It had been two weeks now in the cave. Jet had only gone out one other time for more food. He had almost got caught. The Crimson Swords had started looking for them. He figured it was because there weren't any body's found where they had fallen. The cave entrance was hidden by vines growing up the mountainside. Apparently, Jet's explosion to slow their fall had moved some, revealing the entrance. Relo had put them back after dragging them into the cave.
Jet wasn't sure if he would still call it a cave. He had made a toilet room and a bathroom for them. The water was gotten from a stream nearby, and he didn't want to leave the cave anymore for fear of getting caught. He just used his magic to pull the dirt out of the water. Rachael and Relo liked having the bath. However, Jet regretted creating the tub. His original intention for putting it behind walls was for the girl's privacy. Then the next day they complained the water got cold too fast. That's when the girls decided he was a bath warmer and dragged him along. So he also found out why Rachael hit him. It wasn't for seeing her naked. It was for having his hand on her chest.
On the other side of the cave, Jet had made a kitchen area. He even made a freezer to keep the food from rotting. Jet couldn't get over the fact that the food didn't freeze, but it still kept the food from spoiling.
"Guys, we need to leave tonight," Alex said, running into the cave.
"They getting close to finding us?" Jet asked.
"Not yet, but there are new people coming around." Alex jumped onto Rachael's lap.
"Which means we need to leave sooner rather than later." Rachael sighed, knowing it was her fault they hadn't left yet.
"How many different people did you see?" Relo asked, not wanting to know the answer.
"I have spotted at least thirty different people now," Alex said.
"Ok then, Rachael, you head to bed, and Relo and I will get things ready to go." Jet went to the kitchen side of the cave and started getting the meat ready to cook for the trip.
"I can help." Rachael got to her feet, knocking Alex off her lap.
Jet looked over to Rachael, and she had lightning crackling around her. After she had been healed, Rachael had gained the ability to use lightning magic. However, Jet could also use lightning magic now. The problem with Rachael, she had trouble keeping her magic under control. Both Rachael and Ileana were born without magic.
A small tail slapped Rachael on the side of her leg. "Calm down. Jet is right. You need to rest and let them get ready to leave." Alex said.
"Since when does a princess help get stuff ready?" Jet regretted saying that as the words came out. Then watched as a tear fell down her cheek as she walked to the rooms Jet had made for them.
Relo didn't say anything and went to work packing some stuff. They didn't have a lot of stuff, so it only took a few minutes. Jet sat down afterward and sighed.
Relo sat beside him and leaned on him. "Don't worry, Rachael knows you were joking."
"It's not that. How are we going to get back to Hope." Jet leaned on her.
"Since they haven't moved on from this area."
"They must be tracking her." Jet finished Relo's thought.
"Hey, look at this, a cave." A voice echoed from the entrance.
'Alex, grab Rachael and go deeper into the cave.' Jet relayed to Alex, then whispered to Relo. "I got Alex bringing Rachael deeper into the cave. We go with the plan we have been working on." Jet and Relo split up, heading to their planned locations.
Jet and Relo had put together a plan just in case they were found. He had made some slits on each side of the cave for the two of them to hide. Then wait for them to pass and sneak up behind the Crimson Swords. Of course, the plan would only work if there aren't too many people.
"Look, a fire is going up ahead." One of the three men said.
"We can see you moron. Now keep alert. I'm sure they heard us and are ready." The man that walked in front of the other two said.
These three were not stupid. One of them was always watching their back. 'Alex, when you can get ready, plan c.'
Jet and Relo didn't wait long for the plan to take place. They needed all three to face away from them. So they had devised a few strategies.

"Hey there, little ones, what are you doing in my cave." Alex walked up to them, swishing her tail around.
"What the hell is that?" One of the men asked.
While Alex was distracting them, Jet and Relo were slowly creeping upon them. As they got closer, Alex kept on talking nonsense to them. Jet noticed Relo getting further ahead than him. Relo saw this too and slowed down to try and match Jet's pace.
"Well, what do you guys have to say for yourselves?" Alex kept distracting the men.
"I've never seen a beast that could talk before. However, we have a job to do." The man said, walking forward raising his sword. Then stopped and turned to see why the other two hadn't moved with him. Only to find his men's mouth's covered with a daggers in their necks. The man started forward but stopped when a pain shot through his chest. He looked down to find an arrowhead sticking out of where his heart should be, then collapsed to the ground.
Rachael walked out of a dark corner of the cave with Fate in her hands. "Glad we made plans for a surprise attack."
"I don't know. My part of the plan didn't involve much." Alex said, pouting. She had wanted a more hands-on part of the plan.
"You were the best for the distraction. If they had seen us, they would have attacked us without hesitation." Relo explained.
