After getting off the phone with Davis, Jet could see worry radiating from the eyes of both women. Davis said he needed some help with another World Jumper. Jet knew there would be a risk, but it wouldn't hurt to check out the situation.
"What's going on, Jet?" Jean asked him, worry apparent in her voice.
Jet shrugged, "They just need some help with some World Jumper. He, or she has killed a lot of people from the sounds of what Davis said." He smiled at them, trying to lighten the mood.
"Why you?" Jean asked.
"They need help, and Davis knows I have experience dealing with problems." Jet saw the worried look in both their gazes. "Don't worry, if it looks too bad, I can walk away. Davis said he wouldn't force me in any way to do something dangerous." He reassured them.
"But you just got back," Amanda said with tear-filled eyes, her voice coming out weak.
"I'll compromise. Alex will stay here and tell you if I'm in any danger. After all, we share thoughts." Jet would also be more comfortable with someone watching them while he is gone.
"Wait, I should go and help. You're reckless." Alex stated matter of factly.
"Don't worry so much. If it looks risky, I'll just walk away." Jet lied.
"You're still a bad liar." Amanda had tears rolling down her face.
Jet walked over to Amanda and embraced her. "I will always come back because my heart is yours."
"And mine yours." Amanda embraced him back.
After his heartwarming moment with Amanda, he got a helicopter ride to a small town. "What am I looking at?" Jet asked as he looked at a town filled with vines and roots. It also was covered in a fog.
Davis lit a cigarette and sighed. "Don't know, the vines and roots attack us when we try to enter." He blew out a puff of smoke.
"And I'm here. Why?" Jet had a bad feeling.
Davis put a foot forward, and the vines snapped at him. "Well, thing is. The usual guy that helped us is in another world right now."
"So, I got to ask. Are those people?" Jet pointed at what looked like bones.
"Yup, some are my men." He threw his cigarette at a vine, and it struck out at him. Then threw some cuffs at Jet. "Hate to ask. But could you go get the person doing this?"
"Wow, you trust me enough to do this?"
"Kid, I'm going, to be honest. I don't trust a lot of people. But sometimes, you have to trust your gut, and my gut says you can be trusted. However, if you don't want to help, I'll understand." Davis reached his hand out to take the cuffs back.
Jet looked ahead at the bones lying around. "It's fine. I'll be right back." He would have to make Earth safe for his family. Stepping forward, he reached in for his magic. Taking his time, several fireballs formed in front of him. The vines started to move back from the heat. Jet released the fireballs, which exploded in several places. Then the vines and roots began to scream. "Ok, it seems fire works, and I'm good at that."
Jet created a thin wall of fire around himself, then walked into the grove of vines, which started to attack him immediately. However, when they touched the wall of fire, they turned to ash.
After walking around for a few minutes, Jet decided the town was straight out of a horror movie. At least the roots and vines had stopped attacking him. Then he came up to a building with a tree growing out of the roof. "That looks ominous. I'll go there."
While Jet walked towards the tree, it turned to look at Him. The tree creaked and moaned as it turned. Two eyes looked down at Jet, and a mouth appeared with a creepy smile. Jet looked down at the cuffs given to him and frowned. "I don't think these are big enough." He mumbled to himself.
"So you must be the tingle in my roots." The tree said in a voice that sounded like branches breaking.
Jet wasn't sure how to respond. "I assume you killed everyone in town." So he decided to go straight to the point.
"You understand what I am saying?" The tree sounded surprised.
The roots started to back off. He assumed it was so they could talk. "Yes, I can understand what you're saying." This was getting odd, and Jet didn't believe this was a World Jumper. It being a tree and all.

"Small one, what brings you to my home?" It asked.
Jet looked around at the bones on the ground. "You killed everyone in town."
The tree just stared at Jet, then stared some more until he pointed at some bones. "Those were used to feed my seeds."
Jet cleared his throat. "Your seeds?"
"Yes, my seeds." The tree repeated.
"Will your seeds get as big as you," Jet asked.
"We were promised a new life in another world."
Now Jet knew a World Jumper was involved. However, the tree didn't answer his question. If there are more of these trees, that could pose a problem if they feed off people. Jet was about to ask his question again until a root shot up through his foot. He cried out in pain from the new hole in his foot. Then it felt like something was crawling under his skin. Before the tree could eat him, fire run through his foot, burning all the roots out. 'Ok, this is bad.'
'Jet want me to come help you?' Alex butted into his thoughts.
'Nope, I got this.' Jet said as he dodged several more roots. "So no way we can talk things out." He yelled at the tree.
"The one who brought us here. Warned us not to trust anyone."
