Vincent looked at the options he had on the table. He looked at the base frame card and at the other clear cards for arms, legs, weapons, etc. He finally realized how difficult it is to assemble his own frame. He wondered how long it took for Anna and Justin to assemble theirs. “Hey guys,” the duo were looking through all of the cards Vincent had when he called out to them. Vincent asks, “How long did it take you to fully assemble your Warframe?”
Anna and Justin looked at each other, Anna answers, “Well, for me, it took me a few minutes to choose my frame type and a bit more time to choose a good base frame. I used a Nightingale base. From there, I played around with the setup for a while before I was satisfied with the end product. And that is the Rosenkavalier I’ve been using.” Justin then chided in, “In my case, I wanted a sea-themed frame. But aside from Savage types, there weren’t any. So, I assembled mine around the idea. I gave my frame seafaring equipment instead. The end result was Mantaraia.”
Justin observes Vincent, “So, this begs the question, what kind of frame do you intend to assemble? What are your preferences? Come one, Vincent. You must have a playstyle that you like.” Vincent thought about it for a while. “Is there a frame that has a lot of weapons?” Anna and Justin looked at each other again. They did not understand what Vincent meant. Justin went through all the cards again, “Care to elaborate.”
Vincent nods, “My preferred playstyle is having a lot of weapons. That way, I can adapt to the situation and change weapons when necessary.” Justin finally understood Vincent’s preference and made a suggestion. “Okay, I get what you’re saying. My suggestion for something like that is either the Jakqoo or the Ranger. Both primarily have multiple weapons and they are the most adaptable.” Justin then presented Vincent with the Jakqoo and Ranger cards.
From what Vincent observed, his choices were that of a frame with one eye and an almost square-shaped head with two horns on the side of its head angled backward at a 60-degree angle. It also has a shield mounted on the left shoulder. As for the Ranger, it had a visor for eyes and is shaped like a typical warrior frame, while the Jakqoo was also a warrior frame, it had a stockier build.
After observing his two choices, Vincent finally decided on the Jakqoo. Vincent then once again turned to his friends, “Okay, I’ve decided on my frame base, now what?” Anna smiles, “Now, we modify the frame. We choose what parts to keep and what to replace, and what weapon to add. How about we go for a trial run of what you assembled so far and keep modifying until we have something you’re satisfied with.”
Vincent quickly assembled the frame with all of his desired weapons equipped. After getting his frame ready, Vincent, Anna, and Justin went to the counter and Shawn gave Vincent his reader. “Here you go. All ready and registered for you to use. All you got to do now is enjoy your time in the game.” Vincent nods and was about to go to the pods the shop has available. But he stopped when he did not know where they were. “So, Shawn, where are the cockpit pods. I want to test this baby out.” Shawn looked at Vincent, “Sorry kid, but we don’t really have offline pods here. We mostly offer the online experience." Vincent was baffled by the statement when a commercial came on, on the screen behind Shawn, “Here, why don’t I move aside and let you see it for yourself.”
The commercial showed the sun shining over shadowed structures, before shifting to images showing various locations such as race tracks and arenas while showing various Warframes. Then a map of the world was displayed before more Warframes appeared on the screen. The scene shifted once again and showed shadows of a group of people with a tower in the background.

Having seen the commercial, Vincent was intrigued by the concept. Shawn smirked after seeing the expression Vincent was trying to hide. “So, how about it, want to give it a go?” Shawn waved Vincent’s base reader, before showing them to the room for their cockpits. The trio followed behind Shawn and walked into a large white room. It was filled with dozens of pods.
Vincent, Anna, and Justin each took a pod right next to each other and puts on the visor that hang from the ceiling of the cockpit, and placed their base readers on the console. Shawn activated the visor for Vincent, and words were displayed on the visor, it read, ‘Welcome Vincent, to Nexus’. Then a voice spoke from the console, “Identification confirmed. Now scanning Warframe. Scanning completed. Login data confirmed. Are you ready? Initiating Dive.”
The moment those words were spoken, Vincent felt his consciousness enter the game and followed a tunnel made up of 1s and 0s. After a few flashes of light, he comes upon a large mostly empty space. The only thing he saw there were pillars of light. At first, Vincent felt like he was floating aimlessly, but then he began inching closer and closer to one of the pillars.
A gateway of shimmering light suddenly appeared on the pillar that was pulling him. On the gateway of light, it read, ‘Welcome to Nexus’, before the gateway opened and even brighter light came out of it, and it said, ‘Will you be the last one standing?’ Vincent was pulled into the gateway as he tried to keep his eyes from being blinded by the light.
When he reappeared, Vincent found himself behind a door. He walks over to it and it opened, revealing a large lobby filled with people. He then looked at himself and found that his entire attire had changed. He was now wearing a blue jacket over a white shirt and he had goggles on his head. He looked around and saw people of different ages wearing different attires, some of them did not even look human. He saw a lion cub passing by talking with a teddy bear. A blonde young man wearing a black uniform and dark sunglasses walks up to Vincent. He taps him on the shoulder. “Not too shabby, Newb.”
“Don’t call me Newb”, Vincent eyed the young man in the uniform almost similar to an old German army officer’s uniform. He found the person familiar. The young man in the uniform took off his sunglasses, Vincent exclaimed in surprise, “Justin!?” Justin smirked. A girl then walks up to the duo. She had beautiful deep blue eyes, and sapphire blue hair. She wore a white and blue ensemble with a blue rose pin over her left chest. “Hey, guys. Vincent, you were easy to spot, but Justin, I did not expect you to wear a military uniform. If you hadn’t taken off your sunglasses, I wouldn’t have recognized you.”
Justin and Vincent looked at each other. They were both unfamiliar with the girl that was talking to them. “Excuse me but, who are you?” The girl crossed her arms and looked at them in disappointment, “It’s me, Anna.” Vincent and Justin looked at each other before looking back at the girl, and shaking their heads, “Nooooo.” Justin then added, “You can’t be Anna. Your breasts are too big.” Infuriated, Anna balls her hand into a fist and hits Justin and Vincent on their heads.
“So you’re saying I have small breasts. Justin, you idiot!” Large swelling appeared on their heads. Anna then opened an identification window and showed it to the two idiots. After seeing the information, Justin admitted while rubbing the large pink swell on his head, “Sorry, alright. Sheesh, okay, so you’re Anna. It’s just that, you don’t look anything like, well, you.” Anna cross her arms and pouted. “That doesn’t give you the right to say what you did”. Vincent was also rubbing on the swelling, wanting it to go down faster, “Why did I get hit?” Anna harrumphed, “Because you kept quiet when he said it.” Vincent sighed. This was not an argument he could win.
