The beams, missiles, and rockets, all hit the Frost Drake. It roared in rage before stretching the sword arms outward and spinning around. Noticing that it had stretched its sword arms out, Frank gave an order to his team, “Break away. Everyone break away.” Following Frank’s orders, the rest of the team stopped attacking and quickly backed away from the Frost Drake, when it started to spin around before it lifted off the ground and back into the dark clouds.
Vincent asks, “What just happened? We were just about to take it down.” Anna shook her head, “Look at his health bar closely Vincent. We were far from doing enough damage to destroy it.” “What are you talking about?” said Vincent, when he noticed the health bar on his screen, “You have got to be kidding me. We barely did anything to it.” Everyone heard a loud roar and the Frost Drake descended from the clouds and floated not too far away from the battle area.
Seeing the boss stare at them, Frank gave everyone his orders, “This time, it won’t use a spin attack like before. This is when it’ll start mixing things up a bit. We need to be ready for anything. So, watch out.” The rest of the team shouted in affirmation, “ROGER!” The Frost Drake roared and once again, it charged towards the battle area. When it arrived, it dived low with all four of its arms stretched out, with the upper arms angled a little higher than the lower arms. The swords on the upper arms began heating up and turning a bright shade of orange.
As it made its way across the battle area, it pulled the triggers on its guns and began firing. Justin had his Mantaraia get on its backpack and flew above the boss, while the rest of the team avoid the attack by moving through the gap between its arms. Unfortunately, just as they were about to do so, the Frost Drake changed the angle of its arms. The upper sword arms fell downward while the lower gun arms rose upward. This move caught Frank, Anna, and Vincent by surprise and they fall on the cold hard ground.
Justin saw the entire thing while he was up in the air. He aimed his entire arsenal at the boss’ back and fired. The Frost Drake took some damage after its back was attacked. After knocking down the three frames, the Frost Drake raised its body, intent on performing a backflip. As it did so, the angle of the arms changed once again, and the guns were now at a lower angle. When it was at the peak height for the flip, the guns angled pointing 90 degrees in front of it. The Frost Drake Performed the backflip and when the guns were pointing upward, the Mantaraia fell into its range. The boss of the stage pulled the trigger and fired its dual guns. Seeing this, Justin blocked the brunt of the attack with his manta ray backpack. The attack ended when the Frost Drake successfully performed the backflip and flew out of the battle area and descended down the mountain. “I’m going down!” said Justin as the Mantaraia fell down from the sky onto the cold hard ground after its manta ray backpack exploded.
Rosenkavalier, Predator, and Jakqoo V, all staggered as they tried to get back to their feet. Vincent commented, “That thing played dirty.” Frank slowly walked towards the grounded Mantaraia and helped it up. He laughs, “He’s a boss. It’s expected for us to have a difficult fight. Besides, this is just like any other game. The bosses have an unfair advantage against the players. All this just makes the victory a lot more satisfying when we take it down.” Anna and Justin also laugh, “Yeah, I almost forgot about that feeling.”
Vincent asks, “What feeling?” Anna answers, “The feeling of overcoming adversity and coming out on top. After having so much trouble against something, it always feels good the moment you beat it.” Vincent made an (O) with his mouth, “Oh, that feeling. Since we’ve already taken a beating from this thing. Let’s take it out once and for all.” Frank laughs, “Of course, we’re going to take it out. Afterward, we’re going to win in our next match, and continue until we reach nationals.”
Frank then asks Justin, “Justin, did you notice anything when you attacked it earlier?” Justin shook his head, “Not really.” Frank then looked at the boss’ health bar, “Look at his health.” Justin heeded the advice and paid attention to the Frost Drake’s health bar, “There’s a lot less health.” Frank smirks, “Figured it out yet?” Vincent then asks, “Figured what out?” It finally donned on Justin, “That back is its weakness.” Frank snaps his fingers and points at Justin, “Bingo! The back is its weakness. That was what Anna and I were trying to do.”

