Why am I standing in this room?
“Melo!”
Dad? Haven’t I been somewhere else just now…?
“Where have you been, my son?”
“I am… on an adventure.”
“What?”
“I will come back! For sure!”
I tried waking myself up but the sound of a stick being broken woke me up.
I really fell asleep! More importantly, was that Emiko?
I whispered Emiko’s name but nobody answered. Is that really someone—
“BOO!”
“Aaaaaaaaaaaah— You startled me!”
If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
“Hahahahaha!”
Emiko was visibly amused by scaring me and laughed for what felt like a minute.
“I bought us water.”
“Water? But we don’t have… any… bottles.”
She literally carried the water by using it like a spell.
“Open your mouth!”
?!?!
If I opened my mouth any second later I would’ve been fully splashed by water.
“The water tastes great! Where did you get it from?”
“The river nearby. I also saw a village over there.”
“Really? Awesome! That means we meet others.”
“Well, it seemed like some of those houses were burning.”
“Of course. Of course. Of course. Why wouldn’t they? Do you know if there’s any other village nearby?”
“There is one but we still need to travel quite a bit. It shouldn’t be a problem.”
So we travelled. The forest was enormous. We weren’t out of the woods for what felt like miles.
But finally, after climbing up a mountain, we were out of the woods. Thanks to the height of the mountain we could see a village afar, which spiked our motivation up so we continued to walk.
Although afar it looked like a village, when we got closer we noticed that it was a town. When we arrived at the town centre, we saw an assembly.
Just what did they talk about?
