Chapter - 6 : The Cursed boy

As James settled into the car, memories from his youth flooded his mind. Coming from a prominent background, he was accorded respect in public, but the whispers behind his back painted a different picture. Referred to as the "cursed boy," he had been plagued by loneliness since childhood. His sickly appearance instilled fear in others, causing them to shun him for fear of contracting the curse themselves. The isolation he endured left a lasting impact on his heart, fostering a deep sense of solitude and longing for genuine connection.

James endured a lonely upbringing, and even in school, he was shunned by his peers. No one dared to sit near him, leaving him isolated day after day. However, everything changed on the day he successfully sensed mana and was assigned to Class A. Taking his usual place in the last row, he noticed a tall boy approaching him and taking the seat beside him. Initially bewildered by this unexpected gesture, James slowly accepted the fact that someone was willing to sit next to him, sparking a glimmer of hope in his heart.

James mustered up the courage to initiate a conversation, but upon receiving no response from the other person, he decided not to push further. Despite the limited interaction, James found solace in the fact that there was someone who didn't show any disgust towards him. With each passing day, he continued his attempts to engage in conversation, even if it resulted in just a brief exchange of a few words. Despite the limited communication, James cherished these moments as they helped alleviate his feelings of loneliness.

In a fateful turn of events, James found himself in a precarious situation when his butler was late to pick him up from school. Left with no other option, he decided to take public transportation, assuring his butler that he would be fine and reach home safely. However, before he could board the commute, he was surrounded by a group of hooligans demanding money from him.

Refusing to comply, James stood his ground, which only served to further anger the aggressive individuals. They began to physically assault him, causing him immense pain and was not able to see properly. In his moment of despair, he resigned himself to his fate. However, his despair was interrupted by the sound of pleading and shouting.

To his surprise and relief, someone came to his rescue, swiftly grabbing him and pulling him away from the clutches of the assailants. As James regained his senses, he recognized his savior as Alex. Grateful for his help, James humbly asked if Alex would be willing to accompany him to his home, to which Alex nodded in agreement.

In the following days, James expressed his gratitude to Alex for saving him, even though he received no verbal response in return. Their friendship continued to grow, and James opened up to Alex about his personal life, sharing his likes, dislikes, and the details of the curse that afflicted his family.

He explained how his grandfather had awakened a C-level cursed weapon, which required him to consume around 50 bags of blood daily, significantly impacting their lives. The curse had a profound effect, reducing their lifespan by 50 years compared to a typical Novice weapon master who lived up to 150 years , they can only live upto 100 years. However, he also mentioned that his family's curse had somewhat lessened when his uncle awakened a D-level divine saber weapon,

reducing the blood requirement to 25 bags and the lifespan reduction to 35 years.

He also shared the information that in order to completely eliminate the curse, either a generation must awaken a divine weapon that is two levels higher than the cursed weapon or continue awakening divine weapons until the curse is entirely eradicated which is very difficult since only 1 will awaken divine/cursed weapon from 10 million.

"Master, we have arrived home," said the butler, awakening James from his daze. He then stepped out of the car and headed towards his house.

Note -

1. James grandfather will still have 50 years of life reduction , since curse carries on generation to generation . So when , someone awakens a divine weapon in one generation than that generation as well as the upcoming generation will have some reduction in the adverse effect of the curse.

2. If there is already a curse that has been passed down through generations, and another cursed-type weapon is awakened, both the previous curse and the newly awakened curse will continue to persist.