Having finally understood the intentions behind the first attack, everything became clear for Justin, “The missiles. They’re the key part of this stage.” Frank smirks once again, “I’m glad at least one of you two figured it out. Now, we have to get ready when it comes back for another run at us. Vincent, go grab a missile, and point it upwards.” After receiving their orders, each member of Silver Vanguard went to retrieve the missiles that were still stuck to the ground and pulled them out.
Once again, the Frost Drake roared as it flew up the side of the mountain. It then flew above the four frames with its back facing them and was about to unleash another barrage of missiles. There was only one difference. This time, the entire team was ready for it. All of them stood their ground and aimed the missiles upward. Frank then gave his order, “On my count. One, two, three, Pull!” All of them pulled the cord at the same time and the thrusters of the spear missiles came to life. They flared, trying to escape the team’s grasp. Once the Frost Drake was finally above them, Frank gave the order, “RELEASE!”
Each of them lets go of the missile and it flew up into the air and struck the Frost Drake. All of them managed to pierce its back. The fuses on the spear missiles went out just as it was about to fire the missiles on its back. The resulting explosion from the four missiles caused a chain reaction with the missiles that were about to be launched and they too exploded, causing the Frost Drake to suffer even greater damage before falling out of the sky and directly onto the battle area.
Seeing the now grounded Frost Drake, Frank gave his team an order, “Pile on. Don’t let it get back up.” Following the order, everyone continued to attack with everything they had. The attack from the spear missiles had reduced the Frost Drake’s health bar until only half of it was left. The health bar had turned from green to yellow. Indicating that it was halfway to being completely destroyed.
The team continued attacking its back until the health bar turned red. The Frost Drake only had a quarter of its health bar remaining. When it reached this point, the Frost Drake got up and roared. With most of its body now cracked and littered with broken armor, a red aura enveloped the boss. Seeing this situation, Anna alerted her teammates, “Break away. It’s entering berserk mode.” Upon getting the alert, the entire team distanced themselves from the now enraged and maddened boss.
The maddened Frost Drake began twirling its two swords around while the gun arms fired low. The chest of the boss opened up and it began charging. Upon seeing the scene, Vincent asks Frank, “What do we do now?” Frank observed the monster of a frame and gave his orders. “First we need to stop at least one of its arms. Then we have to destroy it before the cannon fires. Otherwise, it's game over.”
Having received the order, Rosenkavalier moves behind the Titan while avoiding the swords. Anna launches the heat rod and ties it around one of the monster’s hands. She pulled back as hard as she could while at the same time, sending a stream of electricity through the heat rod. Mantaraia came up from behind Rosenkavalier and pulled it back, just as the Frost Drake began to pull Rosenkavalier towards it. Predator comes up to the two and helps with the tug of war, “Vincent, we’re busy holding back its arm. You have to be the one to finish this.”
Vincent fired everything he had at the boss, and the attacks could only chip at the health bar little by little. “Looks like I really have to use it. I was hoping to save this for later.” Vincent drops the Giga launcher to the ground and throws his two heat hawk axes at the cannon on the Frost Drake’s chest before leaping into the air in front of it. The spikes and the shield on the Jakqoo V’s shoulders detached and reattached themselves onto the Jakqoo V’s hands like gloves. The mechanical voice spoke, “Critical Assault: Gatling Barrage!” Vincent’s Jakqoo V then began unleashing a flurry of punches aimed at the Frost Drake’s chest plate. Over time and with the continuous blows it was receiving, the chest plate began caving in and covering the mouth of the cannon. The attack kept chipping away at the Titan’s health. When Vincent finally stopped, the Frost Drake was on its last leg and was about to be destroyed. However, it had also finished charging the cannon. It aimed its chest cannon at the Jakqoo V and fired. To everyone’s surprise, the moment it did so. The Frost Drake shook before exploding. When it exploded, Vincent was still unable to wrap his head around what had happened and was frightened for his life when the monster’s ultimate attack was aimed at him. He stood there in a daze when the mechanical voice spoke, “Mission over.” Each of their screens then received a notification, ‘Mission Complete’.
