His head was pounding, blinding lights strobed across his vision and pain persisted throughout his skull. Gyun clutched his head as he thrashed around on his hospital bed he groaned with pain.
His kicking around caused some of the machines to disconnect from him, Gyun rolled around as he screamed with pain. His head felt like it was collapsing, and his body felt like it was being broken and torn apart.
Gyun caught a glance of himself in the reflection of his window before he rolled off the bed, blacking out from the pain. As his vision went black, Gyun wondered why his reflection looked so frail.
His dreams were filled with the sound of screams, his memories haunted him as the horrific images of things he'd seen and done. A bloodied and tortured man, a burning village, a dead child impaled on a spear, the battlefield littered with bodies. Images seared into his mind as he woke up.
Gyuns breathing was heavy as he clutched his head, he heard the voice of some people but Gyuns eyes were watering.
"Are you okay sir?"
Gyun opened his eyes to see a nurse in her 40s tapping his shoulder, Gyuns throat was dry so his voice came out raspy. The lights still seemed so bright, so he spoke through squinted eyes.
"Where am I?"
"You are at Bormeau International Hospital, In Yongsan, Seoul, don't exert yourself right now you are extremely weak at the moment"
-A hospital? So I did return to the modern world!- he thought, Gyun asked a question that he'd thought of. "What happened? Why am I here?"
A horrifying thought occurred in his head, "W-wait what year is it?"
The nurse pursed her lips, "it's September of 2038"
-2038? It was 2032 last I remember-
"2038, Isn't it 2032?"
The nurse turned to look at the door, "I think you should wait for the doctor to tell you, but rest assured we've already contacted your family."
-Family? After so long I can finally see my family?-he thought as his eyes closed from exhaustion and he fell asleep.

7 months later
Gyun put on a high school uniform for the first time. He'd been taking tests for the past few weeks to pass grades and finished middle school in just a few days of studying.

Now Gyun would join the school year while taking supplementary classes meanwhile studying for his GED.
His family had worked out an understanding with the school due to his situation of being in a coma for 5 years from 14 to 19 (Korean age, 13 to 18 in most other countries).
It took Gyun a long time to deal with his loss of the qi and the effort he put into advancing his realm, for the decade he spent in Murim. Luckily though he at least had his skills and his reflexes were as fast as they ever had been.
Though his body was still the 'Tempered Martial God body'. And boasted near superhuman strength, and durability, though he was frail when he first woke up he had been relentlessly training every day, working out, running, and began lifting weights at the local gym. His 'Tempered Martial God body' had been shaped and altered by Gyun himself when in Murim. This allowed Gyun to have far better stamina and gain muscle easier than the average person his physique wasn't quite at the level of his peak but it was lean enough and had enough muscle. That struck a balance between, the holy trinity of physical attributes in fighting, strength, speed, and endurance.
With a distinct V-shape and vascularity, both strong enough and fast enough to compete with any Olympian and not fall behind. The help of nutrition and protein that he didn't have access to in Murim greatly helped him return to his prime physique in a shorter period.
Gyun's appearance was the same as it was before he died in murim, handsome with light olive skin, and a sharp jawline, objectively he was extremely good-looking. The only flaw was his eyes, he was born with heterochromia as a child long before he fell into Murim and the other world. Born with complete heterochromia, one eye was a dark brown and the other was a violet color, an extremely rare mutation. Though most people found it more attractive than anything else.
He was taller than average standing at 6 foot, except for all the scars he'd accumulated in Murim which were no longer there, he was identical to his murim self.
Though he had gotten a few new scars from a stray piece of glass on his back and a massive scar on his chest apparently from a lifesaving surgery to save him from a few pieces of glass that'd punctured his lungs when he'd suffered the car accident that'd placed him in a coma 5 years ago and killed his father, something which Gyun took some time to come to terms with.
His father's death had gotten rid of their source of income since his father used to be in a high position at a decent-sized company in their financial department. Their family's wealth had continuously dwindled as Gyun learned they moved out of their apartment in Gangnam unable to afford the rent and into a smaller apartment on the edge of Gangnam his mom returned to her job at an entertainment company as a manager but the medical expenses for Gyun while in his coma kept them in a continuously financially unstable position.
But more than that Gyun sensed something was wrong with what happened during and after his father's death. Though the accident was deemed a drunk driving accident, the other driver never received a sentence and got off with a fine, after a lawyer from KG and Associates, a mega law firm within South Korea. Defended him, as well the supposed accident happened in an area without video surveillance.
More so the company his father slaved away 20 years for, exploited loopholes to avoid paying the medical and life insurance his father should have received for his whole family. Leaving his family with very little and with Gyun in a coma, even more, bills to pay at the time.
Though there was a lot of circumstantial evidence to suggest something foul happened that day, he had no solid evidence and the fact that everything seemed like a cover-up. At least until the day after Gyun was comatose a representative from his father's company showed a contract that his father had signed that forced her to hand over everything in his home office.
His mother declined the man's demands, according to his mother the man stormed off and a week later their house was broken into and the entirety of the house was set on fire.
There was just too much evidence pointing to it being more than just an accident.
"Haaaaa"
Gyun sighed heavily, he wasn't looking forward to going to high school. But he was glad he would only be there for half a year. He hated the idea of going to school but he decided to embrace it now that he has to do it, it would take time to train himself and get back to his prime physique and he would need to properly look into his father's death.
Besides it would help his mom feel better about him after he was diagnosed with Anti-social personality disorder, and bipolar disorder shortly after he returned to the modern world.
There were many worries on his mind but first Gyun would try to find an avenue of success. While his parents weren't rich they weren't poor either and Gyun and his 2 siblings got along fine. But Gyun who'd reigned at the top of the murim world with strength could not accept living moderately.
He required accomplishment, and he had ideas on how he could accomplish it. He had picked up business skills in the other world and now he was confident he could grow a company but he needed start-up capital and he had the perfect idea that would fit his skillset.
"You know what Minhee maybe I might hang around a bit longer before I go, it's not that I want to but I need to," he said as the image of Minhee stared back at him, still holding a sad look in her eyes.
"You guy's too, I'll be sure to succeed for you, for all of us," Gyun said looking back as his group of once best friends looked back at him with sad eyes.
