the clock of war is frozen, the cancerous welts of rust seized its gears. but that rust cracks and grumbles, the graunching of gears will soon resume. the continent has been stagnant for far too long, and the empire has shown weakness. many will take the empire's misfortune as an opportunity and raise their armies. some may succeed, but it will take time. while the continent readies their blades for something that is not theirs, one child lifts theirs for a better cause. a barony left unaffected by the calamity stirs underneath the surface. one child, abandoned by the world will seek to attain what is rightfully theirs.  will this child succeed, or will they fall? take out your eyes and place them upon the pages of this tale and let the sadness begin. what: The second of my attempts at worldbuilding like a romance novel, but without any romance. I realized that my first attempt wasn't ready and I am afraid of it ever seeing the light so I decided to pop out something new. this is a story I am making for the writathon following one of the concepts that I use to get ideas for writing. I look at a romance novel, vomit at the romance, turn it into a tragedy and fail to recreate the wonderful worldbuilding then cry. it is a very simple process and I am quite happy with both the unfinished attempt 1 and the budding few chapters of attempt 2 I wrote last night.  there is no prologue and you will discover the characters and their history as are they brought up.the pov is first person, but dodgy first person since I only recently let go of my inhibitions about writing depressing stuff. the story will follow the main character who in the HYIE way has some issues. I don't know how to write abbout plot without spoiling what I consider the "fun parts" so I present to you a terrible synopsis. but if you are somehow interested nonetheless go ahead, it exists that I can guarantee. the world itself is pretty much a bog standard fantasy world but made painful. (I would put more effort into describing it, but that sums it up perfectly.) I don't do synopsis goob me write story goob... trust... :)
