Chapter 4: Terror of Demon Army

At first, Caelan thought that these demons were born hungry, prompting this group of them to devour each other.

After all, these demons were acting, one by one, like starving ghosts.

Therefore, he immediately exchanged enough food from the Arcane Treasure Exchange and sent it to them.

On top of that, Caelan also used the Lord's call to order them to separate a certain distance from each other, forbidding them from devouring each other.

But all of this was only temporary.

What was shocking was that the vast majority of the demons, after getting their hands on the food, without the slightest hesitation, immediately ate all of that food.

Then, they went straight to snatching it, and they still spied for more, their endless desires like a magic spell.

...

Gradually, Caelan quickly realized one thing.

Giving these demons food would only slow down the rate at which they killed each other. As long as they didn't have a common enemy, these demons would fight until the end.

But it wasn't a meaningless fight.

[Lesser Demon boosts Strength by 1 point]

......

[Native Demon boosts Intelligence by 2 points]

Caelan observed that any demons that devoured other companions would gain 1-4 extra attribute points.

Moreover, the more of their kind they devoured, the greater this increase would be.

These shameless bastards with despicable characters were actually evolving slowly, albeit at the cost of blood.

This was good news for Caelan and bad news at the same time.

The good news is that his soldiers, it seems, have a decent ceiling.

The bad news is that if these bastards keep "evolving", he's going to fail the Lord's Trial!

"Stay where you are, no more devouring each other!"

Caelan roared, forcibly using his Lord's control to separate the writhing demons from each other and bring them slowly to the Abyssal Gate.

Soldiers of all races submit to the forced orders of their respective lords.

However, even in the face of their lord's orders, these demons were still very "stubborn".

For example, stealing a Lesser Demon when no one is around...

Or beating up their own kind for messing with them...

There was no such thing as discipline in the Demon Race.

Caelan sighed, feeling helpless.

"This can't go on like this, even though it's a bit early to go to the Eternal Continent, we have to go."

"If it drags on any longer, this group of Demon soldiers, there will only be one left."

Thinking of this, Caelan opened the dusty Abyssal Gate.

"Instead of letting them kill meaninglessly, it's better to let them go to the Eternal Continent to accumulate resources."

What was on the Eternal Continent was not only resources but also countless creatures, some of which were weak and allowed to be bullied; some were extremely powerful and occupied one side.

These creatures were hunters and prey.

They, at any time, would be caught and become fresh Flesh, providing many precious materials.

Caelan was prepared to secretly send soldiers to the Eternal Continent while all the other Lords were working hard to develop their territories for the establishment of the Portal, and although this was a forced choice, it was also a perfect opportunity provided to him by the Abyssal Gate.

After all, even in the Eternal Continent, resources were not endless.

As the Abyssal Gate opened, one demon after another, walked in.

Caelan couldn't help but reveal a smile, finally finding a good place for these "bastards"!

On the other hand, some creatures noticed the anomaly.

Eternal continent, a swamp, a group of Merfolk patrolling the surrounding area, suddenly saw not far away, out of nowhere, a shining black and red light of the gate, from which out of the ugly guys.

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

These Merfolk eyes could not help but reveal doubts, for some reason, they looked at these ugly guys, and their hearts were filled with uneasiness.

......

A wild level-1 Merfolk was surrounded by a group of level-0 Lesser Demons.

As it screamed miserably, one of his arms was ripped off alive before being stuffed into the mouth of an impatient Lesser Demon.

Another Lesser Demon was also incomparably furious after arriving at its long-desired delicacy being snatched away by others. It kicked the Lesser Demon that was devouring the Merfolk's arm and helplessly chose the other delicious part - the Merfolk's beating heart.

The wild Merfolk struggled uselessly.

Farther away, more Merfolk were repeating its tragedy.

A large number of Lesser Demons and Native Demons were slaughtering the Merfolk who had come to support them.

These Merfolk weren't weak, their base attributes were even stronger than the Native Demons, but the Demons outnumbered them by too much!

Not long after, this tribe of Merfolk located in the swampy area was brutally slaughtered by the demon soldiers.

Their dwellings were burnt down, and the remaining corpses were brought back to The Dark Abyss by the demons to be savored.

Caelan counted the loot in The Dark Abyss, besides many Flesh and a few rare materials, there was also a grey-tattered boot.

[Congratulations, you obtain the equipment]

[Stinking Merfolk Boot: Attribute ***, Requirements ***, ……]

【INFO】:

The equipment system existed in this world, equipment wasn't exclusive to lords, it could be equipped to generals and heroes. Even as long as the attributes were up to standard, many ordinary soldiers could wear equipment as well.

Areas where equipment drops are not uncommon in this world, such as Merfolk Tribe, Beast Lair, Recruitment Graveyard, and so on, all have a chance to obtain equipment.

Only, in many cases, the attributes of these dropped equipment were relatively trashy and not very useful.

"Stinking Merfolk Boot..."

Caelan couldn't help but frown as he looked at the equipment he had obtained. The attributes of the equipment really didn't serve any purpose, and it also emitted a foul odor!

Caelan pinched his nose and sent this equipment to the Arcane Treasure Exchange, exchanging it for a smattering of Resource Points, which was a good use of its value.

After exchanging the other loot for resource points as well, the previously depleted resource points finally started to pick up, and Caelan's expression lightened up a lot.

"Finally, out of that dirt-poor situation."

Previously, due to the need to activate the Abyssal Hatchery as well as build the first batch of armies, Caelan had directly spent all the resource points he had on him.

Even though his initial resource points are 1.5 times that of a regular lord, they are still too few.

After creating just a few hundred Lesser Demons and fifty Native Demons, he had already reached the point of exhaustion.

Fortunately though, for now, Caelan's choices were paying off!

"On top of the Eternal Continent today, there are no opponents that can interfere with me."

"Now that I'm in control of this demon army, I can make use of this to prioritize my attacks on those wild gatherings that are most likely to drop precious materials, and try my best to extend my advantage."

"All in all, I must firmly grasp this advantage."

Thinking of this, Caelan completely ignored the earlier tragedy of the Merfolk tribe, and without any hesitation, he had this demon army, which had already made up its ranks, head to the next hunting spot that he had already marked long ago.

It was a lizardman village with strange statues.

But the person who was paying attention to the movements of this Demon Army wasn't just Caelan himself.

Above the sky where this Demon Army hadn't noticed, a grey-winged creature was flying rapidly towards the grassland in the distance.

Because of that grassland, existing a force that could temporarily curb Caelan's expansion.
