Chapter 14: Re:World

Chapter 14: Re:World

As Elany wasn’t in the wooden hut, all I could do was laying down Emiko on the bed. I noticed she was hard to put down and as I put her down I saw why: She grew a tail.

Now that’s weird. Wasn’t she growing horns? I ignored it earlier, but the town’s sign actually said Yourfurt and not Meinfurt. It might be an old name for the town but those two things so far are suspicious.

And then Elany just came in.

“You’re here earlier than I thought.”

“Duh. I sleep here.”

“That’s not what I mean! Aren’t you supposed to be here only by tomorrow?”

“Who told you that?”

“Uhh… Nobody.”

“Anyway. How do you know me?”

“Long story short, I… travelled somehow back in time?”

“Now that’s an interesting story. Do you want to tell me more?”

“Well, where do I begin with… Maybe I just start where I saw you the last time. You were fighting the sister of this person here. And Emiko gave me a choice, whether to stay in my world or stay forever here… or rather in that world at that time.”

“She teleported you back into your world? Wait… what world?”

“Uhh, well it’s a world without fantasy aspects.”

The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

“I don’t understand. Fantasy?”

“Ah, right! Sorry! My bad. I mean without mana and abilities.”

“That sounds awful.”

“You tell me about it. Really awful. Some people there have the power over others simply because they have guns and stuff.”

“That sounds even more awful. Anyway, we can speak later. That girl needs some treatment.”

And after a long sleep through the night and noon, Emiko awoke. I was worried sick how long she slept but was relieved after she woke up.

“Woah! Who are you all? Wait, you’re… that boy I met earlier.”

“I know that this is quite abrupt and absurd to ask you, but what’s your ability, Emiko?”

“I can travel through dimensions.”

“Wait, do you mean you can’t travel to different worlds? Like, create a street lamp?”

“Yeah. I basically can only travel in this world but through different timelines.”

“Woah, Woah, Woah. That’s confusing. The Emiko I know can travel to my world.”

“You keep talking about worlds, but how did you get here?”

“I went through your street lamp. I thought it would appear never again.”

“And you are sure it’s my street lamp, and not let’s say… the street lamp of your Emiko?”

Huh. That could be… possible? But how? Let me ask something else beforehand, though…

“Can you get me to the dimension where an Emiko and this woman here next to me, named Elany, fight against your sister Dila?”

“Let me see… Sure!”

Oh, really? Then please do it. Is what I wanted to say, but she was already sending me through a weird wormhole. I’ll call this world I was visiting “Re”, for “redo”.

“At least let me thank you!”

Maybe she heard that. Maybe not. I won’t see her ever again, most likely. Now I gotta prepare for that fall into the ground because that’s the classic malfunction of the abilities of any Emiko out there.
