Chapter 9: Mountains of Ice

Chapter 9: Mountains of Ice

I was on my way to the flowers for the medicine. At least I thought so. But I must’ve gone to the wrong mountain because unlike the other one this one was full of snow and ice. And there was a cave, too.

After seeing no flowers on the left and right sides of the entrance, I weighed the risks and decided to enter the cave in able to look for the flower.

The cave had strange markings all over the place and it had torches, too. I thought it must’ve been a well-visited place and it might be a sort of tourist attraction.

And then after walking around for a while, almost getting lost on the way, I found myself in a room that looked like a throne room.

But for whom? And are they deceased?

My question was answered fast. There was someone sitting on a throne. She looked strangely like a near copy of Emiko. Except she had horns of a dragon, had cyan long hair and eyes of a dragon, so this couldn’t be Emiko.

“You’re quite courageous to walk in like this when my army is currently training in a foreign place. But this will get you the honour to die by the hands of Dila!”

“Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. I’m here for a flower.”

“This isn’t a church.”

“Huh? No, I’m here to gather ingredients for medicine.”

“You want to kill me and sell my horns?! And you dare to pull this in front of me?”

She stood up from the throne and began to reduce the distance between us.

“Okay, this is enough for misunderstandings! And I have no time anyway because I need this medicine for Emiko!”

“Emiko?”

“H—Huh. Yeah! Emiko.”

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Did she finally understand me?

“How do you know Emiko?”

“You know Emiko?”

“Hey, don’t answer back with a question. How do you know Emiko?!”

“I… I— I met her by chance. I swear!”

“Huh. Is that so?”

She looked strangely… jealous?

She went back to her throne and let out an audible sigh.

“What did she do again? I swear, without me she always gets into trouble.”

“Apparently she’s poisoned.”

“No, I’m not.”

“Emiko?”

She got horns… and dragon eyes. Yet she still has her uniform on. Is that really Emiko?

“You’re Emiko, right?”

“Hahaha! Of course, that’s Emiko! Who else should she be? Emiko you surely told him you were half-dragon, right?”

“N–No.”

She really is a half-dragon. Not that it makes her any less beautiful.

“Not that it makes her any less beautiful.”

Whoops. Slip of the tongue.

“Huh. You’re quite the playboy, aren’t ya?”

Emiko blushed.

“No, I don’t think so—”

“I didn’t make it in time. Did I?”

“Elany! Um, if it’s alright for me to ask, why are you here?”

“We didn’t really need the medicine, I was just… umm. Forget that. More importantly, it’s great that you’re okay!”

“Now that you’re here with this interesting group, why won’t we have a talk, Emiko?”

And like this, Emiko and her sister caught up on what happened the last few days. I was just glad that my life was spared today.