"I know." Alex's ears drooped downwards. "So, what's the plan now," Alex said while looking at the dead bodies.
"We still wait for dark. Relo, go check the vines on the cave entrance, and make sure we're still covered." Jet put his hand out, and everyone could feel slight shaking. The dead bodies sank into the ground, disappearing.
"Why did you?" Rachael started to ask but stopped.
"Hard to sleep with bodies around, and we don't want animals coming around." Jet explained.
"You expect to sleep after that?" Rachael asked.
"Yes, you go get some sleep," Relo said as she walked back to them. "Jet and I will take turns on watch."
"Nope, we're all going to sleep. Alex volunteered to stay up." Jet yawned as he told them the plan.
"Yup, I don't need to sleep." Alex walked by them towards the entrance. "So let me take care of the watch. I'll warn Jet if another group gets close."
Rachael started towards her room Jet made her. She turned to Relo and found her behind herself. Relo grabbed her hand and went with Rachael to the same room. Then Jet also walked in, sealing the room with a few holes for breathing.
"Best if we stick together while we sleep." Relo held onto Rachael's hand.
Jet made a bed for himself in the corner of the room. Then he laid down to try and get some sleep. But his mind just kept wandering from one thought to another.
'Wake up night is nearing.' Alex woke Jet up.
Jet got up and looked around, finding Rachael and Relo curled up together. "Time to wake up." He said while opening back up the wall to the room.
'Was there extra activity from them while we slept?' Jet asked Alex.
'Not yet. They may not meet back up until night.' Alex said, sounding hopeful.
They grabbed all their stuff and headed to the entrance of the cave. Cold air blew by them as they stepped out. It had been a good thing Relo had made her and Rachael some clothes from the animals Jet had killed.
"Jet, I didn't want to say anything for fear of it being true. Since we are leaving the cave, they might be able to track Rachael with more accuracy now." Relo whispered lightly to Jet.
Jet just nodded to the statement. "Yeah, Alex and I had figured that had been the case. However, we can't stay here, so we will hope for the best."
"And plan for the worst." Alex finished.
They had managed to move through the forest undetected for the last week. Jet had been making them holes to hide in during the day, and they only traveled at night. The problem was even with Jet hiding their tracks. The Crimson Swords seemed to be heading in the same direction. This had proved the theory Rachael is being tracked somehow. Jet was just glad the tracking method they used wasn't pinpoint accurate.
Alex had been listening to his thoughts. 'Maybe connected to her blood, which might have changed slightly when I healed her. Now that she has magic running through her body.
'Could be. That would definitely be in our favor.' Jet thought right back.
"Jet, I need to stop," Rachael said, breathing heavily while holding her chest.
Jet took a look back, noticing her pale face. If he kept pushing her, he knew her bones could crack even more. Rachael hadn't had enough time to heal her bones. Taking a quick look around, he noticed there was a small river close to them. "Ok, there is a small river just over there we will camp by."
"I'm sorry," Rachael whispered weakly.
"Don't be. You are doing everything you can." Jet walked over to help her towards the river. 'Alex, we're stopping for a few days near a river. You and Relo start heading back.'
'Sure thing, boss.' Alex had been looking at a lot of his memories lately.
Jet got started on making them an underground house, not just holes this time. The problem was he had to be careful so that the tunnels wouldn't collapse in on themselves. He also didn't want to make too much noise.
'Jet, we have a problem.' Alex had a note of worry in her voice.
'Like run for the hills kind of problem, or stay quiet kind of problem.' Jet stopped what he had been doing. He could see Rachael had noticed.
'I'd definitely stay quiet. We happen to be near one of the Crimson Swords campsites.' Alex sent a mental image of a camp. Several tents and guards were patrolling the area.
'Can you and Relo make it back to us?' He asked, hoping they could.
'That won't be a problem. Also, Relo said to keep setting up our mole hole.' Alex could be heard snickering in his head.
Jet turned to Rachael and explained the situation while he worked on the underground home.
"Shouldn't we try to get further away from the camp?" Rachael asked, with apparent fear in her voice.
Jet just shrugged. "Relo must have a reason for staying this close to the camp."
Jet kept working on the mole home as Relo started calling them. After getting enough space, him and Rachael went underground, where he kept working slowly on the rooms. The beds he would pull sand from the dirt to sleep on since they didn't have anything else to use. The first time they had used leaves, which were noticed missing. So now Jet used sand, it wasn't comfortable, but you could shift it around. When he started the last room, Rachael perked up a little.
"Is that room what I think it is?" Rachael had a note of excitement in her voice.
"Yes, I'm pulling water in from the river for a bath." This was a new addition but necessary. They were really starting to stink from a week without a bath.
