in the pool a few times before being completely swallowed up by the mysterious liquid, leaving no trace behind, as if it had never existed in this world.

The remaining captives were horrified by this terrifying scene. Some of the captives' legs felt weak and they collapsed directly to the ground; some of them ran directly towards the surroundings regardless of the consequences, wanting to escape from this horrible place.

But how could they escape? !

Birkin's face also instantly turned pale and cold sweat was dripping from his face. He secretly thanked the lucky stars in his heart that he had surrendered early, otherwise, he would also become Caelan's experiment!

Yes, experiment!

At Caelan's behest, Morrigan rudely tossed the captives one after the other into the Abyss Pollution Chamber.

Each toss was accompanied by desperate cries and struggles.

However, no matter how hard they struggled, after a few creepy screams, they quickly succumbed to the corrupting influence of the evil power. Their muscles and bones quickly dissolved under the corrosion of the mysterious liquid and turned into bloody water.

The longest they lasted was no more than ten seconds!

Suitable creatures, this really depressed Caelan!

At first, Caelan didn't really care about the suitability of the building after completing the construction.

In his own opinion, this Abyss Pollution Chamber should be able to transform any creature.

Reality quickly hit him in the face.

The dozens of prisoners of various races he captured did not meet the requirements of the Abyss Pollution Chamber!

However, after many cruel experiments, Caelan still had a guess.

That is, the Abyss Pollution Chamber may require a powerful creature with a rare bloodline.

However, to find such a bloodline is a huge problem!