Jet turned just in time for a branch of the tree to slam into his stomach. Flying through the air, he found out it was hard to correct his position. Of course, generally, you don't have time to think about the landing. He hadn't even used his overdrive, and all these thoughts went through his mind. So using his magic to strengthen his body, he prepared for a crash landing. Ok, more than just one landing, his body skipped on the ground till he came to a sudden stop.
"Jet, you ok?" Davis run over to him, yelling.
Jet opened his eyes and saw a dent about his size on a swat truck. "That hurt."
"Don't move. The paramedics are on the way." Davis said, looking over Jet's body.
"Don't worry, just some bruises." Jet moaned as he got up slowly. "Also, I'm going to need bigger cuffs."
Davis and everyone turned as the ground started to shake. "What the hell is that?"
"You guys need to get out of here. It's about to get hot." Jet said and walked towards the tree. The air grew hot around Jet as he prepared for a fight.
"Jet, you can't." Davis started.
"I'll keep the damage to a minimum." Jet said as an explosion under his feet blew him forward. Reaching back for his sword, he realized it was still at home. So he reached to his side to summon World Breaker. He would like to say he was flying, but it was just falling in the direction he blasted himself. Jet slashed one of the branches of the tree off. Now he hadn't expected the red goo that splashed onto him. After landing and rolling quickly back to his feet. Then he almost vomited from the smell of the goo.
The ground shook, and he looked around. Buildings started to crumble as the roots and vines all headed towards Jet. The world went black as the roots and vines surrounded him. Jet closed his eyes and concentrated on his magic. His thoughts went into overdrive, and he slowly built a dome of fire around himself. Then he expanded the dome outwards as fast as he could. It would have looked like the dome was going outwards slowly. However, it was expanding at an extreme rate. The buildings shook as the dome of fire ripped them apart. When Jet opened his eyes, ash was raining down on him, then he cringed. 'Oh crap, that did a lot of damage.'
The tree just looked at Jet, mouth hanging open. The branch that had been cut off was still leaking red goo. "You're a monster."
"Really, I'm the monster." Jet cocked his head. "So how about we talk this over? Maybe we can work something out."
Well, that hadn't gone well. Now Jet got to see a tree start to foam from the mouth. He was confident it was mad, ok, more than just mad. Now it had begun to leak a black goo-like substance on its bark. "I protect my seeds."
"Ok, we can work something out. There is a lot of free land on this world." Jet tried not to back off. Then he regretted not backing off cause the tree jumped right at him, which looked odd. After all, trees didn't jump. He still managed to dodge the attack. However, some of the black goo landed on his shoulder. A sizzling noise could be heard as it ate through his shirt and into his shoulder. Jet immediately created some water and washed the black goo away.
Jet let out a long breath of air, then got into a fighting stance. There was no point trying to reason with the creature. The world started to come to a crawl as he activated overdrive. He watched in slow motion as branches of the tree struck out at him. Jet jumped onto the first branch, cutting the next branch off. Then he leaped backward, dodging the next two, landing on another. A vine slammed into his back and, with no hesitation, he burned the vine puncturing his back and then creating a few fireballs, a couple dozen.
This tree could move quite fast. It leaped back when the fireballs were created. Then a wall of vines and roots formed in front of the tree. Jet had to admit, for being a tree, it was clever, except that it used wood to protect itself from fire. One of the fireballs flew towards the wall and exploded and did absolutely nothing. Looking closer, Jet saw that black goo again. He then put a dozen fireballs together, then sent it towards the wall. Air blew by Jet from the explosion, and he winced when another building started to collapse.
A scream rang out from the tree as the wall caught fire and blew apart. Ok, not quite a scream, but it sounded like a forest being broke apart. The tree looked in horror as Jet walked its way, eleven of the fireballs spinning around him. The tree tried to back up, but it couldn't move. It looked down to find large hands made from the pavement holding it in place. Looking back at Jet, it sent vines at him to attack. However, when they got close to Jet, they burst into flames and turned to ash. The tree rapidly blinked its eyes. The world looked like it was bending and twisting around Jet. Steam could be seen coming off of him, and if you looked closer, ice would form on Jet's skin just to melt and reform. The pavement around Jet was bubbling from the heat of his magic. But the tree was stuck looking into Jet's eyes that glowed blue, with an extreme intensity to kill.
Like all creatures backed in a corner, it started to act desperate. With one of its largest branches, it grabbed Jet, picking him up, then slammed him into the ground. The branch began to crack and burst into flames. However, the tree didn't stop lifting Jet and slamming him into the ground. Then suddenly, as it lifted Jet to do it again when he went back down, he kept going up. Jet had sliced through the branch, then threw a fireball right into the mouth of the tree.
The tree fell over with a crash, and Jet got up. He walked onto the tree, the remaining fireballs merging with World Breaker. Stopping right over the tree's face, Jet stabbed his sword down into the tree. Cracks formed on the tree, and flames began to burst from them. Then the tree burst into flames turning into ash.
